Rios pulled from game
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) Doesn't make any sense as to why Rios was hugging everyone though. He just got scolded by his manager. He needed huggles.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 02:02 PM) Shingo is throwing out the first pitch tomorrow! Yes! Spring Training 2012 I was watching an intrasquad game just a day or two before spring training games began. I left my seat to walk along the fence on the left field side just to get a different view. I was standing right next to an asian guy in a Shingo White Sox jersey. I found out a day or two later, I think on soxtalk, that that WAS Shingo. I had no idea. I thought he looked too young to BE Shingo.

2013 Minor League Transactions
QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) Jordan Danks would probably get the call if/when someone is moved. No one else is even close. I'm dreaming of a White Sox outfield of Tekotte, Danks and Casper Wells. #1 pick next year lookin' good.

Grinder Bash
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 03:03 PM) If you look now, you can see there is no depth in Sox or baseball discussions compared to here. #6 thread is titled Latest Sox commercial. #4 My Annual White Sox Marketing & Game Experience Complaint List. What does that tell you? Ummmm, that they drove away a lot of really good fans? Honestly, I haven't checked them out in a loooong time, but what can be left there but a little coffee clutch group, which I guess is what they want.

Trade idea with the Dodgers
Not a bad idea but maybe in the future for a thread Title you might want to say something like Trade Idea with the Dodgers. Your thread title lead me to believe there was a trade. Just sayin'.

AAP: Jim Gallagher
I guess the mlb all-star break is a good time to update my AAP. While Gallagher can't really be called a prospect any more, he is still in the minor league system (and has been since 2007) and he's still my AAP. I saw Gallagher play a few games with Great Falls in 2007 and thought he was pretty impressive, so made him my AAP. He came out of Duke and tore up Pioneer Lg. pitching (.332, .418 OBP). Gallagher has posted a .271 career minor league BA, which is solid. Primarily a right-fielder these days, he also plays LF, CF and 1B. This year at Charlotte, Jim is batting .264 in 69 games with a .345 OBP. He began this season hitting around .300 through May but has slumped pretty badly through June and so far in July.

7/14 at Phillies
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) I don't think they'll intentionally make moves to end up with a worse record. However, based on the moves they are likely to make (Peavy/Crain/Lindstrom), it's quite possible the team will be so bad that they'll end up with 100 losses. That's what I'm thinking too. It's very realistic that the Sox can finish worse than the Astros. Hard to be worse than the Marlins, but even that could happen.

Matt Thornton Appreciation Thread
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) 3.28 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 463 1/3 innings with the Sox. Everybody will remember the games that he blew, but those are pretty damn good numbers for a reliever over that period of time. Those numbers are pretty good. Can't argue with that. Good luck in Boston, Matt. Keith Folke, Bobby Jenks, now Matt Thornton. I guess Boston is kinda like a retirement home for ex-Sox relievers.
