Let's win this and bring Joy to the World. Well, at least joy to you and me.

Lol. "That brings up the pitcher, DeWayne Wise".

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) Not too often you have a game with 9 doubles and you lose it by 10 runs. Wtf?! I didn't even realize that. That's nuts. Weird night.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) Wise pitching! Thanks for the tip. I had to turn it back on. DWEEZY!!!

QUOTE (oldsox @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) Ever since Dave Letterman interviewed Humber, he came apart. But why does Ventura leave him in so long? 8 hits, 2 walks in 1/3 of inning. I thought the same thing about Ohman's last game. I thought just get him out of there.....and oh, they did. So we can only hope....... Is aynone still watching the game? Is it even still going? Is it 24-4 now?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) Less than 16k in attendance tonight. Absolutely ridiculous And they're probably pretty sorry they were there.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) It's about time to never see Humber pitch for the White Sox again. I'll second that. This performance reminded me of *shudders* Will Ohman's last outing for the Sox. GO AWAY HUMBER!

RIP Michael and GO WHITE SOX!!!!

I met a gin-soaked barroom queen in Memphis She had a moist vagina she took the midnight train going anywhere I said train kept a-rollin' all night long Train kept a-rollin' all night long Train kept a-rollin' all night long Train kept a-rollin' all night long With a heave and a ho Well don't you know that's the sound of the men working on the chain gang Oh, Oh, these chains of love got a hold on me, yeah. One of these mornings the chain is gonna break Chain, chain, chain (Chain...chain...chain..) Chain of fools! Wise Men say only fools rush in You got no money, you got no car, you got no woman, and there you are Sittin' downtown in a railway station, one toke over the line I don't get angry when my Mom smokes pot, Hits the bottle and goes right to the rock She's so high, like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc or Aphrodite Dear mother can you hear me laughing? Mama, I just killed a man A bullet had found him, His blood ran as he cried, No money could save him , So he laid down and he died "Where'd ya get the gun, John?" Told him take off all his clothes and put your penis next to mine And the Bulge in my big big big big big big big big big big big big big big BIG Even though sometimes it's a pain in the ass, I like having a detachable penis. Swingin' to the drums, swingin' to guitar, swingin' to the bass in the back of my car Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm It's like candy, I can feel it when you walk, even when you talk it takes over me Tequila Truck on down to the candy store, Bust your konk on peppermint candy Standing on the corner with a piece of pizza, Eat To The Beat Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis? Like a rock, standing arrow straight I wish I was anything but a rock. Heck, I'd even like to be a policeman .

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 05:50 AM) Since most people are giving the standard Hendrix, Mercury, Lennon answers, I'll go with a little less popular answer and say Danny Whitten from Crazy Horse. Most have never heard of him, but man was he a talent. Listen to Neil Young's - Live From the Fillmore East and hear just how amazing the band was when Whitten was alive. His death was also the inspiration for Neil Young's famed "Ditch Trilogy" of albums. Young was in a great depression because he had fired Whitten because he was too messed up and gave him a plane ticket and some money to enter rehab, well Whitten took that money and scored some dope with it and overdosed and died. That emotion led Young to record possibly the best three albums of his career. Nice! Yeah, it's nice to give recognition to the little-bit-lesser known "greats". Mine would be Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson from Canned Heat. -
Brady split the 2012 season between Winston-Salem (78 games) and Birmingham (56 games). For the Dash, Brady hit .331. At Birmingham his average fell to .254 though he maintained a very nice .408 OBP. Combined numbers for the season have Shoemaker with a .300 BA and .416 OBP, .902 OPS; 91 runs, 35 2B, 1 3B, 17 HR, 85 RBI.
-
Jim finished this season with a career low .225 avg. Even his .304 OBP was a career low, as was his 1 HR. It should be noted, that during a brief demotion to Birmingham (11 games), he hit .295 with a homer. All in all though, a season he'd probably like to have over again.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 10:37 PM) I felt like he was an old member returning in the first place. You mean an old troll? Getting back to the game, how about Robin's terrible handling of the bullpen?!
-
Now THAT is a game thread start. GO SOX!!!

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) Dadgummit. Now the Tigers have all the momentum back for a 9th inning rally again. Crap. F*** that. Let's just get 'em 1-2-3, Indians!!
