  1. I met a gin-soaked barroom queen in Memphis She had a moist vagina she took the midnight train going anywhere I said train kept a-rollin' all night long Train kept a-rollin' all night long Train kept a-rollin' all night long Train kept a-rollin' all night long With a heave and a ho Well don't you know that's the sound of the men working on the chain gang Oh, Oh, these chains of love got a hold on me, yeah. One of these mornings the chain is gonna break Chain, chain, chain (Chain...chain...chain..) Chain of fools! Wise Men say only fools rush in You got no money, you got no car, you got no woman, and there you are Sittin' downtown in a railway station, one toke over the line I don't get angry when my Mom smokes pot, Hits the bottle and goes right to the rock She's so high, like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc or Aphrodite Dear mother can you hear me laughing? Mama, I just killed a man A bullet had found him, His blood ran as he cried, No money could save him , So he laid down and he died "Where'd ya get the gun, John?" Told him take off all his clothes and put your penis next to mine And the Bulge in my big big big big big big big big big big big big big big BIG Even though sometimes it's a pain in the ass, I like having a detachable penis. Swingin' to the drums, swingin' to guitar, swingin' to the bass in the back of my car Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm It's like candy, I can feel it when you walk, even when you talk it takes over me Tequila Truck on down to the candy store, Bust your konk on peppermint candy Standing on the corner with a piece of pizza, Eat To The Beat Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis? Like a rock, standing arrow straight I wish I was anything but a rock. Heck, I'd even like to be a policeman . Mama, Mama. Someone said they made some noise, the cops have shot some girls and boys. Police and thieves in the street, scaring the nation with their guns and ammunition. Take me home, take me home, ooh baby let's get outta here. They got the guns but we got the numbers, gonna' win, yeah we're taking over. Tell all the folks in Russia and China too I'll give you a man who wants to rule the world
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) Get him the f*** out THIS!
  3. QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) Maybe Reed can break his 17 game streak of consecutive appearances, without a "one, two three" inning.
  4. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 04:44 PM) There goes some heat for all the velocity babies. LOL!!
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) Would love an insurance run here. I'm hoping we don't see Reed. It looked like he didn't have good velocity last night (sat at 93-94). Couple of interesting stats on Reed: 6.00 E.R.A. at the Cell this year, 1.63 WHIP, .311 BAA. Against the Royals this year in 5 games: 18.69 E.R.A.; 2.77 WHIP, .429 BAA. Scary.
  6. Good job by Thornton the last couple of games. That's sure been good to see. Can we get some more runs, please?
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) While the ERA isn't such a huge deal for a closer, he hasn't been good for quite a while. At least a month. In other words, his bad ERA is a pretty huge deal.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) I can give you $10 million reasons why Addison Reed is still closing. That's about it. But, I have to agree with Lillian here. A 4.56 E.R.A. ain't cutting it and post All-Star game his E.R.A. is 5.40! Problem is, who? I'd give Myers a shot.
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) Possibly a win Saturday and again Sunday might make us feel better? Mmmmmmm....possibly.
  10. White Sox: Game 2 of 2005 World Series. You guys who were there are so fortunate! I'd go with that instead of game 4 just for the home crowd factor. Non-White Sox: Game 7 of 1960 World Series (Mazeroski's homer to beat the Yankees).
  11. "Everyone wants a villain." A.J. Pierzynski. And he's ours. As a kid, Louie Aparicio was my favorite player and I have continued to think of him as my all-time favorite. If I think about it realistically though, A.J. has replaced Little Louie as my favorite White Sox player ever. There have been so many great A.J. moments. My favorite from this year was A.J. scoring from first on Alexei's infield grounder against the A's. Like someone else said, I hope when A.J.'s playing days are over he remains with the Sox as either a broadcaster or a coach.
  12. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 09:11 AM) You still live in Utah, which sucks 97% of the time. The 3% that doesn't is the baseball games, all the blonde women and the mountains. That's about it and ohhhh those blond women. The good thing that helps me maintain what's left of my sanity is knowing that I'm only here for hopefully 2 years at the max then it's back to Washington and much more normal life. At least here too, it's a quicker trip down to spring training.
  13. Joe South, 72. He is perhaps best known for the song ‘‘Games People Play,’’ which reached No. 12 on the Billboard charts in 1969 and won him two Grammys for Best Contemporary Song and Song of the Year. The opening lines evoked the message songs of the era: ‘‘Oh the games people play now, every night and every day now, never meaning what they say now, never saying what they mean.’’ The song, which was released on South’s debut album ‘‘Introspect,’’ spoke against hate, hypocrisy and inhumanity. South worked as a session guitar player on recordings of some of the biggest names of the 1960s — Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel, among others. But he had a string of hits of his own starting in the late 1960s that made his booming voice a familiar one on radio stations, with a style that some described as a mix of country and soul. He also had hits with ‘‘Walk A Mile In My Shoes’’ and ‘‘Don’t It Make You Want to Go Home,’’ and wrote the Grammy-nominated ‘‘(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden’’ for country singer Lynn Anderson. Earlier, South’s song ‘‘Down in the Boondocks’’ was a 1965 hit for singer Billy Joe Royal. He performed on Aretha Franklin’s ‘‘Chain of Fools,’’ as well as on Bob Dylan’s 1966 classic ‘‘Blonde on Blonde,’’ a triumphant mix of rock, blues and folk that Rolling Stone magazine ranked No. 9 on its greatest-ever albums list. The magazine credits ‘‘expert local sessionmen’’ with helping to create ‘‘an almost contradictory magnificence: a tightly wound tension around Dylan’s quicksilver language and incisive singing.’’
  14. I live in Orem, Utah just minutes from Utah Valley U. where the Orem Owlz (Angels affiliate) of the Pioneer League play. I really look forward to the Voyagers playing here every summer. Also, I'm not too far from Salt Lake where I can see Pacific Coast League games. This spring I saw Mike Trout play just before he got called up. Holy crap he was impressive!
  15. Admittedly I went with Michael Johnson over Basto mostly because I've seen him play and I like what I saw. Johnson is maybe not flashy but a good fielder and makes good contact at the plate. He hit the ball HARD. Yeah, Basto being just 18 should probably be on the list instead but I'll wait till I see a little better production at the plate from him.
  16. Hmm. I missed when McPherson left the Sox organization.
