2007 MLB Amateur Draft Thread

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) I'm sick of this constant bashing that the White Sox cannot do anything right. It is so extreme it's pathetic. So don't read it. -

Kenny Williams draft picks remind me of the Bears 90's Draft pick (ie Salamm, Enis, McNown, Trading for Mirer). And to think of the real players that could have been had. Clap, Calp. Way to improve scouting! Who's up for Round 2? -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) Yeah, as I've said, I'm not too upset -- there certaintly is projectability. I would have loved to have Smoker or Griffith, though. It's simple. If Poreda is a bust, we won't have to worry about the current collection of crosscheckers and scouts making any more decisions. If Minnesota or Detroit picks Smoker, Griffith, Harvey, or Porcello, we may be in trouble for quite a long time. The good news is Minnesota will not shell out the money for Porcello. Detroit and New York on the other hand... Let's see Jason Strumm, Royce Ring, Scott Ruffcorn, Kris Honel, and Poreda -
cough cough, Scott Ruffcorn.

Fabulous! Another guy with arm trouble. Maybe we can sign Wood and Prior this off season to go with him. -

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 09:20 PM) This keeps up....fire sale is right around the corner. The two scapegoats have already left. Nobody else, player or coach, is leaving this team. -

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) javys pitching? are u serious? last outing, he went 8 and gave up no runs, and this game, he has given up 4 runs. sure, that isnt GREAT, but with the offense that we should have right now, 4 runs is a good game, b/c konerko, thome, and dye should all be hitting at least 275 right now Oh yeah. Those 1.5 good outtings completely change my mind. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 09:08 PM) Let's see.....Owens gets a bad jump, Cabrera is playing shallow and has an amazing arm, there's one out, and the Sox are down 3 with your best power hitter on deck. I hope no one would have been complaining if he held him. I am more focused on complaining about A) the lack of offense B ) the big hitters sucking ass C) the bullpen D) the manager and coaches (also hitting coach) E) the gm's offseason acquisitions F) the lack of decent replacements in the minors G) Javy's new deal and the way he pitches ... I think that is it. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) Wow, more stupid coaching. I can't wait for this whole coaching staff to be fired. Normally I agree with most things you say. While I wish there was some hope of this, it just will not happen. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) They'd have no problem pulling him up....pulling is the one thing they know how to do. OUCH!!! Walker would lead the charge out and let Uribe take the first shot only to drop Dye three times while trying to throw him into the dugout. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 08:50 PM) Dye fell down. I had these flashbacks to the old lady falling down, pessing the medic alert button. I have fallen and I cant get up. The rest of the team might be too lethargic to help Dye not die though. -

The Message board sure is quite when the team sucks ass. I remember how much fun it used to be when we had a competitive team. Sigh.... -

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 08:20 PM) Seeing JD "run" for that ball made me cry. How about a motorized wheelchairs or those scooters that fat or old people use in the grocery store for Dye? That might speed things up. -

The problem with exchanging two outs for a run is the inability of certain hitters like to Dye to do anything but K or fly out. -
