Official ST Game Thread Sox vs Cubs, 3/4/07
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to WinningUgly85's topic in 2007 Season in Review
Good to see the Cubs are already in midseason form. More importantly, it was good to see the pitching looking good today. -

Pinella has gone from managing the Yankees, to Champion Reds, to Playoff team Mariners. Then he goes to Tampa before the ultimate insult, managing the Cubs. I see a pattern here. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) Why not hit a Cub for retribution. Have a little fun. How about with a bus? -

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) Leave Santo alone, it was a tough week for him. If Mayor Daley were in control of that election ... Well ... Santo still would not have won. -

Cubs announcers rubbing our face in a third place finish. Talk about being in an ass kicking contest with a one legged man. -

If the Arizona air is so bad for pitchers, why did we ever leave Florida? -
Perhaps one of my tech savy friends here could draw up a chart with line graph. In proportion the more votes Santo gets, the less games the Cubs win in the following seasons. I am hoping for a 45 win season for the cubs this year.

2007 White Sox Predictions Thread
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 02:25 PM) Prediction: It's June and the Sox are lurking near the top of the division. Suddenly, Pods re-injures his groin. Just before the break, Erstad's hammy takes him down as he dives for a gapper (and makes the catch). Fans dive into foxholes. Yet additions Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney, who've been tearing it up in Charlotte, spark the lineup. Suddenly team speed becomes a factor again. The pitching responds and the team rides a wave of momentum into September. Yet the Tigers, as predicted, match them every step of the way. The last 3 games of the season will determine the division winner. On Sunday afternoon, Pablo Ozuna sticks his bat out and slices a Joel Zumaya fastball just inside the fairpole in right. Sox win. Detroit accepts the role as Wild Card and travels to Boston, where they promptly dispose of the overhyped carmines. Erstad haunts his old team as the Sox trounce the Angels. Sox meet the Tigers in the ALCS. Despite the build-up and national attention given to this series, it proves to be no contest. Sox sweep, and move on to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in a re-match of the '59 series. I'll buy the rights to that storyline. -
Britney Spears Shaves Head, Gets Tattoos
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to DrunkBomber's topic in SLaM
I felt old when I realized Kurt Cobain would have been 40 Monday. Here's how I related that factoid to this thread. Knowing Britney is 25, will she live a longer life than Cobain's 27? -

Not a lot of optimism here for the apparent last year before the real rebuilding begins. -
QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Feb 19, 2007 -> 11:58 AM) THE BIBLE DONT SAY NOTHIN ABOUT NO DINOSAURS! I had the same reaction to the Carl Everett reference.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) What is our payroll for 2007 going to be? WIth the anticipated mass exodus of veterans in the next few seasons, it may not be unreasonable to suggest we may be in the same range as the Marlins.

I remember him giving up 3 runs in the 10th to the Mariners in Game 1 of the ALDS. He got the loss, but it certainly was not all his fault that we lost that game or the series.

KW is seriously starting to piss me off. But the last time he pissed me off like this, he signed Count and Garland to extension within weeks of saying they would not be offered extension. I hope to have another opportunity to call KW out on "Who you Crappin'" soon.

Mr. Belding, Tony Romo, and Journey
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to greasywheels121's topic in SLaM
Not that Journey did not suck before, but Journey songs defy the laws of physics by managing to both suck and blow without Steve Perry. -
Kerry Wood falls out of Hot tub

Somewhere a Cardinals fans is likely making a spoof of this already. ... Perhaps Kerry Wood should be cryogenically frozen until scientists can find a way to protect him from himself. -
Zambrano: Sign me before the season starts or I'm out
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to CSF's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 04:28 PM) Bull. He sucked in April, and got plenty of run support when he faced us. Webb won it last year (had better numbers) yet I still think it could've been Oswalt, and it should've been Carpenter. His WHIP was the same as Javy's and higher than Garcia's, of course they faced much tougher opponents. Take a deep breathe. I said MAY have won the Cy Young. I never said he should have nor did I say he was the best pitcher in the NL. But lets not let the facts get in the way of the truth. -
Zambrano: Sign me before the season starts or I'm out
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to CSF's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 06:49 AM) Zito has a Cy Young and more playoff experience. That gives him more leverage in $$$. While Zito does have playoff experience (not much beyond the divisional series), the fact that Zambrano is winningest pitcher for the lowly Cubs over the last several years counts for something. Were it not for a lack of run support and lack of pitching well in the final weeks of the season, Zambrano may have won the Cy Young last year. -
Zambrano: Sign me before the season starts or I'm out
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to CSF's topic in The Diamond Club
If Zito is worth $18 Mil, Zambrano has to worth $20 mil. Without his domination of the White Sox factored in, Zito stats are not nearly as good. -
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) I have tickets in section 103...awesome seats. They are doiong a presale for AMEX card holders...the official sale starts on saturday. its june 9th at the UC Although I am glad to be an AMEX member, I am kinda sad that Waters does these presale things. Kinda smells of corperate sell out. ... I'll be 2 sections over in 105.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 3, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) I thought this was about the pop. And now I'm thirsty, and disappointed. Actually, I was expecting a Coca-Cola thread too.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) You should be banned solely because your request involves an interview conducted on Jim Rome's atrocious radio show. If only Jim Rome Actually was burning.

QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) I really dont think this troop surge is a good idea at all. Far as I can see we should be stepping back into a training role and letting the Iraqi's deal with these insurgents. They've got to do it sometime and the longer we hold their hand at it the worse off we're gonna be in the long run. Im defenitely not for cutting and running but it's time we pulled back. I could not have said it better myself.

Perhaps he is leading up to another big Cubs signing like Jim Parque.
