Wow, the Indians already have to make 3 games up
Off days are at a premium, so trying to make up 4 games is going to be rough. If you do doubleheaders, you have to spot start some pitchers to keep the rotation on schedule. Just glad the Sox don't have that many to make up.

White Sox vs. A's, 4/09/07 (W)
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 06:20 PM) Ozzie said on chisox.com that BA will start one of the games in this series. Probably tomorrow against Kennedy. Hopefully, Jose shows up and eat some innings. 1 win in Oakland will be good. Especially since we are unsure if Buehrle is going yet in game 3. The projected starters are: Harden Gaudin (in for Loaiza) Kennedy so if BA is going to go in for Pods, it will more than likely be game 3.

Would you be happy with 1 of 3?
It used to be Zito, Harden, and Haren, or the Big 3 before that. They are now down to Harden, Gaudin, and Kennedy. The Sox should be able to take 2 of 3. It seems like the pitching is coming around, but the heart of the order needs to step up. Thome and Dye have looked pretty bad so far.

Brad Lidge
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) Yeah, it's fairly obvious that the 9th inning blast by Pujols in game 4 of the ALDS destroyed Brad Lidge's confidence. That's weird, I thought they both played in the NL?

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) A White Sox pitcher pitching well in his major league debut? WOWIt is nice to see, and the way Masset pitched, that trade is looking really good.

White Sox vs. Twins, 4/7/07 (W)
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) Can someone explain exactly what just happened for those of us relying on gameday? After coach visits the mound, they catch Pods too far off the bag and try a pickoff. Ball goes past the base and he scores. Pods was not runing full speed until he saw Shines waving him in, so it was pretty close at home.

So does Jenks start the 9th vs Mauer, or does Thornton come back out?

White Sox vs. Twins, 4/7/07 (W)
The last time Vazquez started a game and only allowed 1 hit and 0 runs..... Sept. 14th, 1999.

White Sox vs. Twins, 4/7/07 (W)
Vazquez still looking strong after 6.

White Sox vs. Twins, 4/7/07 (W)
Vazquez looking good. Top of the order up in the 6th. Big test coming up, but so far, he looks solid.

Is Contreras Done?
Shoota, opening day looked more like he got caught between his arm angles and was just trying to get it over the plate. When he did, he got rocked. His velocity was not that bad. He never looked comfortable. If he looks this bad or anything close in his next start, then I would worry.

Revisiting Hawk Harrelson
Hawk is great, you know what you are going to get from him, and that is the fun of it. He adds a little flavor to the game.

Masset's Fastball
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) Well, I hope we see it soon enough, because I didn't see much of it in spring training. I was looking at the gameday speeds, and I think they were much more accurate then the game's radar gun. It really didn't look to me that Masset was only topping out at 91, Thornton at 94, MacDougal at 90, and Jenks at 93. According to gameday, Masset topped out at 94, Thornton at 97, MacDougal at 96, and Jenks at 97, and those are much more accurate, IMO. Thornton and MacDougal were at about their normal speeds according to gameday, but Masset and Jenks will hopefully be throwing 2-4 mph faster come next week or so. Yeah, if they are throwing those numbers now, you can figure they will add a few on over the next few weeks. Which is awesome to think about, having that many guys hitting 95+ in the pen.

Masset's Fastball
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) Hmmm??? That makes absolute no sense, no offense of course. That homer he gave up to Michaels wasn't because it was in Michael's hot zone, it was because Michaels yanked his hands in, and got the barrell of the bat out and just hit a homer. That was actually perfect location, but like Hawk did say, Masset just got beat. My question is where is this 97-98 mph fastball he supposedly has? No one is up to their normal speeds yet. Give it another week or two.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Nice to notch one in the win column. Once Thome, Paulie, and Dye start hitting, this team will catch on fire.
