  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) There are always a few losers. No question about it. And I certainly see no reason for people here to respond as nastily to the Cub fan as they have, flinging insults. But before his post, the great majority of posts were not offensive or cheering the injury. I agree in this thread. But it's happened in the past so it's not like his claim is out in left field. Hell.. just wander over to any Bonds thread. :rolly
  2. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) Sorry to waste your time. I just received it in my email and never saw it before. Meow, hiss, hiss...
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 10:04 AM) Ocassionally you'll see people out there with kids, I can't walk away from that. Me neither. I give most of the time even thought most of them probably make more than I do...
  4. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) Dude. Most people on this board have said specifically they feel badly about DLee, and anything negative they said (most people) is that its good we don't have to face him, which is a complement. If you want to see some serious anti-Cub sentiments, go over to WSI. But some have been nasty. A few of his points are dead on.
  5. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) Thanks Steff, I guess I will just have to leave for work a few mins early, and stop by the White Hen. Good thing there is one right by my work. Do you need the coupon everyday? Or does that depend on the White Hen you go to? Depends. Some are asses, some aren't.
  6. Dear Friend, I have the distinguished honor of being on the committee to raise $5,000,000 for a monument of George W. Bush. We originally wanted to put him on Mt. Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for two more faces. We then decided to erect a statue of George in the Washington, D. C. Hall Of Fame. We were in a quandary as to where the statue should be placed. It was not proper to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside Jesse Jackson, who never told the truth, since George could never tell the difference. We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Republican of them all. He left not knowing where he was going and, when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been, and did it all on someone else's money. Thank you. George W. Bush Monument. Committee P. S. The Committee has raised $1.35 so far.
  7. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) Is there anyway you can buy them all at once, instead of having to go to white hen every single day for 3 weeks? No guarantee, but after the Bears promo ended they did offer a day you could buy them all. But it depends on the left over supply. I have a feeling there wont be much of these left after the initial sale, so you are probably better off going every day - and in the morning just to be sure.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 09:12 AM) Steff two days later and I still giggle like a school girl at your avatar Me 2.
  9. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 09:14 AM) I had a pretty cool old lady at my white hen. She would give me the past days if she had them. New owners now though...so who knows this time. I ended up going to the Hen over by the mall every Sunday and getting the weeks worth rather than dealing with it. We have new owners at the one on 126 & 59. I'm going to have to set them straight tomorrow on how I expect the sale of these things to do down...
  10. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ So good And yeah, noodles... not like spaghetti noodles but im talkin bout like maccaroni noodles.. its awesome That makes it Chili-Mac, no?
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 09:01 AM) This may be the best homework thread since a father was helping his daughter I'm guessing as a group we could never, ever, write a thesis as a group. Not a snowballs chance in hell...
  12. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 08:58 AM) I think the entire construction is over-hyped. From Tinley we got to the game in 30 mins, and got home in 25 mins last monday night. It wasnt bad at all. Good for the Sox fans..
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) Im going to the game... my only problem is lol I dont know how to get there not using the Dan Ryan. It really has not been that bad at all, so ya might as well take it.
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 08:44 AM) This thread makes me cringe with every post. And yet, I can't stay away... Ditto. The phrase "dumb it down" comes to mind.
  15. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 08:29 AM) They have done it the last couple years with the Bears too. they were commerative coins that went into a cardboard sleeve. I don't remember if they were 3 bucks each though. $2.49 each, and the process was a mess at some White Hen's who's owners and employees were assholes. Must only sell this one, can't go back a day, must have your coupon... good grief, do you want my $$ or not..? I got 2 full sets of them.
  16. Remember that cheeta... Chester.. that did the Cheeto's commercials..? And he did that head shaking thing and made that "ieeeieeeieeee" noise...? I just did that..
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) Ugh. 5 years at 13 per for a guy that only sees the field once every 5 days makes me nervous, even if it is Buehrle. I know pitching is at a premium, especially a sturdy lefty, but damn. Seriously. This aint Santana we're talking about here..
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Of course, this whole discussion will be void if he starts producing at the plate. My biggest concern right now is that I don't see how he can ever start getting hits. His swing is awful....and sadly reminds me of an NL pitcher trying to hit. The main reason that a stint in the minors might do him well would be to get his confidence up again. There's a lot of ABs to go before that becomes a realistic option though. And for anyone saying that going to the minors can't help someone....I'd like to use McCarthy from last season as a great example of finding your confidence and form in the minors. I think going down to get work on pitching is much different than going down for hitting work. JMO though. I definitely see where you are coming from though.
  19. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) Like I said in the other BA thread, I see a hitch in his hitting approach. He strides, plants the front foot, then hesitates there for just a fraction of a second. Then, he starts moving again into his swing. This puts him behind the pitches, and diminishes his power. Anyone else noticed that hesitation? Its like he is trying to get a better read on the pitch or something. I have the games tivo'd but haven't watched them close enough to see this. I'll look for it now, but if that's what he's doing then you are right and it absolutely has something to do with his issues.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:54 AM) Steff....wouldn't you say that we have more of a sense of urgency now compared to back then? Also, it's easier to find a serviceable center fielder for a few months than it is a starting third baseman. Well... yes. Catch 22 though. Like others have said, he could break out of this and hit the s*** out of the ball. I don't think playing with AAA pitching is going to bring that to the surface. All I do know is I'm glad this is the main concern right now. Hey.. look at that. My new avatar is working. Thanks A..
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) Of course.....but we have a GM, Manager, and Owner who have one goal in mind this season. If we didn't have our hopes set on repeating, then I'd say they'd be nuts to not let Anderson develop in the majors. I definitely agree with you. I just think that they will work a bit more with him as long as they are winning.
  22. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) I don't see why we should treat Anderson any differently than we treated Crede. The Sox were very tolerant of Crede in his first few years.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) Anderson won't have until the All-Star Break if he keeps struggling. If he's still struggling to make contact and not producing by the end of May, we'll be seeing a new CF with the White Sox. KW and Ozzie aren't going to sit around this season waiting for a rookie to try and "get it". If he's not hurting them and they are still winning I think they will be a lot more tolerable of his time frame to "get it". Several other teams would LOVE to have this problem.
  24. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) I dont like change Steff! To be honest with you, I didnt have a calculator by me, so having a rounded number was easier to subtract it in my check register But anyway, Thanks again Steff for the tickets, everything went very smooth, sent me PM's when she sent the tickets, and when she got my check. Nothing but a pleasure to do business with. Thanks again Steff LOL... I do the same thing in my checkbook. I round everything up and Jim hates it. But it's nice when I balance the checkbook and have an extra few bucks in there.. Pleasure doing business with you also. I have the SC info for you and I'll PM that today.
  25. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:30 AM) I don't know about that, you'd have to be a pretty good diver. If you went into a spin and hit the water at a wierd angle, you'be ass out. I'm a pretty good swimmer but aside from the dangers of diving in I would be afraid of the jumper pulling me under.
