  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Or Felix Hernandez. If Brian was as bad as you make him out to be(or half this board),he wouldnt be in CF for the Sox, plain and simple. He is a rookie in a slump, trying to find himself at the plate. See, us fans who dont give up on players after the 1st week like to see improvement with the players the Sox, and B.A. with a solid AB late in the ballgame was a good sign. Im sorry its fun for you to watch him K. I don't think he, or the other half of the board, is giving up on him. I also don't see anything wrong with pointing out the obvious and discussing it. Why the hate for someone getting on Brian - constructively at that... but the 15 Jon sucks ass threads last week...?
  2. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) You're as bad a Jeckle... He's just saying what a lot of us are thinking about.
  3. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) But I will say I luv the newfound national attention. Brings a smile to my face when hearing national media discussing Buerhle's tarp-sliding and A.J.'s hair. Jim's mom, a lifelong Cub fan (a real one), knows more about the Sox than she ever did before because of this.
  4. QUOTE(TornLabrum @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) Why exactly do you think those mocking posts were sent to the ****house? So they weren't "misstatements or exaggerations"... Hal, it's got nothing to do with you or the rest of the mods over there. It has to do with the bad apples. So don't take it so personally. The point is that those that were the targets weren't lying as was implied.

    Soprano's Sunday...

    QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 05:07 PM) I remember seeing that pic a couple months ago Steff. I don't think Vito will kill himself, but he will probably get whacked. There's at least no way he could come back into the "family". He's on the credits until episode 9 so he must be able to hide well.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) No chance. You say the burbs to me and you might as well be saying Mars. Thx though. LOL.. It's right off 88, not too hard to get to.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) where is Jenks on Thurs.??? IIRC, Yorktown Mall
  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) But a LOT of men were put away for rape prior to DNA testing, on what evidence? Like I said above.. there doesn't seem to be sources for that information. It seems you would need to have a specific case to look up where a conviction prior to DNA introduction took place. Google and Yahoo did not provide anything.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) I know this wasn't that long ago, but It's funny how quickly I get used to things. Prior to DNA evidence being used in court, what evidence was used to prosecute rapists? Bruising? Medical evidence of penetration? How was it linked to the specific individuals that were convicted? You can hardly find info about prosecuting before DNA, but like Balta said I would guess it was based mainly on a witness and credibility of the accuser.
  10. Nevermind, I found it. No online shopping. What kind of store in 2006 doesn't have online shopping..
  11. A baby store called "Tales and Toys"? A friend registered there and I can't find a web site for it. TIA. Steff
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) I would just like to say in people's defense that a Monday nite in May is a horrible time to have this outing and expect 300 people to show. People have to work, there are people still away at college, and kids are still in high school. It was unrealistic to expect a big turnout with those circumstances. I know it looks bad, but the date picking was awful. There are lots of proms, finals, field trips, work etc that make this impossible for a lot of people. Can't blame the Sox for the date. 2 dates were given and the WSI majority picked 5/22 for Frank's return.
  13. Asshole! UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A man threw a microwave at his girlfriend, then fatally beat her after she refused to heat up sandwiches, police said. Walter S. Fordyce, 58, of Uniontown, remained jailed without bond Thursday on a charge of criminal homicide. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney. Fordyce told police he began arguing with his live-in girlfriend, Mary McCann, 58, early Thursday. After throwing her to the floor, Fordyce threw a microwave oven onto McCann's chest after she refused to heat up sandwiches for him, he told police. Fordyce also said he stomped on McCann's chest repeatedly then banged her head on the floor until she lost consciousness -- but that he also said he didn't mean to kill her, police said. It was an accident. I didn't do it on purpose," police quoted Fordyce as saying. Fordyce ran to a neighbor's house for help, but couldn't find anyone there to call 911, police said. After returning home and checking McCann for a pulse -- and finding none -- he went downstairs and drank a beer before going to another neighbor's home and asking them to call 911, police said. Autopsy results were not immediately available.
  14. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Does anyone remember a Sammy HR ball hitting the wall just below the fan deck a few years ago? That wasn't nearly as impressive as when he hit 2 OUT of Miller Park during the HR derby. Anyone there when Bonds hit one to the concourse and it bounced out during BP 2 years ago?
  15. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Socks are still optional, right? LMAO
  16. QUOTE(Mantastic @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) This is baseball! I hate the whole corporate mentality when it comes to a game for kids. There's a different set of rules when it comes to sports. If you got into a fight at work, you'd be thrown in jail, but when a hitter charges a pitcher then they're suspended. It's a different standard across the board, so you can't compare working at best buy and playing baseball professionally. A uniform is a uniform regardless of the job, and that uniform is dictated by the employer. If Jerry wants them to wear pink bows in their hair.. they will wear pink bows. This is about presentation, not about beating up a co-worker versus charging the mound - which, by the way, could land the charging player in jail if he makes contact and the pitcher chooses to press charges. If you're going to make an argument at least compare the same fruit. Every team in baseball has a set of rules for how their "employees" look. It's not a big deal. Who brought this up anyway... AJ or one of the douchebag reporters on the Score?
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 03:08 PM) But the key problem is proof. If 5 people go to the police and say that you're using an illegal drug, but the police search your house, person, and all your possessions, and find nothing illegal, and you don't fail any drug tests, is that enough to charge you? Without the hard evidence I don't think they can, but perhaps i'm mistaken. FWIU, usage of the C&C is covered under the immunity agreement, thus not able to be used against him.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) Awesome. Its shallow at best but hopefully justice is done for the family who died so that Ryan could get elected. I don't feel this does anything for them - not that anything could make up for the loss of life. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they didn't get him on anything relating to the fake licenses. If they had, he might of at least been able to be sued for wrongfull death, correct?

  20. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) since when does hair correlate to personality? ^^^^
  21. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) Then again, JR is notoriously corporate and about appearance. A woman I know who used to work there talked about how strict the dress code was. They are pretty casual in the front office.
