http://kutv.com/topstories/local_story_102233636.html Child Found Clinging To Bottom Of Moving Car Save It E-mail It Print It (KUTV) MAPLETON A simple game of "hide and seek" nearly turned deadly Wednesday for a four-year-old boy in Utah County. It happened when the child chose a very dangerous place to hide near his home in Mapleton. He crawled up underneath a car just as the driver got behind the wheel. "So I actually looked in my car, I never thought to look under my car," said Robyn Stone. Taylor Harris was playing at a neighbor's house when he found what looked like a great hiding spot hanging from the underside of a minivan. "Unbeknown by any of us, Taylor had wedged himself up, under the car, and was holding onto a bar playing hide and go seek,” said Taylor’s mother Rachel Harris. When no one could find him frantic family and friends spread-out in every direction to search. "A lot of the neighbors were driving around looking for him," said Rachel. “I was driving down to a construction site I thought maybe they had seen them," recounts Robyn. But what neighbor Robyn Stone didn't know was that Taylor was desperately holding on just feet behind her seat. As she was driving around, she slowed just enough to hear a sound. "I was crying," said Taylor. "So I turned around, and at that point I started to hear him cry," said Robyn, crying herself as she thought about what could have happened to Taylor. Robyn jumped out of her car, and there was little Taylor crawling out from under the rear bumper. "…And I looked under, he had finally – I guess exhausted – finally he laid down. I pulled him out and just was so thankful that he was in one piece,” said Robyn. At speeds up to 40 miles-per-hour, the frightened four-year-old clung to dear life. "It looks like he wrapped his arms around the rear wheel shaft of the car between the back two tires and had stuck his feet up between the spare tire and the bottom of the car," said Rachel. "Crawled under the car, and started to go and I was under the car," said Taylor. After his bumpy ride Taylor didn't have a scratch on him. This story also shows how kids can crawl into places many of us wouldn't think to look for them. Taylor's family called it a miracle that he wasn't hurt.

QUOTE(White Sox Fan For Life @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 09:42 AM) Actually I am not the one who changed this topic it was the people who responded to this thread. I was just hoping to see how many people believe if curses exist in baseball so that I can use this information as a survey in my paper. Also I am not asking White Sox fans to give me excuses for Red Sox fans I was just trying to let you know my point of view in my last post in this thread. Gotcha.

QUOTE(White Sox Fan For Life @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) Well I am just trying to tell your friend Kyle, that if there was a curse that night than Buckner would have never heard any crap from Red Sox fans. Also it has to think about it psychologically maybe the Red Sox were feeling very nervous about being so close to win the World Series in game 6, that they let their nervousness get the best of them. That could be a possible factor why they didn't win game 6 but not for no curse. What it looks like to me is you're asking a White Sox fan to come up with some excuse as to the reaction of Red Sox fans in that situation... when, IMO, White Sox fans don't really give a crap how or what they - Red Sox fans - felt. You've changed the question from the start of your thread. For the record, I think curses are BS.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) The strongest bond between parent and child is solidified right after birth. I guess they can just forget that s***. Exactly. Right after birth the mother gets the child and it stops crying until it's taken away for weight, bath, etc.

QUOTE(White Sox Fan For Life @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) But you also need to ask yourself if Boston Fans really believe in the Curse of the Great Bambino? And if those fans believed that the Curse was alive on October 25 then why was Buckner never grant any leniency like Alex Gonzalez who bobbled the ball too in game 6 of the NLCS? Why did Buckner have to leave his home in New England and move to Idaho because he was sick and tired of hearing crap. Buckner even states this in Sports Illustrated magazine that was released on July 26, 1993 "At least once a week during the season, something is said...Why put up with it?" How come Red Sox fans didn't turn their cheek and say "it's okay it wasn't your fault that we lost game 6 it was the curse?" The Red Sox also had one more chance too. Maybe head over to a Red Sox site and ask them...?

QUOTE(juddling @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 08:46 AM) and one fast bankrupcy ends any money you might get as a result of it. Judgements are not discharged in BK. Not that it matters. Plenty of other ways to hide money - as OJ Simpson has mastered.

One here. My kid or a kid I'm caring for hits their head on a floor, table, whatever, enough to leave a bruise - which is blood forming under the surface, and I'm taking them to the ER for an x-ray.

Don't know of a media outlet that doesn't take liberty with "source" information. Peter Jennings knows a thing or two about that... Back to the point, six days before getting an x-ray of his skull, which was obviously injured. I think the answer of how good her parenting skills is obvious.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060412/ap_en_mu/obit_pointer June Pointer of the Pointer Sisters Dies By DAISY NGUYEN, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 6 minutes ago LOS ANGELES - June Pointer, the youngest of the singing Pointer Sisters known for the 1970s and 1980s hits "I'm So Excited," "Fire," and "Slow Hand," has died, her family said Wednesday. She was 52. Pointer died of cancer Tuesday at Santa Monica University of California, Los Angeles, Medical Center, the family said in a statement. She had been hospitalized since late February and the type of cancer wasn't disclosed. She died "in the arms of her sisters, Ruth and Anita and her brothers, Aaron and Fritz, by her side," the family statement read. "Although her sister, Bonnie, was unable to be present, she was with her in spirit." The Pointer Sisters began as a quartet in the early 1970s with sisters Ruth, Anita, Bonnie and June. The group became a trio when Bonnie embarked on a solo career. The group's hits also included "He's So Shy," "Automatic" and "Jump (For My Love)." The sisters, along with their two older brothers, grew up singing in the choir of an Oakland church where their parents were ministers. Bonnie and June formed a singing duo and began performing in clubs around the San Francisco Bay area. Anita and Ruth later joined the group and together, they sang backup for Taj Mahal, Boz Scaggs and Elvin Bishop, among others. Their first, self-titled album, "The Pointer Sisters," debuted in 1973 and the song "Yes We Can Can" became their first hit. They followed up with the album "That's A Plenty," which featured an eclectic mix of musical styles ranging from jazz to country and pop. They won the first of their three Grammy awards in 1974 for best country vocal performance by a group for the song "Fairytale." Bonnie left the group in 1977, and the sisters recorded several more albums, scoring several hit songs that became identified as the soundtrack of the 1980s. The successful 1984 album "Break Out" earned two Grammy awards for the songs "Automatic" and "Jump (For My Love)." The album's other hit song, "Neutron Dance," was prominently featured in the movie "Beverly Hills Cop." June recorded two solo albums, and later left the trio. Anita and Ruth still perform under the group's name. Ruth's daughter, Issa Pointer, is the trio's newest member.

I think Brian will be fine. He got caught up in the moment and wanted to hit it 500 feet. I don't think he does that consistantly at all. Funny thing happened at lunch. I ran into Jewel at Mannheim and 22nd to get some fruit for lunch and was listening to my XM portable.. Obama was there for some appearance and came over to ask the score.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 02:38 AM) Does anyone notice the legit source says nothing about a scull injury... I'm sorry but until I read something saying the baby is injuried in something more reliable then a tabloid then i'm going to assume it's bulls*** like everything else they say... I mean if this kid were injured don't you think a more legit source would of picked up on it... You'd be hard pressed to find a "story" from the Star Mag that isn't true over the past year. They broke both Katie Holmes and Angelina's pregnancies weeks before anyone else. Just because they get it first, doesn't mean it's bulls***. From Yahoo and the AP: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060412/ap_en_...DRrBHNlYwM3NjI- Reports: Spears' Son Fell From High Chair Wed Apr 12, 6:02 AM ET MALIBU, Calif. - Child welfare officials and a sheriff's deputy visited Britney Spears' home because her infant son was accidentally dropped from a high chair, People Magazine and the Los Angeles Times reported. Six-month-old Sean Preston fell April 1 as his nanny was lifting him from the high chair and something in the chair snapped, People said Wednesday on its Web site. The infant slipped from her arms and fell, bruising his head on the floor, the magazine said. Though a doctor examined the baby at the house, Spears and husband Kevin Federline took the baby to the emergency room to have him examined six days later, the report said. Spears' attorney, Martin Singer, said in a statement that the hospital made a report to the Department of Children and Family Services as required by state law.
