  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Sportsman of the YEAR award. SPORTSMAN, not PR disaster.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) I thought for sure Willis would win, seeing as he had a better ERA, more wins, and Carpenter's September was pretty miserable. But alas, Carpenter overall still had quite a year, so congrats to him. Willis had more losses also. Carpenter sure has made one hell of a come back.. that's for sure.
  3. Sounds like they are referring to his actions in Jaunary. Good choice, IMO.

  8. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) I always liked Albert. I didn't care what the media said about him. I seriously always thought he was just a guy with a ton of talent, but didn't want the fame, and he always seemed like a pretty shy guy. Sometimes shyness can be mistaken for arrogance. I know this from a personal stand. I'm VERY shy and don't react in crowds well at all, or with the "spotlight" (unless I am on stage with my guitar strapped on). So I tend to run from people and situations, and for years in the bands people thought I had a bad ego problem. I saw that same thing in Belle, I always thought. Pretty accurate assesment.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Is there a pic available of this woman? At the link above.

If you mean the former.. there is a little burger stand next to jimbo's.. they had official stuff there for less then the park during the WS. If you're driving in that area maybe take a look there.
  18. http://www.wral.com/family/5230888/detail.html Woman Puts Her House, Herself For Sale UPDATED: 12:29 pm EST November 3, 2005 DENVER -- Deborah Hale is selling her $600,000 brick bungalow on eBay. The home was built in 1910, has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a tanning bed and a hot tub. Furnishings include a big screen TV, lawn tools and a lawn mower. To sweeten the deal, Hale is including herself in the sale, Denver television station KMGH reported. The 48-year-old Albuquerque woman, who runs her own wholesale jewelry business, said the offer for a bride is non-binding, which means that neither party is obligated to complete the transaction. Hale said her online auction is just one way for her to meet new and interesting people. Having been married once before, Hale said women her age have to try harder to meet men and she's hoping the exposure will allow her to possibly meet the man of her dreams. "Ideally, I would like for him to be between the ages of 40 and 60. I would like for him to be intelligent. I really love intelligent men. A man who could cook would be wonderful because I am not a great cook," Hale said. Hale also wants Mr. Right to be adventurous, kind, physically fit and generous. He has to have a professional career, should love to travel and children from a previous relationship are welcome, she said. As for the wife that goes with the house, Hale is Norwegian, college-educated, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 110 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. On her Web site, she describes herself as a nonsmoking daughter of a minister who loves trying new things like scuba diving and skydiving. She said she tried online dating but it was too time-consuming, so she turned to the online auction idea. Hale currently lives in New Mexico, but she bought the Denver home because she was looking to get away from the stress of her work life. She said she spent a year remodeling the 1,847-square foot home and thinks what would truly complete it is a happy couple living in it. Bidding for the house will end on Valentine's Day 2006. Hale has hired a Los Angeles public relations firm to help her sort through the applicants. To learn more about the house, or Hale, go to HousewithBride.com.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) Hello, SS2k, Steff, Kap, anyone? Hell even Nuke would work at this point. LMAO.. Nuke's letter.. TWIMC... I'd like to work for you. I like to blow s*** up. First, do some research on the company. These days it's easy to find a companies plan - mission statement - to see if you fit. Then focus on your skills, what you bring to the table, your asset to the position, etc.. Briefly touch on your exp (refer to your attached resume, i.e.. as you can see from my attached resume I have extensive experience in this, this, and this, and feel with those skills would be an asset to your organization by... doing this, that and the other, etc..). Good to also have a objective detailed. Also, I am working on a response to your previous questions. For some reason I'm busy with work today.. LOL.
  20. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) You might have dated Belle...but I heckled his ass from the Bullpen Sports bar. LMAO... So it was YOU that effed up my dinner.
  21. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) Name dropper...and I once was friends with a girl, who slept with Chris Crawford, from the Marquette Men's basketball team, who looks a lot like Paul Konerko. True story. I think mentioning my past with Belle is way past name dropping at this point.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) Reported by two different radio stations during the following offseason. Is it accurate? Who knows. The people saying it sure seemed like they had inside information. But in all honesty, a lot of people on here, including you and myself, receive inside information from different sources. A lot of the time, it ends up being false. However, it doesn't mean that the posters should get ripped on for sharing the information that they've been told/heard. These aren't the type of rumors like "I was walking in the airport, and overheard KW on the phone, etc.". I'm not ripping you, I am asking you for some sort of source, that IMO would be there if such comments were made - just like Mark's have been well documented. I've followed Kenny's career closely - due to his friendship with someone I am close to - and I've never heard such a thing. Not that it matters. If Kenny could help the team, he'd be here. It would be stupid to think otherwise.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) Well, you never hear stories about how Buehrle doesn't feel right playing for the Sox because he's a Cardinals fan. These are the exact type of stories that were said about Lofton after the season in which he played for the White Sox. Link... ? Cause for some crazy reason.. I've never heard this and I've been following Kenny's career since Cleveland.
