  6. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 19, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) The Catholic Church officially asserts that all conception and procreation ought to occur as the result of marital sexual intercourse. That said, here's the introductory line of scholarly and less absolute Catholic thought on the subject from a very good review at American Catholic: http://www.americancatholic.org/Messenger/...97/feature1.asp Lots of divergent opinions from various Church figures follow in the complete piece. But when you go to them for guidance.. they suggest you go see your doctors.
  7. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 19, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) See, this is sweet! Thank you folk! I 'ppreciate it. Just got back from Star Wars (badd ass flick it is), and am on my way out for some BBQ. Tradition dictates I go to Famous Daves. Critic, my taste in tunes is changing in an odd way indeed! But I did find a VERY cool band today called The Inmates. Cool stuff, kind of a mix of Rolling Stones, Thorogood, and the 70's UK Punk scene. Neat stuff. The album is from '79, but it still rocks! Thanks again kids. LOL... Yer gettin' up there. Have a good one.

    The Mob at Shea..

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/311000p-266052c.html Mets worker held in 360M gamble plot BY SCOTT SHIFREL, ADAM RUBIN and DAVE GOLDINER DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS Dominick Valila, the head groundskeeper at Shea Stadium, was accused yesterday of helping run a Mafia gambling ring. Shea it ain't so: A Mets groundskeeper allegedly helped run a $360 million Mafia gambling ring, taking bets right inside the stadium. Head groundskeeper Dominick Valila was charged yesterday with booking hundreds of thousands of dollars in bets - including some placed by Mets clubhouse manager Nick Priore, sources said. "Anybody who made bets who we could possibly identify would be a witness," said one source familiar with the case, suggesting that the bettors would not be charged. Queens District Attorney Richard Brown stressed that no players or other Mets staffers have so far been identified as placing any of the 2,000 bets a day that flooded the ring, which was tied to the Bonanno crime family. "But we have a lot of records to go through," said Brown, a die-hard Mets fan. Betting is banned at major league ballparks and players caught gambling would face disciplinary action. A spokesman for Major League Baseball said the commissioner's office and the Mets will launch their own probe to root out gambling at Shea. "The allegations are disturbing," said Patrick Courtney, the spokesman. Valila, who allegedly used the code name Pepsi, said he had been suspended without pay by the Mets, but denied all the charges. He faces up to 25 years in prison. "I've been around here for 20 years," said Valila, 39, of Floral Park, L.I., who counts David Cone and other Mets greats among his friends. "I've never heard of anybody taking bets. This will all be recanted." Priore, who was not charged, could not be reached for comment. He worked for the Yankees for many years before moving across town to Shea. Prosecutors and NYPD investigators said the ring operated two wirerooms in Queens and an Internet site in Costa Rica, handling bets on baseball, football, horse racing and other sports. Valila allegedly accepted bets on Mets games, but only on the team to win, a source said. The alleged ringleader was Christopher Bruno, 34, of Bethpage, L.I., who was caught on an FBI tape bragging that he was "the Osama Bin Laden of gambling." One investigator said the ring paid a monthly "five-figure" tribute to jailed former Bonanno acting boss Anthony Urso, delivering the cash to his girlfriend's apartment. When Bruno was picked up by cops, he had a 4-carat diamond ring wrapped in a one dollar bill in his pocket that he said was a present for his fiancée. She was among those arrested yesterday. Other accused bookies include Bruno's brother, Thomas, 32, a trader at Cantor Fitzgerald, the Wall Street firm decimated by the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks; Peter Neiberg, 42, owner of the Midwood Funeral Chapel; and William Hartnett, 41, owner of Tir Na Nog, a midtown restaurant. The Mets issued a statement backing the probe and ordered players not to talk about it. "We were told to zip it," one Met said, before the team beat the Cincinnati Reds, 10-6. "They gave us strict, strict orders," added another player. Brown praised the Mets for cooperating fully with the probe, which led to charges against 36 people. Fans at Shea yesterday said they were upset at the mere whiff of illegal betting at Shea. "It brings down the name of the Mets and its bad for baseball," said Matt Zaroovabli, 18, of Great Neck, L.I. Crystal Gilmore said the allegations were just as damaging, whether they involved a star player or just a groundskeeper. "For me, the Mets is the Mets," said Gilmore, 38, of Newark. "If you've got any part in the organization, you've got to be responsible." With Kate Meyer It's strike two in Amazin' shamin' The mob and the Mets, together again? The Mafia gambling bust is the second time in a year the Amazin's have been mentioned in the same breath as organized crime. Mets reliever John Franco's name came up last year in an FBI report that claimed he palled around with several high-ranking members of the Bonanno crime family and even invited some into the Mets clubhouse before games. Franco left free tickets for games for his Bonanno buddies, according to a source familiar with the documents. That mob family is the same one that has alleged ties to the gambling ring said to have operated in Shea Stadium. Franco left the Mets after last season and is pitching for the Houston Astros. He could be called as a witness in the murder trial of Bonanno captain Vito Rizzuto, dubbed the "John Gotti of Montreal." Franco refused to comment on the specific allegations and insisted he "has lived my life in a respectable fashion."

  11. http://www.theomahachannel.com/news/4502363/detail.html Overseas Investigators Find Evidence Against Bellevue Man 19-Year-Old Charged In International Porn Ring POSTED: 9:05 am CDT May 18, 2005 UPDATED: 9:17 am CDT May 18, 2005 BELLEVUE, Neb. -- A Bellevue man accused of possessing child pornography was caught by investigators across the Atlantic Ocean. Brian Decinque, 19, was in high school when investigators found child pornography at his home. Thousands of miles from Bellevue, investigators in Denmark and the Netherlands were finding ties between an Internet child porn ring and Decinque's computer. "The images originated from Europe, and when they dismantled that ring they provided us with approximately 2,000 subscribers," said federal agent Michael G. Wardy. Decinque was allegedly one member of the ring who was sharing the files he'd downloaded. Wardy's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office acted on the overseas tip. His agents and Nebraska state troopers searched Decinque's house. Wardy said child porn was found on two computers. "This was shocking," Wardy said."He was still attending high school when he was allegedly committing these crimes." Decinque was 18 and a senior at Bellevue East High School. "This is a little unusual to find someone this young," said Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov. Polikov said Decinque could be the youngest child porn suspect his office has ever dealt with. The office arraigned Decinque last week for possession of child pornography. He was charged as an adult. "If this were just youthful indiscretion, we wouldn't have moved forward on a charge," Polikov said. Both Polikov and Wardy said cases like Decinque's -- however rare -- indicate that the typical child porn suspect profile is changing. "We're seeing younger people get involved with it, We're seeing married people," Wardy said. Decinque was unreachable for comment. His attorney said the teen pleaded not guilty. He said Decinque posted a $5,000 and is required to live with his parents until a hearing on July 12.
  12. A few snippits from some girlfriends of mine with kids and some of the classics that have come out of their mouths.. -When my husband was remodeling our bathroom, he allowed our three year old daughter to "help". He gave her a teeny screwdriver and small block of wood and she would sit with him for hours while he worked. One evening the tile installer arrived to look at the work and my daughter comes running to the door and says, "My daddy and me are screwing in the bathroom." He looked shocked, I wanted to crawl under the rug~! -About a month ago the same daughter was arguing about having her hair blown dry. She has this frizzy, wavy hair and the only way to contain it is to spritz it with water and use a blow dryer to smooth it. Anyway, we were running late and I told her, "Lets just get out the blow dryer and do a real fast job on it today." Then I drove her to kindergarten. As we are getting out of the car, one of the other mothers says to my daughter, "Why Sophie, don't you look pretty today!" to which my daughter says, "Yeah, we did a quick blow job today." I started laughing. I couldn't help it. I explained to the other mother what she meant but I could tell she didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did. -Me and my close friend at the mall with her 2 year old in the bathroom. There are about 10 stalls in the bathroom-most are occupied. We go to the bathroom-me, one stall, her and her 2 year old in the another. I'm doing my business, and she is putting her 2 year old on the potty (btw, she is in the middle of being potty-trained). The two year old gets done and my friend praises her "You're such a good girl!!!" So, my friend gets on the potty and does her stuff. Next thing I hear is her little girl saying "Mommy, you're such a good girl!! You went on the potty!!" And of course, it was loud and her voice carried b/c of how bathrooms are constructed. You could hear the women in the other stalls laughing and snickering, including myself. She came out of the stall, beet red!! I was laughing so hard!!! -...sitting in the car with my S.O. and his kids. His 9-year-old daughter is expressing her hope that we can buy a swimming pool... not a BUILT-IN pool, because she knows our finances are not the best... "Well, could we maybe buy one of those dildo pools, then?" We assured her that we'd try to buy a DOUGHBOY pool... -My son is taking karate. He told me after he learns this karate, he wants to learn the "other one" I said "what other one?" He said.. you know "Tofu?" -I was sitting in chuch during a Lenten worship service with my 3-year-old DD. She had gone to Sunday School for about a year but still didn't quite have the story straight. My pastor was praying and she said something like "God, we thank you for the gift of your son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. Into the utter quiet of our sanctuary, my 3-year-olds voice boomed out as she pulled on my sleeve and said " Oh my God, Jesus is dead???" The congregation tried to hide their laughter because the poor pastor was trying to pray for all of us. But the choir up front just lost it one by one. The pastor glanced out of the corner of her eye at the choir and then she lost it. Finally, she burst out laughing herself, told my DD very gently that Jesus was in Heaven, composed herself and started the prayer again! - I was doing a sexual abuse prevention program in a second grade class which was being filmed by a crew from CNN to air as a special feature. They had the teacher, guidence counselor, the CNN Producer, Art Harris-the corrispondant, the camera guy and the sound guy all cramed into this classroom! I talked about safe and unsafe touches and when I got to the part about innappropriate sexual touch by an adult I called it "Secret touching." All of a sudden this little boy put his hand up---normally I would not call on the kid because it would be time for the "safety rules---NO-Go-Tell!" Well, because the camera was rolling I felt I had to call on the kid--- When I did---the kid giggles, blushed, and said..."Sometimes---You can secret touch yourself!" Everyone that was there still talks about that!!! -the other night, I was tucking my 4 year old son into bed, and while I usually say something like "goodnite, don't let the bed bugs bite", this time I just told him "sweet dreams" and left... I hear him holler down the hall, "Mom! Watch out for the bugs!" - My 3 yr old son was playing with a big fat frog. My aunt warned him the frog might pee on him and he turned the frog belly up pointing his finger between it's hind legs and said "NO NO aunt Faye, he don't have no thingy. - When my nephew was 4 years old he pulled his pants down in front of his nana and said, "Look how big my Pe Pe is getting"
