QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 12:06 PM) What are they arguing on appeal? It's been at least 9 years....surely he's paid something. I remember hearing that he was broke after the trial, so if he hasn't paid the 33 million, or whatever they're eventually owed, any proceeds he gets from this would need to be spent on his debt to them. They could get a court order to freeze those proceeds before he can spend them too. No appeal. His pension is off limits. Anything he's made over the past decade hs been paid to third parties and his "expenses" have been paid for him. The proceeds from this will likely be paid to a third party as well.

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) I hope that because of the civil damages he has to pay that all of the proceeds of the book and of his television appearance go to the family of the people he killed. Not a snowballs chance in hell.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) I do believe they can re-try him on the federal level. There is no SOL on Murder. Did some research so I need to edit... The only way he can be retried, at either the state or federal level - and it wouldn't be retried because he can't be put on trial for the SAME crimes as noted earlier - would be if he slipped up and revealed details of the crime only the killer.. or the person they hired... were brought to light. The only shot at him spending any time in jail for the murders is as an accessory. His say will come. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) The SOL doesn't apply, because he received a fair trial. The SOL has nothing to do with him or his trial or how full of s*** it was.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Perjury is the big thing they could get him with. I do believe they can re-try him on the federal level. There is no SOL on Murder.
  6. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) http://www.kgw.com/news-local/stories/kgw_..._.1ea1e06a.html For you ladies, what might be the appeal of having sex with a student? Perhaps the same rush somebody gets from breaking the law? I just don't get it really, it's not like most of these women would have trouble finding a man to sleep with, and even if they were into kids, how come they never called my name to stay after class to help clean up? First, you must be a total f***ing moron... after that the reasons are endless.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) They have been working on this for some time so I'm hopefully it finally goes through and my drive to Tuscon can pretty much stop. 3 looooong years. I only wish it would be in time for '07.
  8. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Why do you bother me? Don't say stupid s*** that makes you sound like a prick - your word, admit you said stupid s*** that makes you sound like a prick, then act surprised when someone agrees with you.

  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) In my case we are allowed to go negative up to a point. And obviously if we don't catch it back you end up kind of buying those days. Since I accrue almost a day off every two weeks (something like 7.2 hr's) early on if I wanted to go on vacation for like a week or do something I would be able to go negative and earn them back. But so far I'm up just over 4 days earned since the start of September...WOOT. Considering I don't have anything scheduled till spring training I should have a nice collection for taking off time to head on some summer vacations when I shouldn't be as busy. At the old job I never got docked. I know it was mainly because of tenure. I was out more than 15 days the month Joey was born and in the hospital and until his passing and never was charged with a sick or vacation day.
  12. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) I think non-smokers should get discounts on Health Benefits...likewise for Gym frequenters. I know that's not the end-all of health, but my unscientific guess would be that smokers and sedentary individuals have a higher rate of visiting their health care provider than the previously mentioned. thoughts? (I know that's a major hijack, but steff brings up a good point) That's an issue with the health care providers and not the employer. If the provider gave such discounts, I imagine employers would pass it on. Health care costs are sickening. Also, some gym goers are also smokers. And many folks who don't frequent gyms use home gyms. Plus, smokers could lie to get the discount.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) I'm considering attempting to buy one and then selling it, seems like they are going for a ton. Pfftt... your folks spent all that money on college for nothing! QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 09:06 PM) I am doing the same. I'm gonna make some calls tomorrow Brian and than I'll shoot ya back what I find out (in terms of camping out and what stores have the most coming). Its gonna be hella hard though. I wish I didn't have work cause than I would camp out earlier and make 100% sure that I'd get one. Hmm.... perhaps I should get in on this plan.
  14. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) Mary wasn't immaculately conceived according to traditional Christian beliefs, Jesus was. Although Mary DID immaculately conceive. How do you think you did on the its/it's one?

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) I think the Earth blows up. No worries. LB is on Wednesday's and is rerun 88,341 times on the weekends for those that miss the first run.
  16. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 09:09 AM) As far as what I do right now, I don't work. I go to school. I'm still in the years of trying to find the easiest way to get rich. Good luck with that. I'd stick close to daddy for the best odds. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) why then, is it wrong for people who make a conscious effort to keep themselves healthy to take non-sick days off. Im not saying abuse the system, but if their colleagues are making unhealty life choices and are getting paid time off, why can't those who make healthy life choices take the same paid time off? the same goes for those individuals who require "smoking" breaks versus those who don't smoke. Those who don't smoke should get the same breaks than those who do. Who says they can't? Healthy people who take care of themselves also get sick, no? Smoke breaks are a joke, but if you read your employee handbook it likely says in there somewhere that you are entitled to 2 15 minute breaks a day. Smokers should be timed, IMO, and when their 30 minutes are up.. docked. Those who don't smoke should take full advantage of those 15 minute breaks also. Most at my current company sit in the lunchroom and watch tv or walk outside in the park behind the office building.
  17. While the article is accompanied by a picture of Tylenol, Tylenol is NOT affected.
  18. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061109/ap_on_he_me/drug_warning 11M bottles of acetaminophen recalled ANDREW BRIDGES, Associated Press Writer 18 minutes ago WASHINGTON - A major manufacturer of acetaminophen sold by Wal-Mart, CVS, Safeway and more than 100 other retailers recalled 11 million bottles of the widely used pain-relieving pills Thursday after discovering some were contaminated with metal fragments. There were no immediate reports of injuries or illness. The recall affects bottles containing various amounts of 500-milligram caplets made by the Perrigo Co. The contaminated pills included metal fragments ranging in size from "microdots" to portions of wire one-third of an inch long, the Food and Drug Administration said. Perrigo discovered the metal bits during quality-control checks after realizing the equipment it uses to make pills was wearing down prematurely, the FDA said. A company investigation turned up metal in roughly 200 pills, after passing 70 million of the caplets through a metal detector, according to the FDA. Consumers who swallow any of the contaminated pills could suffer minor stomach discomfort or possible cuts to the mouth and throat, the FDA said, adding that the risk of serious injury was remote. Anyone who suspects they have been injured should contact a doctor, the agency said. The FDA posted on its Web site the recalled batch numbers and the dozens of chains supplied by Perrigo, which bills itself as the world's largest manufacturer of store-brand nonprescription drugs. The 129 retailers that could potentially be affected by the recall include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., CVS Corp., Safeway Stores and SuperValu Inc. They typically sell the Perrigo-made pills under private labels. Perrigo, based in Allegan, Mich., said the pills contained raw material purchased from a third-party supplier and affected 383 batches. A company spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment. Acetaminophen is best known as the drug in products sold under the Tylenol brand, but is widely available in generic versions. The drug, along with aspirin and ibuprofen, is one of the most widely used pain relievers available without a doctor's note. The retail market for the pain-relievers is worth more than $2 billion a year, according to Perrigo. The recall does not affect Tylenol. The recall should not cause a shortage of acetaminophen, the FDA said. The voluntary recall is considered a Class II recall since it covers products that might cause a temporary health problem or pose only a slight threat of a serious nature, according to the FDA. Consumers with questions can call Perrigo toll free at (877) 546-0454. Customers can check whether products they bought are being recalled by checking the store list on the FDA Web site, http://www.fda.gov/oc/po/firmrecalls/perri...gocustlist.html, and the batch list, http://www.fda.gov/oc/po/firmrecalls/perri...obatchlist.html. The batch numbers appear on the container's label.

What a loser. I recall he was caught cheating in Vegas and bought a condo of his own back in June so I think that's a given. I don't think he'll beg. I think he's going to play the hard ass and it's going to backfire on him even more then it already has. He's asking for custody of the kids.. umm.. moron.. you didn't take care of the first 2 what makes you think a judge is going to agree that you'll take care of these 2.

(PR) "Dimebag" Darrell (Darrell Lance Abbott) will be posthumously honored with the unveiling of his very own star on Hard Rock Cafe Dallas' Walk of Fame at 6:00pm on Thursday, November 9, 2006. Accepting the honor on behalf and in memory of Dimebag will be his brother, Vinnie Paul, and lifelong partner, Rita Haney. Immediately following the unveiling, Vinnie and Rita will present Hard Rock Acquisitions Manager Don Bernstine with the Dean guitar Dimebag used on Pantera's "101 Proof" Tour. The evening will continue with a performance from The Hillbilly Orchestra. Dimebag Darrell was the lead guitarist for the multi-platinum selling and GRAMMY nominated band, Pantera, co-founded by Dimebag and his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul. Over the span of ten years, Pantera's fame went global, and according to the All Music Guide, was considered "arguably the greatest metal band of '90s and ... one of the greatest and most influential metal bands ever." After the breakup of Pantera in 2003, Dimebag and Vinnie formed Damageplan. On December 8th, 2004, while performing with Damageplan in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage. He was 38 years old. "The star bearing Dime's' name that is being inducted into the Hard Rock Walk of Fame here in Dallas is very special for us," states Vinnie. "I feel like Dime always got the respect he deserved nationally and internationally but locally I feel like he sometimes got overlooked. Now his star will shine brighter than ever deep in the heart of Texas! It is a proud moment for us and we want to thank the Hard Rock for recognizing Dime's talents and accomplishments!
