I'm not sure of you are aware but there is an "educational" requirement to get into the military. And from what I have heard, it's not so easy anymore. IMO, it would be easier for an uneducated person to collect welfare - and they do - than it would be to join the military.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 08:55 AM) Oddly I don't. This issue actually has popped up in a lot of conversations with my friends lately. They take the stance that what he did wasn't that bad since the girl was, what, 13 and it wasn't "rape" since they only equate that with using force. I think it's totally sick what he did and mentally that girl couldn't consent. But, I still don't boycott him, maybe I should.... Your friends are morons. I wonder if they would change their stance if something was shoved up their ass regardless of repeatedly crying no. Or maybe it would take their sisters or daughters being "forced" - forced meaning that she had both vaginal and anal trauma - to get it through their thick skulls. And according to court transcripts and Polanksi's own ADMISSION, she was mentally stable enough to say "no", which she did, and he ignored.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 06:27 AM) OK the one thing that bugs me about this arguement is if John Kerry is traveling around the country speaking on behalf of the canditates why wouldn't we listen to him? Is he all of the sudden not a representative of his party? If that is the case, why doesn't he and anyone who isn't "running for office" just stay home, because their words don't matter anyway. I mean everyone was all but willing to jump all up into Rush's s*** when he said what he did about Michael J Fox, and I didn't hear anyone saying that it doesn't really matter, because even less then a Junior Senator and former Presidential canditate nominee, he is only a TV/radio personality, so what does it really matter? Now everyone wants to debate "the issues"? Please. Rush was attacking someone with a disease who is trying to find a cure that could help millions of people. Unprevoked might I ad. And he didn't attack his words, he attacked his presence and claimed MJF was being a fraud in displaying his disease. Trying to comparing that to Kerry directly, though badly, attacking Bush - indirectly - with a dumb ass joke is ill. Nicely...

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 11:01 AM) Amazing how riled up people get over something like this. Anyone care about the actual issues anymore? Haven't you heard... Master manipulator MJF is now the most important thing in politics.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 10:54 AM) PA: Send me a PM if you want to go on a cruise. Once you get an idea fleshed out, I'll cut you a sweetass deal. Just don't watch Poseidon until AFTER the trip.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 09:58 AM) The big day is June 24, 2007. Cancun will run 2000-2500 Any Sandals resort will cost 3000+ Disney is a possibility...but as you alluded to above...I don't know if we're going to really want to go somewhere we have to feel pressured in seeing the sights and sounds. I'm there to see miss PA's sights and sounds, and as Texsox subtley said....I'm going to thank God as often as I can that she's there with me...on her own accord Call around and compare. No price is final until you decide it is. We've stayed at Disney several times and not not gone to Disney World. There's a ton to do around the Orlando/Kississimee area besides that tourist trap. And, IMO, pass on the childish banter. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 09:53 AM) Um...i don't know what you did on your honeymoon, but Me and Mrs. Can spent A LOT of time in the room... Not my fault you're not so adventurous.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) If you go to Cancun, go to Playa Del Carmen instead. Less of the spring break, obnoxious, get hammered, typical American tourist types. Agree. I hated Cancun. Whatever you decide, do lots of research. There are a ton of deals out there and as for what you have to spend... I absolutely positively HATE spending stupid amounts on hotel rooms. You sleep and shower there. I don't understand a grand for a hotel stay. A grand for a resort with everything included (food and drink) is another thing though. $2500 I think is more than enough to find something great. And it's about the time together not how many stars the hotel has..

Hmm.. maybe one more time and I'll get it.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/20...e-message_x.htm The federal government's "no sex without marriage" message isn't just for kids anymore. Now the government is targeting unmarried adults up to age 29 as part of its abstinence-only programs , which include millions of dollars in federal money that will be available to the states under revised federal grant guidelines for 2007. The government says the change is a clarification. But critics say it's a clear signal of a more directed policy targeting the sexual behavior of adults. "They've stepped over the line of common sense," said James Wagoner, president of Advocates for Youth, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit that supports sex education. "To be preaching abstinence when 90% of people are having sex is in essence to lose touch with reality. It's an ideological campaign. It has nothing to do with public health." Abstinence education programs, which have focused on preteens and teens, teach that abstaining from sex is the only effective or acceptable method to prevent pregnancy or disease. They give no instruction on birth control or safe sex. The National Center for Health Statistics says well over 90% of adults ages 20-29 have had sexual intercourse. But Wade Horn, assistant secretary for children and families at the Department of Health and Human Services, said the revision is aimed at 19- to 29-year-olds because more unmarried women in that age group are having children. Government data released last month show that 998,262 births in 2004 were to unmarried women 19-29, the ages with the most births to unmarried women.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) Come on, seriously, how in the world can you actually be enough of a fan to go to a show by someone like Streisand and not expect to hear their political views? Does anyone actually go to a Toby Keith show and not expect a lil' bit o' politics? If I go to a Pearl Jam show, I'm expecting some amount of anti-Bush stuff. I agree, but she does seem to go over the top. I doubt folks expected the show a week or so ago where she told the crowd member to "shut the eff up". (sic) But hey.. it's good to know that as long as the ass next to me paid his money he can ruin my night, and possibly my personal belongings.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) No it doesn't. Do you happen to like the Dericj and the Dominoes song, "Layla"? Well, it so happens that the co-author of that song, drummer Jim Gordon went nuts and butchered his mother and is still rotting in jail for it. But, oes it say anything about anyone who enjoys the song, or even (gasp!!) purchases the album? No, not really. I honestly don't know what to think about Townshend. Like almost everybody I had him tried and convicted immediately on hearing the charges. Now I'm uncertain. Neither you nor I know the truth. Is there any possible chance that someone can have an opinion here and not be called to the front line locked and loaded to defend it. Their OPINION...??? To me, it does. Someone who ADMITTED to viewing CHILD PORN, PAYING for it, LYING about it, the AGREEING to register as a sex offender rather than defening himself IF he was innocent... :rolleyes. I may not know the "truth", but I know the "facts" he admitted to.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) And there new album was released today with more than a few reviewers wondering how that may or may not affect record sales. Hopefully it will effect sales dramatically to the red line. Says a lot about a person who supports someone who views child pornography.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) that's kind of funny, yet I'm sure you, like most of us, enjoy the fact that your woman takes birth control pills that have documented side effects... Ahh.. what's a little cancer of the breast and ovaries.

Kobayashi eats 97 burgers in 8 minutes CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee Japanese eating champion Takeru Kobayashi won his third straight Krystal hamburger-eating contest, setting a new world record in the process. Kobayashi ate 97 of the small, square hamburgers in eight minutes on Saturday. That beat the previous record of 69 burgers, which he set at the first Krystal contest in 2004. Joey Chestnut of San Jose, California, came in second place Saturday by eating 91 hamburgers, and Pat Bertoletti of Chicago ate 76. Kobayashi, who is from Nagano, also holds the title of hot dog-eating champion, after eating 49 hot dogs in 12 minutes at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest at Coney Island, New York. Despite his capacity to eat, he weighs 172 pounds. Krystal, the oldest fast-food chain in the South, holds two-minute qualifying rounds in eight Southern cities in the months leading up to the championship. The Krystal finals are governed by the International Federation of Competitive Eating. Founded by brothers Richard and George Shea in 1997, it regulates events for safety and keeps records on everything from meatballs to green chiles. :puke

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) Interesting and unsettling, yes. Reading the conviction with which he writes about this stuff, I tend toward giving him the benefit of the doubt about his porn bust situation. The guy paid for child porn on his computer with HIS personal credit card, and he AGREED to register as a sex offender to dodge further prosecutution and possible jail time. No doubt. Nice current news though. Snoooze.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) Have you seen what it costs to go to one of her shows? you'd have to be a complete idiot to spend that kind of money to get thrown out and arrested. It's a prerequisite.
