Ya know what.. call me crazy but if he gets ANYTHING it will be better than those before him and maybe, just maybe, deter future morons from doing it. He won't get 5 years. He'll get 364 days.

IMO, 5 years is good enough. The guy was admittedly high and drunk. If, and so far he has, he gets help and turns things around then good for him. People who commit worse crimes get far less. EXACTLY he was high and drunk and supervising kids. Why does being high and drunk in anyway LESSEN what he did????? To me that is like the difference between a robbery and a robbery at gunpoint. If you are drunk and high that makes more crimes that he committed. To me that is exaserbating (sp) the exsisting crime, not excusing it. 5 years is a crime all by itself. And personally I don't give a s*** about higher taxes. If it means things like better schools and prisions I am all for it. IMO that is one of the problems in society today is that the government pays so damned much money regulating peoples lives and thoughts that we don't have enough money for things that the government was intented to provide such a security and safety. This guy brutally attacked someone and is getting off lightly, and I don't feel safe with this guy walking around on the street. Southsider.. he was not the only adult there. There were 3 of them. He left the group in the first inning and they didn't see him again until the 5th. And I didn't excuse anything. Had he stuck with the not guilty plea he likely would have just ended up with probation. The guys is trying. Sheesh. And maybe you don't care about paying the taxes, but I - along with probably 99.9% of the US population -do.

Well, I'm going to find out for sure this weekend. The Lakelands is having a resident picnic Saturday and Jim and I are going as his daughter & son-in-laws guests. The Williams family has RSVP'd that they will be attending.

Cool. You support holding a grudge against some anonymous person on an internet message board that you've never met - and likely wont.. so be it. Me.. I think it's stupid. Kinda like with Roman.. I have no clue who he is. We disagree, and he irritates me with his words sometimes. Do I stress over it? Nope. Every new day is a new start on these boards with the people I don't know. No room in my life to be mad, irritated, or upset for more than a few minutes with anonymous people on an internet message board. Now.. if someone whom I have formed a friendship with - and actually knew in real life via the phone or in person - that would be a different story. I just don't see how you can dislike (deservingly or not) someone you don't even know. Makes no sense to me.

I made 2 posts over there after RPS asked me to. And I got banned pretty much after those two, haha. There's no grudge. If there was a grudge, I'd constantly bring up how much Daver sucks as a moderator. Notice how until this thread was started, almost nobody has mentioned jack and s*** about WSI or their mod staff. Exactly. Which is why this stupid s*** doesn't belong here. Hopefully BigHurt (whatever his name is) has learned from his mistake and this thread will die. Cant say that i agree. Any thread that a member wants to post, is welcome to me.... And I agree with that as well.. I guess, to me, it just makes no sense to stir the pot. You have a disagreement, you don't post there, so what. What's the point of coming here and talking s***?

NW = North Western? Someone correct me if I am wrong but in order to get into college you HAVE to take it, right? That's the way I remember it in 1990. Never went to college, woudn't know anything about NW admission process. I am gonna ask her... I got accepted to Northwestern University and I don't ever remember applying there (nor did I ever write a check for the admission's fee). And I never took the SATs... Seemed like everyone who did well on the ACTs didn't do as well on the SATs and vice versa. That and I didn't apply to any schools outside of the Midwest. Hey doub.. thanks for quoting this. Now Brando.. as you can see I clearly was NOT sure and was asking.

As for NW - Just passing along what I was told. Tony said his son had to take the SAT. I called you out on "37" thing because I was under the impression you didn't know what ACT was since I know you graduated in late 80's and SAT might have been the only scholastic measurement at that time.....You jumping on my typo is unwarranted since in the previous paragraph it clearly states what I meant... In your posts you definately tried to ridicule me as though my information was way out-there and faulty....instead of--GASP--trying to verify your own "I don;t see how private schools don't require SAT" arguement. Just because your friend's son took one doesn't mean ACT is not a legitimate substitute, ya know? 35 on ACT and great peripherals is considered to be top notch regardless of SAT.......Ivy Leagues may be different but even they make a ton of exceptions when a student fits their profile. And NW as good as it's academically is Top 10, not Ivy League, lol.... So WTF, are you doing your best Oldroman impresonation or what? He too never admits he could ever be wrong. The 37 was a typo. And I did not graduate in the 80's. 10 years ago... And I said several times in my posts that I was referring to TEN YEARS AGO. What part did you not comprehend? I posted what I was told about NW - said that, too. But somehow you missed it. Not ONCE did I say I knew the requirements TODAY. I even asked. I can most definitely admit when I am wrong. Believe it or not, he IS a nice guy. He's been to my house. I've never had an issue with anyone over there. Daver has even helped me out on some non baseball related things. I think it might be the age gap that caused a rift in this case.. but what the hell do I know
