    i am drunk

My typing is fine when I'm drunk, so it usually doesn't even show up. You can usually tell if I'm drunk if its at 2 AM or beyond though..
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) I had a feeling you were a smart guy. I'm so smart that I tend to avoid politics all together, although I am starting to get a bit interested in them since I'm just about to finish Fear and Loathing On the Campaign Trail '72, which has been a really good read.
  3. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 01:05 PM) Wisconsin is the 5th ranked team in the nation, Illinois is unranked. Sure, but there's no chance in hell they're the 5th best team in the nation. They've struggled in almost all of their games this year against crappy opponents, I can't wait for the Badgers to get exposed, hopefully by the Illini this weekend.
  4. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 08:17 AM) WTF?! I somehow ended up with, in order: Biden, Dodd, Brownback, Obama Weird. I think THIS SURVEY is a little more detailed, and I find, a bit more accurate (asks more questions, phrases them in such a way that its more general and covers more smaller issues). Its one we've used here before. Two things, though... One, be careful of the priority sliders - they only go to HIGH or LOW, so if its medium, don't touch it. Two, once you submit your choices, you have to hit SKIP past a couple ads to see your results. My results from that one: Barack Obama 63% Ron Paul 63% Al Gore* 62% Kucinich at 96%, then Obama (86%). Clinton is 7th at 75%.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 10:41 AM) Even if all that is true....that doesn't mean the Mets will trade him for less than a King's ransom. I'm not disagreeing at all, I don't think there's a chance in hell the Mets would trade him.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) And that says what? 3 of the best SS in baseball are in that division. Thats true, but when the majority of the people here seem to think he's the Michael Jordan/Rickey Henderson (based off of more than just this one thread, past threads have wreeked of peoples ridiculous mancrushes on Reyes), it gets ridiculous. When Jordan played, there was no doubt he was the best in his sport, let alone his position. Reyes isn't anywhere near that, as he's not even the best at his position. When you expand that to include everyone in the league, he's top 10, at most.
  7. Lopez is a bad baseball player. Please no. He had one good year in 2005, but outside of that, he's hardly an upgrade on Uribe.
  8. Reyes is so overrated here. He's good, but he's not even the best SS in his own division, let alone in the league.
  9. QUOTE(SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:38 PM) What it shows is you wanted the Rockies to win so you're defending a blown call. It's obvious. If you asked me who I wanted to win this game prior to all this crap, I'd have said the Padres. Group 4 baby! Really though, I was just looking to watch some good baseball, and thats what I got. So bad call or not, I got what I was looking for.
  10. QUOTE(SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) Answer this: Why did he wait till Barrett tagged him to call him safe? You can't. He waited on calling everything all night (from what I saw), it got frustrating, but it was par for the course. He probably waited to make sure that the ball got loose, and all of those sorts of things. I'm not an umpire, and I wasn't there in person. I'm just saying that the call is what I would have made if I were there and in the same place. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) it's like the AJ dropped 3rd strike, even in slow motion replay, you can't really tell what happens. hell of a game anyway. I'll disagree there. I'm pretty sure that he never touched home plate.
  11. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:32 PM) Oh, and did I just hear right that Frank Thomas is doing some booth work? Yes. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:32 PM) No disrespect to felix and krush, but if that crap had happened to the Sox, I doubt you would be as understanding. It was a blown call. Thats why looking at something objectively is much more beneficial. I'd be pissed to hell if that happened to the Sox, because I'd be tied up in my emotions. In this situation, since I don't care about either team and am just watching baseball, I think I can look at it in a more objective, fairer way.
  12. Looking at the replay (again), Barrett's foot slides all along the side of home plate after the slide, and ends up behind the plate at the end of the play. Just based off of that, if I were in the situation of the ump, I'd assume that Holliday's hand/arm pushed Barrett's foot back that far, meaning it crossed the plate. Again, I'd make the same call as the ump in this situation.
  13. QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:27 PM) Well...he missed a lot of strikes too...so not a shocker really. I can't disagree. I didn't like the umpiring crew in general, but I can't fault him for that final call.
  14. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:24 PM) Was an awesome game but you could tell the ump knew Barret manged to block him. However, he got scared when he saw Holiday was in no hurry to get back to the plate, so he called him safe. Not sure that was the call he had to make. He was on the other side of the action, and Barrett's foot was blocking what he could see of that part of the plate, so he couldn't really see where Barrett's foot was (whether it was blocking the plate, in the middle of the plate, etc.). Given the quickness of the play, and just the situation in general, I'd probably have made the same call. But being here at home, it's easy to make the call that the ump was wrong.
  15. Crappy call at the end. I feel sorry for Padre fans, but that was a call the ump had to make considering where he was and what it looked like. Great game though, I enjoyed it QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:18 PM) That was clear to me live, that he didn't touch home, piece of crap umpire probably just wanted to go home. And you know he knew it, with that hesitation. Too bad they had to ruin a good game like that Why stop there? Why not make some more baseless accusations about the umpire having money on the game, or really being a Rockies fan deep down and bleeding purple? Or maybe his cousins nephews brothers sisters ex-boyfriend is Matt Holliday and he really liked him when he met him 5 years ago?
  16. Kucinich, with Hilary and Obama tied at 6th.

    i am drunk

Drunk yet? If not, I'm disappointed.
  18. Is it worth pointing out how ridiculously wrong they were about the Twins? I mean, I don't mind BP really (I find some of their stuff interesting even if I couldn't get through 'Baseball Between the Numbers'), but this seems like a jackass thing to do, especially when on the same link that they predicted the Sox being 72-90, they predicted the Twins being 90-72 despite their horrid (in my opinion) offseason.

I was looking for this thread the other morning/night. I couldn't find it though
  20. Well, that season sucked. Here's to next year!
  21. QUOTE(Markbilliards @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) For those of you who have done weed, did you find it addicting? I don't find it addicting, no.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) I always thought that elements of the Barking Pumpkin record label would be awesome tattoos, but my wife threatened me with bodily injury if i ever got them. Yes and yes. But I'm not a tattoo person. If I were, it'd be something along these lines (a Zappa reference )
