He's the type of player that the Bengals want.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) Of course there were plenty of annoying yankee fans at the game. But I saw a guy wearing full Twins gear...hat and jersey. Why do these morons grace our park? What is the point of this thread? I don't know. I was just annoyed by that. Not to mention the moron I saw in full Cubs gear. But that is always going to happen. This happens at every park for every team in every city. I don't see what's so wrong about it. Some people just love to watch baseball at the park, even if their favorite team isn't playing. Should that stop them from wearing their favorite teams gear? I don't think so.

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:42 AM) I was readin the game thread and didn't see any mention of this...no one else saw Joe Torre fall flat on his face when he was going up the stairs to argue that DP call did they? So thats what the YES network was talking about. They made some mention to him slipping, but I didn't think he actually slipped. It was all very confusing

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) I'm not ting you! Excellent Calvin and Hobbes reference

QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) because I had the YES feed. This has nothing to do with the thread, but I had the YES feed too for most of the time I was watching, until I realized the game was on WGN. Then I felt like an idiot

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) If I were a Yankee fan, I'd have wondered about almost as many moves by Torre tonight as I did about moves by the White Sox. Taking Myers out after not retiring a batter for example, when you've got the 3 weak guys against lefties coming up in the 8th, seemed to me like a mistake, but it worked out for them. Playing the outfield back late in the game like that with a RISP. There was something else but it's slipping my mind now. That's what I was thinking at the time, especially with Pods/Gooch/Thome coming up the next inning, all of whom have forgotten their bats against lefties this year.

QUOTE(premo @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) I have a feeling that this week is going to be the deciding factor for this season. We need to take 2 out of 3 from both the Yankees and the Tigers. And unfortunately, I don't see that happening. Nice avatar

QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) He did manage it right. But it helps when the guys perform. But when the guys don't perform, the blame is put on Ozzie, so when they do perform, he might as well get props.
-
No love goes out to Ozzie, even though he did a fine job managing the bullpen late in that game (I believe at least).

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:00 AM) Bobby Jenks was BIGTIME tonight. Yep, I love it when he proves me wrong

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:55 PM) the New York media will blame A-rod for the loss they say he should have caught that foul ball before the game winning hit I thought the same thing actually. Which is sort of sad.
-
I am amazed You can never let up on this team until the game/race is over.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) I'm never bashing this team again. sigged
-
Please end it now. I had some revenge at my Yankee fan friends who were talking s*** in the beginning of the 9th, but I need some more.

Exhibit A: Reasons Bobby shouldn't pay attention to the runner on first

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) Sucks to be out east. I'm tired too, but I won't sleep before the end of it QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) I like how this is one of the worst possible times for an extra inning game. Yea, seriously. Killing our bullpen in the middle of 24 consecutive games.
-
This has the making of an incredibly long and depressing game. I hope it ends this inning.
-
BA is tryin too hard here. He needs to just relax and go for contact, not power.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) I'm just stunned at how we're out by so much, and other teams make it look so easy. It's sad, but thats what has happened now that we've gone back to the slugger first, speed second strategy. Unfortunetly, Ozzie manages like he did last year a bit too much, which doesn't help.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) The base distance for us is 100 ft., and it's 80 ft. for them. Thats actually looks pretty accurate. Everyone seems so slow on the paths.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) Ha....I'm so thankful we hold on runners. This type of baseball is inexcusable. Doesn't matter if Bobby gets Bernie out.
-
Wow, ugly throw.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) Who would our next catcher be? Paulie? That handsome devil. He's doing everything else right right now, why not?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Jenks has the heart of the Yanks order up in the 10th. As Felix says, he really struggles in these situations. I'm honored to be mentioned
