  1. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) I'm not sure how so many still favor a leadoff guy who a)cant bunt for s***, b)doesnt know how to keep the ball on the ground when hitting, c)cant play defense for s***, and d)has a noodle arm. Oh thats right, he sure can steal bases!! Awesome. I don't really know who you suggest to replace him. Ozuna? Ha! Fields? Haha! Pods isn't doing terrible considering his horrid start, and didn't he have a really big hit yesterday or the day before? (I haven't been able to see any Sox games since last Monday or so)
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) If they're considering it, he'll get his time in Winter Ball, etc. It's not like we need him to replace a Gold Glover in the outfield. Thats true, but I don't think we'd get more defense than Pablo out there if we rushed Fields like that.
  3. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) Put Cintron/Ozuna at short and have them leadoff. Career .318 OBP.. yes! Lets lead him off today!
  4. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:13 PM) Well, not like Pods and his awesome 250ish average is doing wonders for us in the leadoff slot right now. No, but his .357 OBP is doing a lot.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) Instead of Pods or Ozuna, can I take option C next year, which is Josh Fields in LF? Is Fields even playing LF yet? If not, I would think that he should have more time practicing out there than the start of next year.
  6. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:04 PM) And Pods is a starter? You take him out of the lineup and you'll definitely miss his defense and approach at the plate (which leads to a high OBP). QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:04 PM) Joe Morgan is circling Thome's cock. Circle jerk me Joe?
  7. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) Why is Pods still the starter? Ozuna is 10X the player Pods is. Ozuna is a bench player, and is HORRIBLE in the outfield. He makes Pods look good.
  8. I go to orientation for a few days, come home, and see the same Rowand rumors. Its not happening people.
  9. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:05 AM) He's had stellar years. Look at what's around him these days, compared to when the Twins were winning the central. He'd be a much more productive hitter in a line up with Thome, Konerko and Dye. Not to mention the versatility he could add on the basepaths. He may not be able to carry an offense, but he can be a pretty damn good player in the right environment. If the Sox can nab him for anything less than Brian Anderson, I don't see why they wouldn't want Torrii Hunter. He had a steller year. Not multiple ones, only one. In 2002, when he was 26, he posted a .859 OPS (126 OPS+) with 29 HR and a .524 slugging percentage. Past that, he's been nothing special at the bat, and definitely isn't worth the $10.75 million he's being paid this year or $12 million option for next year.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) I'm really starting to dislike Cintron's at bats. He's not a starter. I've said it all along, Uribe should start, not Cintron. Whether its with defense or the bat, Uribe is better.
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) And I'll be the one who buys them off of you. They are all on the road (3 in Pittsburgh, 2 in Baltimore, 1 in Minnesota [so far, I could be buying 2 more in Minny])
  12. Torii Hunter is not that good on offense, and his defense isn't significantly better than Anderson's in the field. This would be pretty damn pointless, and expensive.
  13. If the Sox trade for Griffey (especially if they give up BMac), I might have to sell off the tickets I have to see them this year. Horrible, horrible idea.
  14. Well, I just got back from my high school graduation. You might ask what relevance that has to the draft, and I'll tell you Right before we were going to walk in, someone in my class, Ryan Kalish, was drafted by the Red Sox with the 283rd pick (9th round) in the draft. I guess he had been told before that they were going to pick him, and naturally pulled a Red Sox hat out of his pocket. All of the seniors went crazy of course, and lets just say this graduation was rather memorable
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) Would the Sox really take three pitchers, when they're MIF/C prospects are so weak? Three guys to look at still on the board: Walden, Betances, and Jason's guy, Hughes. Apparently, yes.
  16. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Heads already has McCullouch's phone number. Jesus. (13:58:17) aernst022: if all else fails (13:58:21) aernst022: we facebook/myspace (13:58:21) aernst022: haha facebook ftw!
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:33 PM) He's a clone of Broadway. A polished collegiate pitcher who throws in the low 90's. BA has compared him a bit to Brad Radke. Has an oustanding changeup and also throws a good curveball and slider. Seems to have pretty good secondary stuff and has only played against top competition. Sounds good to me. I'd prefer a guy like this than a power pitcher anyday
  18. What do you know about him? (anyone)
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) The draft tracker thing is what is flying, the radio was behind the video when I turned it on. Good to know, thanks
  20. Is the radio that much quicker than video or something? Arizona just picked for the video
