QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) Ok...taking bets now...how many runs does Texas get this inning from Big Inning Javy? 6.
-
Super.. still no outs.
-
That was horrible Vazquez. Just horrible.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) Bases loaded, no outs. Cintron sure doesn't have any range. ...which is why Uribe should be starting.
-
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) how long is thome out? day to day, probably will be back on Monday to be safe.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Why would a Tiger fan monitor a Sox board. Go home. Root for your overrated team. He's posted nothing offensive in his time here, and the admins have said in the past to leave them alone as long as they aren't trolling, which this guy isn't.

Rumor heard during Phillies-Dodgers game...

QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 07:04 PM) Use some f***in common sense... .310 hitter .905 OPS >>>>> 18 game winner especially when you consider Rowand's spectacular defense. A .905 OPS would put him in the top 5 in all CF in every year since 2000 (didn't look at the years before that, not really worth it), and when you throw in the defense, it puts him as a top 5 CF all around. -

QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) At Garland's worst, he's going to win you about 10-12 games, give you a league average ERA and eat up 200+ innings. Couple that with his upside and he's a valuable commondity. He's worth much more than an average hitting/good defensive CF. So you are saying that Garland is an average pitcher. Thats exactly what I said. (oh, and for fun, Garland has only had 2 seasons with 200+ innings pitched) Also, Rowand is not an average hitter. After last year, there was a question of whether 2004 was his true colors, or if 2005 was more likely for him. Thus far this year, he's doing pretty damn well. Not quite 2004, but far from being 2005. He's killing the ball on the road (showing that his numbers aren't really skewed by hitting in Philly), and played good defense. Couple that with his upside (shown in 2004, which is a better upside than Garland's), and he's a valuable commodity. -

QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) So basically what you're saying is the Phillies are going to build their team around your poor man's Mark Kotsay. Not only that, they're not going to take an 18 game winner for him, straight up. And, you're the one shaking your head? Well first of all, Garland is an average pitcher. Nothing more. Don't pull out this "18 game winner" garbage, it doesn't mean anything in terms of how good a pitcher he is. Second of all, Rowand has a .303/.353/.513 line this year and had a .310/.361/.544 line in 2004. On top of that, he plays phenomenal defense, is a clubhouse leader, and a fan favorite wherever he goes. He leaves it all on the field, and teams love players like that. Now, I don't think they would accept that deal, but you vastly underrate Rowand and overrate Garland. -

QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) I can't believe people actually write crap like this. You can't really believe what you're saying. I don't follow you. -
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) Pods, LF Iguchi, 2B PK, DH Dye, RF AJ, C Crede, 3B Mack, CF Cintron, SS Gload, 1B With the exception of Gload in place of Konerko, this may be our best offensive lineup. Ozuna at SS is the only possible way to make it more offensively potent. If Javy K's a lot of Rangers, which is a possible, this is a good risk. Ever heard of a guy name Jim Thome? I think he makes the offense pretty potent.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) I give it two years before Abreu is on the Sox. I'd be surprised if that happened. I think he'll be a Yankee -

QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) If we are going to trade an all-star like garland, we better get somebody like Carl Crawford, not Rowand. I seriously have trouble taking any of your posts seriously as of late. -

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) Oh god, this is going to blow up fast on here. And people Garland CAN'T be traded this year. Thank you -
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) In dye5, I guess he's an angel? Yea, something like that I didn't like it, but I threw it up there anyway.

QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Jon pitched a hell of a game last night. He looked fantastic and was dominating. I definitely like him better than Garcia and Buerhle. If you don't mind me asking, are you currently on any drugs? (unless, by 'like' you mean a personal thing, but don't think Garland is a better pitcher)

Now we just need Borchard to complete the double trouble tandom!

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) and then give up a hit At least it was on the ground, and not a fly ball.
