  1. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) and if im not mistaken, Riske is making pretty minimal money also correct? This is a great deal $1.8 million
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) Yes I do. To me the press release read as Riske was traded for Lopez and the optioned player Tracey. Why is that so impossible to comprehend? Because thats not what it read. It read "the White Sox have acquired blah blah for blah blah and optioned blah blah to AAA"
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) It's not a matter of knowing baseball. It's a matter of knowing the English language. And it's quite obviously a verb to you, not to everyone. Do you know what optioning a player to AAA is? If you know baseball, you do. If you don't, then its confusing to you. It made perfect sense.
  4. 1-0 England on a beautiful cross by Beckham and header for Crouch in the 83rd minute. Gerrard knocks one in during the 90th minute to make it 2-0.
  5. According to rotoworld, he's been put on the 15 day DL with a strained right quadriceps.
  6. Wayne Rooney just came in for England in the 58th minute
  7. Neither KFFL nor Rotoworld has anything yet too
  8. Has anyone seen any confirmation of this? I can't find any online
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) I'm excited as hell about this trade. Either way, we weren't going to use Lopez. But, does anyone know what kind of injury he had this year? And does he have a history with injuries? His back.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:13 PM) This is an excellent deal. Boston's bullpen is without a lefty reliever that I would call remotely reliable, and the White Sox needed another righty reliever. Riske was good, not great but good, with Cleveland last year, and his absence due to the Marte/Crisp deal has really hurt the Tribe. He was very very good last year.. 3.10 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 72.7 innings pitched
  11. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) Just heard it myself. Haven't followed him this year, but in the past, Riske was pretty damn good...hmm, guess its the ole "Prospects are only prospects, give me MLB ready players." Lopez isn't a prospect
  12. Any team with Michael Owen on their roster is a team that deserves to win. Lets go England!
  13. I'm confused. Yesterday, the Sox were 100 less than the Cubs. Today, even though they both have the same amount of stories, its 99 less. Am I missing something here?
  14. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Allen Iverson. He's probably not the toughest athlete, but he should definitely be mentioned in a discussion about it. He's one of the smaller players in the NBA, yet consistantly goes into the paint and gets knocked around by people twice his size. He still performs day in and out, despite probably never playing a game during the year without some sort of injury.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) I hate Showalter more each and every time we play him. He's one guy I wouldn't mind seeing a laser foulball smash in the face. I agree completely, the Rangers are really rising on my dislike list. I never really liked them in the first place (what can I say, I don't like Texas), but each of these times just fans the fire.
  16. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Because Brandon McCarthy sucks. There, I said it. Can I quote you on this and bring it up at a later date? Hell, why am I asking? I will anyway
  17. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) Fields, Garland McCarthy for Willis. Incredibly stupid deal there.
  18. The Texas announcers seem to think Tracey will be sent back down after today because of the Tracey miss.
  19. Naturally, FSN West (or whatever its called) didn't show the game during the Tracey AB, instead showing some stupid birthday in the stands.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Did the ump at least issue a warning? Yes, meaning no retaliation for the Sox.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) Wow...shut the f*** up Hawk. He's such a sore loser. That wasn't intentional...it was an inside fastball that just stayed inside. He's not meaning to hit him leading off the inning. I smell bulls***, but thats just me.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) I love Joe Crede. The Rangers announcers referred to him as 'Jolting Joe Crede'
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) And that's exactly what the Sox picked him up to do. Tis the way of the power hitter. Oh yea, trust me, I have nothing wrong with it
  24. Jim Thome's approach to the plate: Pitch 1: Ball Pitch 2: Swing as hard as possible Pitch 3: Swing as hard as possible Pitch 4: Ball Pitch 5: Ball Pitch 6: Strikeout/Walk/Homerun
