    QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) Be awesome if it was an advertising campaign for snakes on a plane. I know that wouldn't make any sense but oh well. ahahaha.. that would be amazing. I saw the trailer for that when I went to see the Prarie Home Companion movie.. it was amazing (much better than the fake ones that had been made on the internet for awhile )

    If nothing happens now, I'm going to be disappointed. This better at least be an advertising campaign for something.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) So the end of the world comes in less than 55 minutes. And the Sox are the defending World Champs, couldn't be a better time for it

    QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) I'm confused. So, what is it exactly? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eon8 QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) It's probably just someone keeping a running countdown til the next time Gage crashes Soxtalk. They're giving him more than an hour?

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) This is pretty much what I assumed it was from the start, though it would be somewhat silly for a company to create any amount of panic or worry throughout the public and then just unveil some product. Reminds me of the old Simpsons episode with the fossil to advertise the opening of a new mall (IIRC, haven't seen that one in ages)

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) For whatever reason I can't get on the site from my laptop, funny whenever I had gone to it in the past I was on my desktop but now that I try it from my laptop with both Firefox and IE it refuses to load. I can't get on it either with my desktop or laptop.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) The most realistic trade they suggested was Fields for Figgins...not sure about that one. Considering Fields' upside, I wouldn't do that deal, especially with how Figgins is struggling at the plate right now.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) The posters at HalosHeaven say that Figgins for Crede would be a fair swap. Haha. Yea, I found that absolutely hilarious
  15. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) Former Sox prospect for former Sox prospect. Fixed
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 05:30 PM) Did you know there was another Brian Anderson in the MLB? He's the reason BA is referred to as Brian N. Anderson I remember him on the Royals, wasn't half bad IIRC. [edit] Looking at the numbers, it looks like he had a solid 2003, but sucked past that in KC.
  17. Garland has let up 2 runs to the Cubs in the first inning. Does anyone still want to argue that he'll come around some time?
  18. Leadoff single for Pierre.. I have a feeling this is going to be a long game.
  19. QUOTE(Drew @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) While the AL bats would certainly give him the run support he needs, Freddy has had some ugly games this first half. He likes to pitch in big games on the road, sure, but he's horribly inconsistent. If Ozzie gives the ball to any of his guys, I'd like to see it go to Mark Buehrle, I just think he is the better choice. Even if you look at last year when Garland was undefeated, Buehrle got the ball. It's not just about the number of wins, although it can be argued that it was Bartolo Colon's magic bullet for the AL Cy Young last year over Buehrle and Garland. You've been Kalapsed.
  20. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 07:33 AM) At the end of the piece, the Tribune seems to think KW is talking about a SP going to the bullpen for a turn due to off days. I think KW's talking about the playoffs, having a SP going to the pen is better than any other arm the sox could add via trade. Adding Vazquez or Garland to the bullpen mix would be a very solid upgrade. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines Not like it means anything, but in one of the Pittsburgh games, I saw Garland warming up in the pen (he could have just been tossing though, not really warming up).
  21. QUOTE(zygoat @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) Ozzie almost has to start Jose. Jose has won like 20 starts in a row and is the most consistent pitcher in the majors. Plus wiht the confidence that ozzie is showing by starting jose could get him pumped up enough to have the second half like he did last year stick with your man ozzie That is absolutely hilarious. No, Count does not deserve to start the ASG. Give it to Santana, who is hands down the better pitcher (and always has been).
  22. The stadium gun had Count in the 90's, touching 95 at times (I wasn't really watching the radar gun the whole game though). I don't think Count is nearly as good as people here paint him to be (as I said all offseason, although I expected him to be worse than he has thus far), and he's struggled since coming off the DL. I hope he improves however, he can't be posting a 5.37 ERA and relying on the offense to get his back. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 05:58 PM) He is a dominant pitcher. A high 2's/low 3s dominant AL pitcher. If you are looking at the whole season, and you expect those numbers, you'll be disappointed. Right now, he'll probably end the season with a 3.80 ERA, which is still good, but will disappoint people here.
  23. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) Not to start something again, but with the Crosstown series coming up, I thught it kinda funny that I saw this tonight. While watching sports highlights, they showed the Cubs game. Pierre comes barreling home, and the throw is dropped by the catcher. Pierre, not sure if he touched the plate, dives pack and slaps the plate. Then, seeing that the ump called him safe, he slapped the plate 4 more times. I wonder if Barrett would have thought it ok for the opposing catcher to sucker punch him while he lay on the ground slapping home plate? Hmmm. Not to correct you or anything, but Barrett didn't even see the plate slap (from his own statements), and reacted only to Pierzynski walking towards him to get his helmet. But yea...
