  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Is that why he went 6-5, with 4.07 ERA during the stretch run? In the AL, a 4.07 ERA isnt that bad. Only 22 pitchers in the AL have an ERA below 4.00 on the season..
  2. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) That lineup was a joke and that's putting it nicely. Yes, it was, but he still did well against it.
  3. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) No. Yes. And at the very least, he and KW did it together.
  4. The D-Ray's are my second favorite team now
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) I don't think he'll turn it around. You can't assume that. He's had the whole 2nd half to turn it around and he's gone backwards. He's showed he sucks in high pressure situations and he gives up a lot of hits to good hitting ball clubs. In the playoffs, he'll equal Odalis Perez of last year. Is that why he threw a CG 4 hitter against Minnesota in a high pressure situation?
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) "IF"!!! Could just mean that you werent sure whether we would play the Angels, Yankees, or Red Sox (or whoever else makes the playoffs)
  7. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Ozzie Guillen didn't add anybody to this team. That's KW who built this team. Ozzie had influence, but he made no moves whatsoever. Ozzie was the one who told KW to get these players..
  8. I agree with the stolen bases being tremendously important. Once this team starts running again, we might be running to the World Series..
  9. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) Sorry, I start Mark Buehrle... followed by Jose, and then Jon and Freddy on the road. I especially leave Freddy for the road, because he has dominated on the road all season.
  10. QUOTE(Wanne @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) And no...don't bust my balls on the sig...first put it up...they won 3 in a row....took it down they lost 2 in a row...so I put it back up (where it's stayin to clinching)! At the moment, I think Cleveland is choking more than Chicago. Cleveland went into the final three series playing Kansas City, Tampa Bay, and us, and before even getting to us, they have lost 3 games. We went in playing Minnesota, Detroit, and Cleveland, and have lost 3 as well, but have won 4 (since the Minnesota series was 4 games rather than 3). Cleveland had the world in their hands, and they have seemingly lost it.
  11. QUOTE(RX Bandits @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Most Improved Player: Jon Garland- no contest. Could maybe make a case for Contreras (14 wins is not too bad for a 5th starter) Contreras has 15 wins, and isnt a 5th starter. He's our 4th last time I checked.
  12. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) but if the indians have the WC lead than they would win the wild card because the Sox have won the division series. er.. the indians and sox would be tied for the WC, and a playoff game would be played to decide who gets the division title and who gets the wild card (might be wrong)
  13. I dont know the tiebreaker rules and such, but isnt there a head to head to settle it? Or is that only for the WC?
  14. Come on guys, end it before October
  15. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) Disapointment- Ozzie Guillen I understand all the dislike for Ozzie recently, but he built this team into a playoff team. Not sure how thats really disappointing..
  16. MVP: Paul Konerko. Enough said. AJ Pierzynski is a close runner up for me simply because how he has handled the pitching staff throughout the year. CY Young: I dont really care what you say, but Mark Buehrle. Whether he's been down or up, he's carried the staff (I know I'm going to hear s*** about this one) Most Improved: Jon Garland. Isnt really a question, considering he might have turned his career around. Most Pleasant Surprise: Cliff Politte. Simply dominant out of the pen. Biggest Disappointment: Shingo Takatsu. I was expecting him to have a great year this year, and he ended up being released.

    #3 hitter

QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) Podsednik LF Harris 2B Gload 1B Everett DH Borchard RF Pierzynski C Perez CF Uribe SS Blum 3B That is one of the worst lineups I have ever seen in my life.
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) obviously. If only he had, oh, say 15 hours to make that decision this post would have helped him. or if he had a stat book with him that had every stat known to man in it so he knew exactly what AJ's numbers were against lefties and what Walkers numbers are.
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Please tell the class what you would've done differently, and how it would've worked out better Carnac. He's just always negative about everything to do with the Sox when they lose, and when they win, he's always positive.
  20. It just wouldnt be a Soxtalk thread without the usual anti-Ozzie talk :/
  21. I'm 1-0 at the Cell. I went on Carlton Fisk day for win #72 against the Mariners. Great game, and I had great seats (8 rows up from the Mariners dugout). I'm 1-0 in road games too. I went to Baltimore to see the Sox play the Orioles on the last day of July. Another great game, Sox scored 9 (or 8) in the first two innings. QUOTE(1549 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) Living NJ its hard yes, yes it is yay for MLB.tv though, it's saved my life
  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) This is exactly how timo gets by. People just remember when he is ''clutch'' and happen to forget when he not so... ''clutch''. Nah, I remember when he's not so clutch, I'm just pointing it out since people seem to look over that fact.
  23. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) Not really, some people didnt get the reference. (see below) QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) f***, can't wait to see the replay. Was Santo in the booth by any chance? "OHHH, NOOOO, HE DROPPED THE BALL NOOOOOOO"
