Another wild pitch for Garcia
-
Lets go Jermaine, make him pay for the walks.
-
And a second straight K for Garcia, he's looking good so far. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Oh, I know. I was at one of the Seattle games in the beginning of August, and that game just ensured my thoughts that he should be a gold glover this year. It was this one: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=250807104

It doesnt help that Pudge has a rocket for an arm..
-
Its mullet night..
-
And Willie stays hot.. Is there any player on the Sox that isnt hot right now?
-
Juan is STILL hot. Lets keep this going!
-
I'll take them anyway we can get them. AJ stays on his tear against Detroit!
-
Pudge got a foul off his pinky. He stayed in the game.
-
Great slide into second there for Rowand!
-
That was a great bunt

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) Did anyone see the mullet wigs Hawk and DJ were wearing? I personally like this promotion. man, I'm watching it on MLB.tv since I'm from New Jersey, and they are giving me the Detroit announcers. Its just not the same..
-
He had a pretty rough night with all those errors.. Perhaps that has something to do with it? I mean, its the first time he'd ever done that badly in the field.. gotta be tough to handle.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) I prefer Iguchi hitting behind pods, always. I just like the dynamic and think it works. Obviously there is a good reason for him not starting tonight, so let's hope Willie strings together some more good AB's. I thought DJ made a good point last night that Harris is trying to turn on more balls and becoming more aggressive, rather than trying to slap the ball around. Works for me! I like it with Iguchi in the lineup more as well, although as long as he is out, I like this lineup the most. Willie is a better #9 hitter, and since Ozuna's been hot, he's been a pretty good hitter after Podsednik, and he is able to get down a sacrifice and move Podsednik onwards.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) why no Iguchi? Is he late again? Tonight's Lineup Pods, LF ... Ozuna, 3B ... Everett, DH ... PK, 1B ... Rowand, CF ... Dye, RF ... AJ, C ... Uribe, SS ... Harris, 2B ... Garcia, RHP. This is a good lineup while everyone is hitting. Ozuna has been getting hits basically every game he plays, and Rowand is a great hitter in the #5 spot. I also like Harris in the #9 spot more than Uribe there.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) I love Pauly. Just not a $12M Pauly. I hope he's back next year, just not with a ridiculous contract. $12 million dollar Paul is fine with me. He's a great hitter, and the Sox shouldnt really flinch before resigning him.. I'd much rather Paul Konerko at that price than Ken Griffey Jr. at any price (especially the high price tag he has).

I might be the only one, but I think El Duque should definetly be in the rotation, and depending on Contreras, possibly in the 4 spot. El Duque is the only starter with true playoff experience, and has been dominant in the playoffs throughout his career.
-
If he played like he has through the second half, then he would have a chance, but as it stands, he has no shot.

Sox added a bat at the deadline.............

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) The real headline should be: White Sox add a front-of-the-rotation starting pitcher! Jose F'ing Contreras. Wow. If he can keep this up and keep doing whatever it is he figured out (i.e. confidence, location, etc.) the Sox are a much, much, much stronger team down the strech and into the playoffs. I just can't stress enough how big this could be for the ballclub. He just needs to be taken out of the game before he gives up his HR or two a game. I think the big difference in Contreras now and earlier this year is his control. He hasnt been walking anyone for the past few games, and control can do alot for you -
I wonder if they'd let the Sox players wear mullets on the field for tonights game

QUOTE(joeynach @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) meaning this is the strongest lineup we have You dont really know if thats true or not, I mean, have you tested all the other lineups? But yea, this is definetly the one we should be using for the majority of with Crede on the DL.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) there goes the shut out..... There goes facing the minimum..

Its great to see the Sox offense finally get back on track. What a way to start off September.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) I do not think it is blind optimism to think the Sox will do well. All of the facts suggest the White Sox should do well, it is only those who want to look at a small sample size who write about gloom and doom. 1) The White Sox have one of the best pitching rotations in baseball. Pitching not hitting is what wins championships. 2) Every team wins 40 games and loses 40 games. The White Sox won many earlier this year that they should not have won. Eventually the ebb and flow will mean the Sox would lose some games that they should not win. 3) The Indians and Twins have to play each other, and the White Sox. Unless either the Twins or Indians (mainly the Indians at this point) blow out the other 2, there is no way they can catch the Sox. 4) The return of Pods. When a team is built on speed and getting leads early, losing that piece is devastating to the offense. Eventually the Indians will cool, lose a series, get swept, etc, and next thing you know the Sox magic number will be around 10 with us still having a 5 game or so lead. Right now 2 things are working against the Sox; 1) The Sox are playing bad. 2) The Indians are playing better than every other team in baseball. If either of these change, the division is done. SB I agree with just about everything in this post.
