  1. Ironically, I just opened a fortune cookie which says "Your luck has been completely changed today." GO SOX!!!1
  2. Whoever called that Crede granny is looking smart right now.
  3. FINALLY!!!1 SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENS FOR THE SOX.
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) What about wagers on the Sox playoff status? I would bet you $1000 that the Sox make the playoffs.
  5. Now, I havent read this thread (I assume thats its all "blah blah Ozzie sucks its all his fault"), but here are my thoughts. No, Ozzie should not be fired, and shouldnt even be worrying about his job. You know why? We werent expecting the World Series this year. I, for one, was hoping for the playoffs and winning the central, so if we miss the playoffs, yes, it will be a disappointment considering how we played earlier this year, but no, Ozzie shouldnt be fired over it. And again, the White Sox still have the best record in the American League. I seriously am beginning to think people forget that.
  6. IGUCHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII time to go to work, they better win.
  7. Bases juiced. Lets go Jermaine, tie it before I go to work (5 minutes)
  8. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Do wins against the Royals still count the same as wins against the Yankees in the standings? Look, I'm as seriously pissed about this team right now as anyone, but until we dont have a division lead, not much I can let out about. Things suck right now, but we all knew this team wasn't as good as the record indicated before, at least it shoulda been obvious. perfectly said.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) I notice that the Indians are what, 8-2? Who gives a s*** about Boston right now. We also had a 7 game winning streak, and have since lost 6 out of 7. I just mentioned Boston because of their situation in their division as well.
  10. And here I am, looking at the standings and seeing the White Sox still with the best record in the AL. I'm also looking at the "previous 10 games" and noticing that they are 5-5, just like Boston.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) I've been staying away from this gt all day, but did Uribe have a play on the guy going to 3rd base there? Help us out for those that can't watch this amazing game. It would have been a close play. Not worth the risk throwing it to third.
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) Uribe doesnt take the man at 3rd, throws the guy out. WTF. Bad offense, bad defense, and bad baserunning. Corpseball 2005 Would you rather first and third with no outs or runner on third with 1 out? Uribe did the smart move
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) So seriuosly, did anyone see what Cora's sign was when Carl was heading towards 3rd on that play a half inning ago? It wasnt Cora's fault. Carl was just being lazy.
  14. The fielding and running is reminding me of that, but Buehrle is actually doing well.. unlike Garcia.
  15. Now, I know no one said this, but Podsednik is an upgrade over Carlos Lee defensively. So far on the year (I'm just going to spit out some defense numbers), Pods has a fielding% of .987, a range factor of 2.30, and a zone rating of .901. Lee on the other hand has a fielding% of .980, a range factor of 2.08, and a zone rating of .867. Make of it what you will. edit: Pods actually has the second highest range factor, and third highest zone rating in the league for LF.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) Please list me the positves for ozzie... i will then list the negatives. I can think of 88 right away.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) Says who? Without Ozzie, the White Sox would just be trying to hit the ball as hard as they can and hope they score enough runs to beat their opponent. Ozzie is the reason that the Sox have this type of lineup, and it has been successful all year so far.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Well, these are Ozzie and KW's players. That's one thing they have no one to blame for but themselves. Oh yes. Lets blame them for having the best record in the AL (and MLB for most of the year).
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) This Ballgame was lost when Dye booted the ball. Which time?
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) This loss is due to Dustin Hermanson not executing in the 9th inning. They had a two run lead, a two run lead is a two run lead, whether it's 9-7 or 2-0. He fell behind hitters and then left everything up in the zone. 4 consecutive hard hit balls, game over. This falls on Dustin Hermanson's shoulders, and Dustin Hermanson will likely be the first one to say so. How right you are. He got behind the hitters early and often, and he got burned for it.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) The Sox had total control of this game at 9-5 heading into the bottom of the 6th. Garcia clearly had nothing tonight, and just busted his ass to get out of the 5th inning with 91 pitches thrown. So, why bring him out to start the next inning? That is the move by Ozzie I'm criticizing tonight....and it's a common managing problem he's had all season. He has no clue when to pull his starters. Even with that, the Sox were still winning, and they only lost because of their defense. Was it Ozzie's fault that their defense couldnt field tonight?
