  1. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 26, 2010 -> 04:12 AM) All fans b**** about refs. Well aware, and it's incredibly amusing and really annoying at the same time. If you read this thread, you'd be convinced that every ref in the NBA has a personal vendetta against the Chicago Bulls and will do everything within their power to prevent the Bulls from ever being successful again.
  2. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 25, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) You forgot Kevin Love. Indeed. It's gotten to the point where I was actually somewhat disappointed by his 25 and 19 effort against Utah.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 25, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) There's refs in baseball now? Shhhh. I liked how it flowed better with refs instead of umps
  4. I love listening to Bulls fans b**** about refs. It's incredibly similar to Illini fans b**** about refs. And Bears fans b**** about refs. And White Sox fans b**** about refs.

HIGHLY entertaining. I won't call it Kick Ass because there's no little girl calling people c***s, but it's pretty damn close.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) I believe he's talking about Scott Pilgrim. Indeed. The topic of the IRC channel had been telling me to watch it for long enough. Tonight's the night.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) It's funny because I f***ing hated Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder, he was funny for a few minutes but after that it was just way too much. I'm definitely in the minority on that one. A complete aside, but guess who's finally taking your advice?

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) *blank stare* I'm far from a movie snob, but.... Anywho, True Grit was excellent. The problem with Requiem for a Dream was that all it did was make you feel really, really terrible about yourself and humanity. It was an extremely powerful movie, and again, the collective parts were good (cinematography, music, acting -- for the most part), but I found the movie as a whole to just be an exercise of how terrible Arnofsky could make you feel, and the moral that I got out of it was incredibly dull. Just because you felt something after you saw the movie doesn't mean it was a good film. Tropic Thunder was just very entertaining. It was a self-aware comedy that did a good job of both making fun of itself and the industry. I don't see what's wrong with enjoying that type of movie.

Tropic Thunder was an awesome, awesome movie. Robert Downey Jr is great.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) I've yet to be disappointed by Aranofsky. Requiem for a Dream was awful. The collective parts were good, but the movie was just terrible.
  11. A day or so late since I was out of town, but RIP Don Van Vliet, aka Captain Beefheart. There will never be another Beefheart
  12. Since I was out of town the last few days and didn't have post it, I'll post it now: Kevin. Love.

    Winter...LOL

Minneapolis has just been absolutely dumped on so far this year. Very rough start to winter.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) The best PG's in the league now weren't the best in their 3rd seasons either, were they? I never said they were. Read what I said. I never said Rose wasn't a great player, and I never denied that his future in incredibly bright. But right now? He's not the best point guard in the league, and certainly not the best player in the league.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 09:12 AM) What were some jokers saying at the beginning of the season about John Wall already being better than Derrick Rose. Derrick Rose just might be the best player in the NBA. It's hard to be the best player in the league when you aren't even the best at your position. Stop drinking the kool-aid, Bulls fans. Rose is great and still incredibly young, and might some day be the best PG in the league, but he's not yet.
  16. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) Kahn has added talent to that team, so that's a great thing. They need to trade some of the young guys for better players/vets and they'll be cooking. Their most missing a penetrating PG who can be Rubio. I absolutely hated the Johnny Flynn pick though and still do. Flynn hasn't even played yet this year. I don't think he fits the system as he's more of a pick and roll type of PG, but I don't think you can discount a young PG after one season of play. I suspect he'll end up more of a 6th man type of player, but it's way too early to close the book on him.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) I'm awaiting the obligatory Felix: "Kevin. Love." Since you asked for it: Kevin. Love. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) Shame Kahn can't surround him with talent. Here's hoping Rubio will help. I'm hardly a Kahn fanboy, but I do think he gets way too much crap from the overall public. There's plenty of talent on the team right now, but given their age and immaturity, it hasn't led to as many wins as desired. Had they been able to hold onto a couple of wins down the stretch, this team could easily have five or six more wins right now. There's plenty of reason to be at least conservatively optimistic about the Wolves future. I didn't see the game tonight and I'm glad I didn't. Looked awful. Not too surprising though, we aren't too good on the road and the Bulls are a fairly quality team. s*** happens.
  18. Because all of my posts in this thread have basically turned into randomawesomeKevinLovetidbet, I'll give another one: Guess how many NBA players in the history of the league have ever averaged 15+ rebounds and shot 40+% from three-point range? Here's a hint: zero. Love is currently averaging 15.7 and shooting 41+% from 3.
  19. QUOTE (kev211 @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) How awesome is it that we are going to be able to watch Derrick Rose night in and night out for the next decade or so? Not as awesome as being able to watch Kevin Love for the next decade :smug:
  20. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 12:04 AM) Those black jerseys were awesome. Yes, yes they were. The jerseys as a whole really took a huge step forward this year, and the black jersey just accents that.
  21. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 9, 2010 -> 11:09 AM) I've predicted that since the first episode. I really hope it isn't the case.. it's way too obvious of a twist.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 04:59 PM) lol@steve. You failed again. Bulls player of the month? That's like winning employee of the month at Burger King. Yeah, you really need to learn how to read, Steve.
  23. Fwiw, Paul and Westbrook have higher PERs than Rose this year. Rose also has a fairly low TS%, which certainly doesn't help his case of being better than Paul, Williams, etc.
