White Sox @ Cubs
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 07:34 PM) Last year's Cubs series was the beginning of our demise, it better not be again this year. They got swept by the Tigers. Besides the Pirates series, the Sox have sucked since.

HineyBird poops out another gem
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 10:52 AM) Seriously why do you guys pay any attention to Mariotti? At all? It reminds me of that Simpsons where the advertisements come alive and start destroying everything. If you stop looking, it will just go away. I think we Paul Anka to come and sing "Just Don't Look."

White Sox Loser
QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) This is not saying much now but I felt before the series started it would be tied 1-1 going into Sunday night. Really like our chances tomorrow, I see no reason we don't score at least 8 off of Marquis. Because it's the White Sox not playing at the Cell.

White Sox Loser
I was sitting in my office thinking, if they bring in Linebrink with the game tied, it's over. I figured the Cubs had seen him too many times and he's not a 9th inning guy. Whatever, they lost because the offense stranded runners every inning. That should have been a blowout. But why didn't Danks stay in the game?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I've seen many broadcasts this season where Hawk called out the pitchers for not bailing out the defense. So it goes both ways.

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 05:53 PM) The thing is, too, that the kids have not given me a single problem so far. I've had a catcher yell "nice pitch" on close pitches before when I call a ball and he thinks its a strike, but nothing more than that. I had a coach that told our catcher to say that. So, that probably isn't the kid's idea.

6/17 Game Thread: PIT @ CWS, 7:11pm CT
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 09:47 PM) Where was that last week? This team is a freaking tease. They are fine at piling on. Where was Thome's homer when the bags were loaded earlier? I hate to complain right now, but I know that what I'm seeing is meaningless as soon as the game ends.

Keep piling on. Lord knows you have to make up for the crappy stats in Detroit. Yours Truly, Debbie Downer.

found this
QUOTE (TheBlackSox8 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 01:51 AM) looking for help on how to deal with a traffic ticket, and came across this part 1 part 2 part 3 According to part 1, the government does not have the right to prosecute people for breaking the law because law enforcement is not personally injured. I doubt the rest is worth watching. Although after working in the DA's office last summer, I can say this: you should hire an attorney. Not because traffic attorneys know something special about the law, but because they know the prosecutors and the fine and penalty will almost always be reduced. Disclaimer: I am not an attorney. I am in law school.

Thome Blows. And does he look a lot thinner to anyone else? Or is black a slimming color?

6/14/08 Rox v. Sox
Boy. I'm really happy to get home and turn this garbage on. I thought the Sox would walk out of this month with a commanding Central lead.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) well, at least I get the save for my fantasy team (even though I get the L for Danks on a great pitching performance). Great dude. Seriously. You don't know how happy we all are for you and your fantasy team.

Dye K's looking at a ball right down the middle. Another stellar performance by a s***ty offense. Thanks for those 4 games.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) Couldn't see the game today (out getting my father's day gift), but was De La Rosa actually good tonight, or was it our usual stink fest by the offense making De La Rosa look like Cy Young? He had a great slider, but he never threw it once for a strike. After 1 time through the order, there is no excuse for chasing a slider WAY off the plate. But they did.

Game over. 2-0 both runs unearned. This is a REALLY BAD fundamental team.
-
Rockies @ White Sox 6/14, 6:05 p.m. WGN
Have the Sox gotten the lead man out this game in any inning?
-
Rockies @ White Sox 6/14, 6:05 p.m. WGN
Well. Keep it within one. This team is usually good for a solo shot.

DP ends the threat. Can the sox ever steal with less than 2 out? Obviously no.
