7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) I can't see where he's adding to his trade value pissing away lead after lead. I can't either, but he's still out there. That trade might be one of the worst things KW has ever done.

7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:12 PM) It's beyond unbelievable that he isnt in there, it truely is. Is KW so worried about an injury coming in the next two months? Does he not understand that Vazquez and Garcia just plain suck? McCarthy has no defined role on this team. They don't use him in Long Relief, because Ozzie leaves the starters out there, no matter how hard they get rocked. I remember Steve Stone saying that the only reason Vaz is still out there is because of trade value. I'm worried that KW might not want to move him to the bullpen because nobody will want to trade for him after the season. I don't like it, but I don't know what else to think.

7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) His 87 mph fastball has looked very hittable. And that slow fastball makes all of the rest of his pitches more hittable. Want proof? The Orioles are hitting him very well and have scored 3 runs so far, and he's not out of the 3rd inning. That's probably the case, because he has hit his spots but nobody is having trouble hitting the ball.

An the error costs them a run.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) I'd like to see Freddy lose 30 pounds. He looks fat and tired. Yeah, the new haircut makes his face look even bigger. There's an error on Uribe, man on first. Garcia has not looked bad at all so far. Things really haven't gone his way, but these situations have cost this team dearly.

PK is fighting off a lot. It's a full count. PK works a walk, bases loaded for Dye.

For those who can't watch it's 2 and 2 on PK with 2 men on and 2 out.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) Pretty sure this has been put to rest, no? I thought Kenny said he dropped out of the race, if he was really ever in it in the first place. I personally, really want a SS over a LF. But LF is a close second. Yeah it doesn't look like anything is going to happen at the deadline. At least nothing major.

The Sox really need a sweep here. Either the Twins or Tigers have to lose 2, so it would be nice a gain a couple games on someone.

Zito to Sox (3-Way trade possibility)
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Right now Vazquez is the least of this clubs worries. At least he gives the Sox a chance to mount a decent size lead in the first 5 innings. Buehrle gives the Sox no chance at that and gives it right back up anytime the team helps him out. Vazquez is one inning away from being a dominant pitcher...it's too bad he can't seem to get it done.

ESPN reporter regrets Soriano 'scoop'
Didn't KW want to raise the value of Soriano for the Tigers? For all we know, this is exactly what he wanted. BTW, players have to be more professional than to let the trade deadline affect them. They go through this every year, and it didn't seem to hurt any team the Sox were playing.

New Line-Up Suggestion
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) Pods has not stolen a base since the All Star break. The one thing that he gives you offensively, and he isn't doing it. I'm quite certain this is his last season in a White Sox uniform. To this I'll add that Mackowiak has proven to be a much smarter baserunner than Pods, even if he isn't as fast. He can still steal a few bases, he doesn't get picked off, and knows how to get down to second to break up a double play.

Twins @ Sox - 7/26 Game Thread
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) Has anyone noticed how the Twins best player got the day off today and they still scored 7 runs on us? That was one of the first things that popped into my mind.

Twins @ Sox - 7/26 Game Thread
QUOTE(brijames @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) I havent read this whole thread so if this was mentioned I apologise but this team needs a good ole fashion bench clearing knock em down drag em out brawl. ...that already happened once this year, and here they are. How bout a pitcher make the third out of an inning without blowing up.

Twins @ Sox - 7/26 Game Thread
QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) Watch plenty of games this year and it seems to all blend the same way, yet you can see it coming and nothing you think could help is done. This offense is gonna have to carry this team for possibly the whole season, our SP have such low confidence its starting to affect everyone. I think this is a good way to put it. Hawk was talking about how a team gets going because of good pitching performances rather than good offensive performances. At this point, there aren't any real good pitching performances, and when the team has the mentality that they have to score 8 runs a game, it makes things real hard.

Soriano Rumors: Part Deux
QUOTE(ChiSox9 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) I am, not asking for him back. I am saying since he is a natural OF, he would be a stronger choice then Soriano for teams needing a corner OF. Which, in turn, i would believe the entering of CLee to the trade market could potentially decrease Soriano's trade value. CLee is a converted third baseman if memory serves.
