  1. The Red Sox were on the cover of Sports Illustrated November 1st for during the World Series and November 8th for winning the World Series...back to back weeks. The 2003 & 1997 Marlins were on 1 cover and that was for both winning the World Series. The 2001 Diamondbacks were on back to back covers, but that series went to 7 games and featured a massive blown save by Mariano Rivera. The 2002 Angels only got 1 cover and that was for winning it all. So, if it's Boston or New York...2 covers. Anyone else, 1 cover.
  2. I got the Sun-Times 11 x 14 photo of the Sports section cover in the mail yesterday. It's the one that is a photo of the team celebrating and says CHAMPS at the bottom. It's a cool photo and I'm going to put it in a frame. Other than that, I have a wish list on the MLB site of all the stuff I want. World Series flag, bumper stickers (I'm going to put those on Cubs fans cars), WS shirt and hat, little WS trophy desk weight and a massive White Sox banner. The one thing that I'm working on, is that I'm putting all the highlights on DVD. But for game 4 of the WS, I'm putting the entire game and all the celebration on DVD. I got the double layer DVD's for that.
  3. According to my calculations, I'm 97% positive that these dorks have never kissed a women and 100% positive that they've never had sex with a woman. Stat nerds!!
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) The demand for a Red Sawx DVD set with all of the games is a lot higher than a DVD set with all of the Sox playoff games. Nothing against the White Sox fan base, myself included, I just don't see a set like that coming out for us. The Red Sawx had a lot larger national following and it was covered a lot heavier than our run. Just my two cents, but I don't see a chance for any official release of a DVD set of all of our playoff games. Yes and no. But, I believe if they are going to put out Season 1 of Good Times, then why can't they put the White Sox on DVD? There is more White Sox fans than Good Times fans. I couldn't say that with confidence before the rally, but now I'm 100% sure.
  5. I wanted to send something to Brooks about this same topic. A single season DVD recap would be great as would a single disc World Series DVD. However, I was more interested in getting something similar to the 12 disc deluxe box set that the Boston Red Sox got last year. All 7 games of the ALCS and all 4 games of the WS. Also, all sorts of other interesting stuff. Link to Amazon for Red Sox DVD Or the Yankees DVD Box set
  6. Thank you to the players, each and everyone who played. 119 Games is a lot of concentration and work. Thank you to any fan that attended any Sox games this year, and...... Thank you to Jerry Reinsdorf and the Sox owners for turning this once joke of a MLB team into World Series champions!!!!
  7. Paulie is worth a lot of money, but in the end it is pitching and defense that kept the Sox in those close games.
  8. I want: 1. A White Sox 2005 World Series flag that I can hang from a flag pole. 2. White Sox World Champion T-Shirt 3. White Sox deluxe DVD box set with a ton of footage (I have no idea if this exists, but I want it) 4. A White Sox cermaic mug that says "2005 World Champions" 5. Another bottle of Dom Perignon, since I popped my other one on October 26, 2005!
  9. I think they are pretty similar plays. They were both foul balls that the player jumped into the crowd to go after. The difference is that Alou had to jump high to even get in play, while Uribe had a very long run and a short wall to dive over. And of course the biggest diference was Uribe made the catch and Alou missed it and then threw a tantrum.
  10. I think this photo says it all.
  11. When your down 3-0, it's easy to sit and pick apart the managers decsions. But, this is the 3rd playoff series against the Sox and all three teams have looked bad. My belief is that it's the White Sox great play that is making the Astros look bad, not Garner's decisions. My belief is that more attention should be given to the Sox's play than anything else.
  12. The 1985 Bears had a much bigger following basically because there is only 1 NFL team in Chicago, almost everyone in Chicago was rooting for the Bears. By nature of having 2 MLB teams in Chicago, the city is half as excited for the Sox. Also, the 1985 Bears were a very exciting team, with all the sacks, interceptions, Payton, McMahon, the team was full of interesting characters. The hit Wilber Marshall put on Joe Fegurson was one of the most vicious hits I've ever seen....I thought Fergurson was dead!
  13. One more game to stay loose, yet aggresive! One more game to poor it on, and don't let them up!! Go out there and finish it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Don't get me wrong, Paulie has been solid the last 2 years, but I would be a lot more devistated if any of our 6 starting pitchers left. We'll be able to fill in Paulie's spot, just ask Magglio.
  15. Moronetti should be ridiculed for his hatered of Reinsdorf. The guy has a personal vendetta against JR, because he "broke-up" the 1998 Bulls. The sad part is that every Chicago fan knew that the 1998 Bulls was most likely the last year the Bulls were going to be good and would rather see MJ and the Bulls go out a champion, rather than lose to the Knicks. But why would common sense and facts get in the way of a rant and raving story? I can't wait for that ugly a-hole to pack up his bags and move back to Pittsburgh! The guy doesn't represent Chicago, it's fans or it's fans knowledge of sports. As for the poster that pointed out that the Sox are two wins away, but we're complaining about a bad sports writer....all I have to say is that if I won the lottery, dated a supermodel, drove a 1963 Jaguar E-Type and all my sports teams were winning, I would still complain about Moronetti. I won't rest until this jerk is out of Chicago.
  16. Why is it that a writer like Moronetti can make wild ass comments about the White Sox all year, yet when he's proved wrong, all he has to say is "I was wong" and all is forgotton? Moronetti should be run out of Chicago for being the dumbest, A-hole, negative writer ever. The guy should be treated like a pirraha for what he wrote about the White Sox.
  17. I had 4 tickets on the computer for game 1 of the ALCS and when I hit the delivery method, a Proxy Error screen poped up and my tickets were released. The same thing happened to my friend who was trying to get tickets. That totally sucked. Something tells me that it will happen again.
  18. This is what Brooks said: "Creating a poster for sale is tricky because it would have to go through a licensing process. " So, if you like that ad, cut it out and save it, because I think that's it. Too bad.
  19. I got Brook's e-mail and asked about turning that ad into a poster. I will post what he says.
  20. In today's Sun-Times there is a very cool ad for the White Sox on pages 144 & 145. It shows El Duque in various photos getting out of the 6th inning. Check it out, it's very cool. Does anyone have Brooks Boyer's e-mail? I want to tell him that I think it would make a great poster.
  21. Cusack is a Cubs fan first. He only goes to the Sox games to be seen. My guess is that it's like work for him. Show up, put on a Sox hat, get your face on TV and leave. And don't tell me he's a "Chicago" fan. The guy can go to hell. However, I loved him in Sixteen Candles and Say Anything.
  22. Did Jeff Brantly whip out his Power Mullet and beat that clown Dan Patrick to the ground? I hope so. When ESPN turns off the telepropter, the crap that flys out of Dan Patrick's mouth is moronic.
  23. 1. The play was too close for Josh Paul not to tag A.J. How hard is it to tag a guy who's walking back to the dugout? Even if he thought he caught it. 2. I thought the ball hit the ground and was a trap. 3. I have no idea what the arm wipe or arm clinch mean, but A.J. ran to first and that's heads up. 4. Josh Paul couldn't throw out Ozuna. 5. Crede got the cluch hit. 6. Does this call make up the horrible calls made in Oakland earlier this year?
  24. I think this just proves that Maggs only cared about himself. Myabe it took a spanish speaking manager to figure out that he's a loser, but I'm gald he's not on the Sox anymore. Maggs has his money, the Sox have the hardware!
