QUOTE(max power @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 01:44 PM) Maybe this was done to appease the religious nuts. I keep hearing people suggest this. Is there any truth to this? Those new uniforms are awful. They look like someone spend 15 minutes playing around with clip-art.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 04:00 AM) Strikes and balls are a judgment call, but a home run should be clear cut as to whether it is or it isn't. A foul ball should be clear as to whether it is or it isn't. A strike? That's up to the umpire (and Quest-Tec in certain parks, but Quest-Tec is an abomination and should be destroyed and flown straight into the sun). You just made my point for me (re: slippery slope/ Quest-Tec)

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 08:02 PM) Why would you want it to? I'd love to see as many things able to be replayed, if necessary, as possible. Because human error is part of the game. Because the game doesn't need to be slowed down anymore. If you can review one type of call why not another? Why not balls and strikes? Why not just eliminate the umpires all together and put some fancy RFID/GPS tag in the ball?

QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) I guess I could support this, but in my opinion instant replay should stop here. In a vacuum I could support replay for home runs, but this is why I can't. It won't stop here, it never does.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Nov 4, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) If it is such a big deal, why don't they just display two helmets, one from when he was on the Pirates, and one from when he got the record, so everyone can actually see how much his head has grown during that time (natural growth of course). I would love to see that on display.

As Sandy Alderson once said: "This is either a threat to be ignored or an offer to be accepted." QUOTE(Nokona @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) I seem to have forgotten when he got caught using steroids... The people who live in denial about this amaze me. Bonds testified to a grand jury that he used the "clear & cream." Gary Sheffield told Bob Costas on Costas Now that he and Bonds used the clear & the cream, but didn't consider them steroids because "steroids is something you shoot in your butt." I guess Sheffield must think crack isn't a narcotic if you smoke it.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 30, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) More like protection. They see a couple of us northerners and they'll be feeding us tequila like it's cool aid only to leave us naked, broke and possibly violated. Sounds like a road trip! QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 30, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) I'd feel sorry for the guy if it wasn't for the fact that he whines all the time and acts like he's Bonds. He batted .225 as an everyday player, was eventually sent down in 2007 where he batted .255 at AAA. Shut up and play. He wants to know what the Whitesox "plans" are with him. There are no plans if you can't play. I have to agree with this. Put up or shut up. ---- FYI: http://www.aguilasdemexicali.com.mx/roster1.html -

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) So Red Sox in 1916, White Sox in 1917 Red Sox in 1918, White Sox scandal in 1919 Red Sox in 2004, White Sox in 2005 Red Sox in 2007, White Sox scandal in 2008 Maybe it comes out that Erstad and Pods were using Levitra instead of HGH.

Here is hoping that Fox gives him a late night talk show (as is rumored) to get him the hell out of the booth.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 01:03 AM) Is it just me, or when Joe Buck was talking about the success of Boston sports didn't he say "the White Sox made the world series." I swear he said White Sox instead of Red Sox. Joe Buck is a f***ing moron. I shocked he actually differentiated by color, instead of just "The Sox."

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 12:12 PM) I think stadium/field issues are one thing Bud has been looking over. Some of the playing fields/conditions have sucked, and Bud should put pressure on all teams to never let that be a problem. Also, I am still in shock that the Twins are allowed to build an outdoor stadium. That is going to end up being a nightmare IMO. That "Best interest of baseball" clause should have been used From what I read, there was a hard push to build a retractable style roof, but Hennepin County had no more money and Pohlad refused. From what I read the Twins are going to end up paying less than 1/3 the cost of the new ballpark, so it really falls on the ownership for being cheap-asses. -
Ha. The execs at Fox were most likely wetting themselves with excitement when when Boston won the ALCS, but their ratings will suck if this is a blowout. Although...

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 23, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) I'm pretty sure the A's already signed a deal to move to Fremont, California. Here is a link... http://ballparks.com/baseball/american/oakbpk.htm Hugo Chávez Field. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 23, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Comedy Gold Would this make the Athletics the most moved team in MLB history? (4 cities? The Boston, Milwaukee, Atlanta Braves is the only other three cities team I can think of off hand.)

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 13, 2007 -> 05:42 PM) NO one in Cleveland bugs me as much as the guy with the drum... If I remember correctly, when the Indians had to play a 'home game' at Miller Park this year due to snow, I think I read the club payed for him to go to Milwaukee. So annoying...

So I am sure I am not the only person to notice, but there is a guy who sits in the first row at Jacobs Field and is on camera every time there is a left-handed batter. And the guy keeps changing his hat during the game. Well, being peculiar as I am, this has always drove me nuts wondering if there is a backstory, and if so what it is. Today I finally got relief: Uni Watch: Man Of Many, Many Hats Cleveland Indians: O'Toole The Jake's cool cat in a hat

Southtown no longer covering pro sports (Sox)
Linnwood replied to RME JICO's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Huh, and I thought "no longer covering pro sports" was some snarky comment on the '07 season... -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) Well he actually hit .267 with an OPS over .800 Ah, the numbers I was looking at were for Games 1 thru 3.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 11:29 PM) Talk about f***ing ARod choking? Not this time...f*** Jeter. Rodríguez hit .181 (2/11) in the ALDS.

"IT IS FAIR... IT IS GONE......... it is foul...." Gee... I wonder who Chip is rooting for... f*** YOU NEW YORK! How low class of the Yankees organization to play "New York, New York" while the Indians celebrate on field.
