  1. Was originally going Friday and Saturday, but damn Kenny Chesney has to be in town at the same time. So, I will be there for the Friday night game only... Looking very forward to it, its one hell of a ballpark.
  2. My wife is a Cub fan and was running her mouth earlier. She is quiet now. I like that.
  3. Zambrano will put a TON more pressure on himself to go out and succeed tomorrow night, and he won't likely handle it well. He hasn't been that great since his no-hitter. I could see him doing a complete meltdown job on the mound. That being said, this is rather amusing. Every single one of us, I am sure, have Cub fan friends who spent the last few days telling us how easy this series was going to be and that they were going to sweep the Dodgers.
  4. Just f***ing WIN! Time for Javy to step up...
  5. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ May 11, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) Is BA starting today? According to a quote from Guillen in the Booyah network follow-up of the game, he will... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=280510112 Personally, I like it. The kid has looked great out there. I can't believe that catch he ALMOST made last night. Especially after the one he did make on Friday night. Hopefully they bring out the sticks again today and kick some Mariner ass...
  6. Great game Gavin!! Heading out there tomorrow, lets hope for a nice series win!
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) he caught it, Thats all I am concerned about right now. Such a petty thing to gripe about, whether he put his head down or not, sometimes outfielders lose the ball when they put their head down and run to the spot they think the ball is going to. I agree! Enough nitpicking. For Christ's sake, it isn't like he is Mackowiak out there... He may not be "ideal". But nothing he has done so far would lead me to believe that during the course of the season, should it stay this way, that he can't be good enough at the position to play it well. I think CQ has made a case for himself to stay in this lineup. With that said, Swish will be our centerfielder.
  8. s***... You can feel the f***ing momentum shift... They were up against the ropes too...
  9. Dear Umpires, Thank you for getting us out of the jam. Love, Eric Wedge
  10. f*** YEAH!!!! Nice to see some hustle on that one....
  11. Nice work AJ!!! Wasn't pretty, but I will take it!! Bye bye CC....
  12. Great.... Another year of Hawk 'Stretch'-ing s*** that doesn't even make the warning track... Woohoo!
  13. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 11:37 AM) was it last year that the indians had to play their games in Milwaukee because of bad weather? Yes it was... If it happens again, I would be more than willing to make the trip north! But, should they get this one in.... Lets kick ass!
  14. In today's Suntimes, Ozzie is saying that Uribe WILL in fact be starting at second on Monday... What a f***ing nightmare it will be trotting Uribe out there AGAIN this season. I don't care what kind of spring he had, yesterday is a good indication that he is not far from being back to his old hack-ass plate appearances.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 09:45 AM) Now in about a day or so, Couch (Marriotti Jr.) will write a follow up article basically rehashing the same things his big brother piped up about. The only thing different about Couch, however, is that when you e-mail him ripping his article, he will respond. We went back and forth last summer after an article he wrote about Ozzie like 2 weeks after Jay said the same s***. He was willing to concede that he may have been a little harsh/overboard... But you are right, all he generally does is rehash old crap...
  16. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) IMO Cabrera is better than Tejada and Renteria. Cabrera just won the GOLD GLOVE! He's a gamer. I hope they can sign him to a 3 year extension soon! Am I the only one who likes this move? Yes im worried about the rotation, but i think KW will bring in a decent veteran for a reasonable price... oh and he solidifies that 2 hole in our lineuP! No. I like it too. Its funny to me to see the love for Garland all of the sudden. Sometimes people around here have short memories when it comes to his 4th or 5th inning implosions and the use of the nickname "Judy". Cabrera is a solid, MLB ready player that is coming off a gold-glove season. It isn't grindErstad all over again. While I am still confused as to the role that Uribe will play, I am going to wait back and rate this offseason when all is said and done.
  17. Goodbye Juan...don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out...not that you would feel it... While the other options aren't exactly the most exciting ones, I can't take another year of watching him swing at s***, look ugly doing it, start getting lazier on defense, and most of all, show up to spring training resembling the body of Cecil Fielder more and more each year.
  18. He may be worth a shot. It isn't like there is much else out there anyhow. I like Richar, but I don't think he is a shoe in by any means.
  19. Congrats Jim!!! What an outstanding game to be at, despite the direction of the season.
  20. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Aug 25, 2007 -> 05:10 PM) Riding the el to the game last night from north, tons, of Red Sox fans as well. If that isn't a hint, then I don't know what is.... Cub Fans... Thank you and good night...
  21. Stubhub, etc... It cracked me up to hear the asshats on Fox talking about how "Red Sox Nation" travels the most out of any other team. I call bulls***. Most of the the time its Johnny Toolbox who lives in Winnetka and has been a HUGE Red Sox fan since ESPN told him to become one in 2004. The collective Red Sox asskissing that is occuring on Fox today is astounding....
  22. Just got home... GREAT GAME!! Way to go Bobby! and Josh Fields, you are my new man-crush.
