  1. Hopefully you aren't trying to equate the "moves" of San Diego to what the Sox have done so far, because they do not belong in the same universe. You have two teams who are in essentially the same position of a rebuild to championship transition, and the Sox are acting like they know their window is almost over while the Padres are acting like they want to win for the next five years. They absolutely destroyed us during the talent acquisition phase, while we concentrated only on top end talent, and ignored the international market to our detriment. The Sox COULD be shifting into a phase of owning the AL Central for the next five years, but they just don't want to act like it.
  2. That is a pretty generous reading of the situation. I mean in the world, if your boss tells you to put a hire on the list, how many people out there are going to oppose the guy who signs the checks? If Jerry told them to put TLR on the list it seems REALLY obvious what he is telling them.
  3. I absolutely agree with that. It is obvious that Hahn had his eye set on Hinch, and from the reactions of the players, had already pitched them on the idea. JR 100% overruled that. But that only supports that idea that JR interfered here to create the situation HE wanted, and not the one the front office wanted.
  4. The fact that Hahn said that he had a whole interview list that never got to once Jerry latched on to Tony shows otherwise. I don't know that he gets involved in everything, but JR does get what he wants when he does want something, That much is clear. We have other instances in this teams history, such as the contracts which were directly negotiated by Jerry.
  5. There is no "penalty box" anymore. It is a hard cap, plus no trades for space for the next two years.
  6. Unless Jerry finally decides to spend, no.
  7. We get Tony LaRussa though. That fixes everything!
  8. I think the most important part of the deal for the Sox is that it weakens another potential AL playoff team in 2021.
  9. I like Jason so much more than Steve it isn't even funny. He condescending attitude towards Jason at times gets annoying quickly.
  10. Yeah that time for that was when they were 5-7 and had lost 6 in a row. But then they went back to Mitch and figured out what they should have seen years ago, that Mitch isn't a downfield QB, and that you gotta move him around and keep it quick and simple. At this stage, there is not really much of a difference between 8 and 9 wins, so you might as well go ahead and get the boys that taste of playoff experience and see what happens.
  11. What has this Colas guy ever broken?
  12. Howard is YEARS down the road. We are probably talking something like 2024 or so. He isn't a dude who fits our timeline at all. There is zero good reason to give up guys who will help us in 21/22/23 for someone who won't be able to help us for years.
  13. He is just repeating what a member of the White Sox is saying, along with a host of other reports.
  14. Luis Robert reported on Zack Wheeler?
  15. You realize that the reason we don't have Colas TODAY is because we dealt international dollars for cost savings which we never used, right?
  16. Kluber set for a workout next month
  17. It's 2020, we aren't going backwards and rebuilding anymore.
  18. You keep ignoring the fact this deal was agreed to long before Colas was available. The Sox aren't going to burn down their Cuban connections and pipeline just for 1 player. It is shooting yourself in the foot to get a day off of work.
  19. The very 1st article states that the Angels SHOULD have on him. Not going to waste time on the three, because every team SHOULD have interest, but until you literally show me the money of who CAN sign him, this isn't dealing in reality.
  20. Who else can sign him and for how much?

I GOTTA LOTTA PROBLEMS WITH YOU PEOPLE!
  22. Sure, and for a year or two it will be ugly. Then the PA will cave to a draft and order will be restored.
