  1. Weird in the sense that everyone is 3 to 5 years away. I would have expected them to not be looking so far out.
  2. They may well need an expert on bankruptcy and not paying their bills.. oh wait you aren't talking about the Cubs.
  3. The Padres picked up the contract. I would bet money this is where the deal broke down for the Sox.
  4. They will be top 10 prospects for the Cubs. It is a weird haul for them. Everyone is so far away.
  5. Bro you took that way too seriously.
  6. Money to spend? I will believe that when I see it.
  7. Until they clear up that fraudlent ownership structure, they are screwed.
  8. And now they are going to dump him for scraps.
  9. Really surprised this happened without any of the Pads top players, but this is what happens when you are willing to take on salary right now. Most surprised that the entire Cubs package is guys who are on a 2023 to 2025 type of schedule. Could be a great deal, but they are all SO far away.
  10. Because how the Sox relate to this hasn't come up at all in this thread.
  11. Kim Jung Trump won't allow it.
  12. I don't know when this turned into a meme, but we don't need to "win the offseason". We had a few holes on a team that could be on the verge of doing something special if those holes are filled. This team needed a RF, 2 SPs, and a closer going into the offseason to put it on a level to compete with the big boys, and not just the AL Central. So far they have addressed one SP hole, and found themselves a reclamation project in RF. That isn't filling the holes they have, let alone "winning the offseason.
  13. The Sox have a great top 5, with a few who will graduate very shortly. The Padres have a great top 5, and the best top 20 in baseball. The difference is once you get past the top of the Sox list, the rest of the Sox farm system is very mediocre at best. The Padres system is levels better than the White sox.
  14. No offense, but there isn't a major publication who feels the Sox farm system is better than San Diego. I think I am going to go with the professionals here over a random internet poster.
  15. The Sox style isn't to make late moves. I sure don't expect them to sign anyone else big, outside of maybe a closer,
  16. The Padres STILL have more talent on the way than the Sox do, as the Sox have a very limited farm system after about half a dozen top level guys, They aren't just constructed for today, they have big things still on the way .
  17. Talent wise, this team MIGHT be good enough to win the division. They are most likely a playoff team. They COULD be one of the best teams in baseball with some key additions. If they looked to add talent at a level that recognized this, people wouldn't give a crap about San Diego. To try to sell to the team that a brand new pitching coach is the best addition of an off season where it is all right there for the taking is absolutely a statement on why White Sox fans are pissed off this off season.
  18. What he is saying is that is where the Sox are right now, not what they might still spend.
  19. Great. So now about that big picture.
