  1. There is a better chance they didn't call up him up because of dollars and control than because he wasn't hitting. Why not that? We know for a fact that the Sox do this to players. They did it to Eloy, they did it to Robert, and they did it to Madrigal. What makes Vaughn different?
  2. As of now, the Sox have a full 40 man roster, which means they can't pick anyone.
  3. It is not what you know, it is who you know.
  4. Seeing as the rumors about a call up where very hot and heavy even after the trade deadline, it feels like they believed in him.
  5. I get the "he has never played above A+" thoughts, but that camp he played at last year, was essentially a AAA type of experience, plus a lot of high level prospects mixed in. Especially the younger kids who were in the rookie to A range of teams talked about how much more talented the players were, how much better they had to be to win, and how much more intense it was than the usual lower affiliated ball teams are. So while, yes, Vaughn didn't make the Winston Salen/Birmingham/Charlotte circuit that he should of done last year, he DID get a LOT of experience that he would have gotten in that year by being at that Schaumburg camp.
  6. What do you think the odds of Eaton playing 150 games is? He did it 3 of 7 full seasons in his career, and was only at 41 of 60 last year, so it would be 3 of 8.
  7. I read that as a serial licker. Your version makes a lot more sense/
  8. If you go to the Eaton thread, we are talking downtown Chicago lunch spots.
  9. Good for James. Hopefully he makes generational money.
  10. I think we are in the toy ukulele section of the post season.
  11. I made lunch early because I was starving after this thread. Definitely not a Gold Coast burger tho
  12. Dude, they do the best bacon cheeseburger around. Melted liquid cheddar cheese so it gets down into the gaps of the hamburger paddy. and almost infuses itself into the burger as it cooks instead of a melted slice of cheese sitting on top.
  13. First the Twins GM, now this. They are smoldering mess.
  14. Colome is almost always ahead of his FIP. His career FIP is about 6 tenths of a run higher than his actual ERA. Some guys just have the stuff to pitch over their expectations and "fool" the stats. 6 out of his 8 full seasons he has out performed his FIP.
  15. Hendriks is an interesting name. The one thing that stands out about him is that his stuff is completely different than the rest of the back of that pen. He gives you a completely different look than Bummer, who is different than Crochet, who is different than Foster, who is different than Heuer etc. Hopefully it doesn't allow hitters to get comfortable as we roll through the pen with these guys.
  16. The Sox obviously have zero belief in Mercedes as a major leaguer or he would have gotten his chances either in 19 or 20.
  17. Uh, no. I am an admin who can see the names attached to the reactions. But nice assumption there.
  18. Raises for players under contract alone like a new $20 million.
  19. It isn't him giving the laughing emoji, for the record.
