  1. Well the good news is that means this is dead.
  2. So out of Cease, Kopech, and Dunning the Sox were willing to move Dane. I hate giving up 6 years of Dunning and only getting a year back, but it seems like they must believe in Cease and Kopech to keep them instead.
  3. Wait what? Any screen caps, or is this a funny?
  4. If we add 30 million in annual payroll from one deal, I would be shocked if do much else other than round out the pen, bring in a low end starter, and a back up catcher. That's probably another 10 million there if we keep it conservative and don't chase the higher end relievers.
  5. It's not the original post. You must not have read the whole thread.
  6. Darvish alone is a 20mil per year pitcher.
  7. We are pissing away our payroll flexibility and giving away a mid rotation starter to do it. We could sign Bauer and Peterson for the same dollars and keep Dunning.
  8. Yep, this is exactly the deal of nightmares.
  9. He also perfectly fits the grinder thing our manager loves to see out of others.
  10. More threads for people to complain about insiders in.
  11. Considering he was already trying to buy a vaccination early on, I kind of doubt it. No other reason to pass on capacity.
  12. Probably because the President was shopping for a better personal deal, so he didn't want to make a big commitment until he found that offer.
  13. I think Lynn is the obvious target with Texas. With the Cubs could we be talking about Darvish? Maybe Bryant? Who else?
  14. Probably because they are more worried about getting profits out of it versus getting it to people, so they were exploring other options.
  15. None of this was actually said anywhere but your imagination, but proceed.
  16. The point is they were never saying that 250>300, they were saying 31.25>30 and that it could have also been potentially worth more than 300 million if those options were hit.
  17. IIRC wasn't the offer like 8/250? So the Sox were claiming that there's was a better offer based on AAV? And maybe some options at the end? Been a while.
  18. I would say it sounds more like a 3/80 or 2/60 type of offer reading between the lines. He already has multiple 4 year offers on the record and is looking for 5.
  19. Isn't this pretty much page 1 of the Boras playbook? There are all kinds of stories of teams bidding against imagined offers, such as the Rangers bidding up the last 70 million on the Arod deal.
  20. Not want to. Those are the ones I think would be the ones I would allow to be in deals. That doesn't mean they all go, just that those are the players I would make available. There are also plenty of players in the 11-30 range who would be available in my world, like a Micker Adolfo who is almost to the out of options stage.
  21. Sadly this probably gives him his best chance at getting in the HOF.
