  1. That Fangio wasn't highest paid assistants out there. You just handwaved away evidence that proved you wrong.
  2. If you are given the upper hand and lose, even with the natural advantages that the Yankees have, that is really bad. If they don't make the playoffs next year, there will be hell to pay.
  3. I will be honest, the one who looks the worst so far is the Yankees if he doesn't sign there. When you have a guy like this who WANTS to sign with you, there should be no way you lose that.
  4. Google has plenty of stories about Vic being highly paid for an assistant. Here is the top one. https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2018/01/08/bears-turn-attention-vic-fangio-after-matt-nagy-hiring/
  5. If they don't land a whale, it is because of JR, not RH or KW. This paycheck is going to come from the top.
  6. I think there was a good post on page 23 somewhere.
  7. If it were agent planted, he'd be pumping up the bids to get teams involved to beat them.
  8. If only Jon Heyman would post something !>!(O#@!@!?>?
  9. Again, all signs point to that this process is getting to be near the end game. I know nothing concrete, but it wouldn't shock me if this was down to NYY and Sox and they were trying to decide between two offers, or even running back to the Yankees to say "can you beat this?"
  10. Let's face it, the Bears defensive personnel is going make a defensive coordinator look really good, even if they might not be. You'd have to be a fool to choose Tampa over the Bears right now.
  11. Throwing numbers out there like this is rough. You never really know what Machado's dollar want is, versus how much he really wants to play for NYY. It could be no amount would keep him from NYC, or he could be holding out for a record number. Honestly I don't even know that Machado knows an exact number or difference that would magically compel him to NYC or the Sox.
  12. Most of it is technical stuff, but when you are trying to sell yourself as an expert, you should probably know those things. At very least if you are going to make references to it, you look it up to verify you are right.
  13. Gives me chills back to the Joe Cowley/ Jay Mariotti days.
  14. I am not even referring to random people. I am amazes at how many bloggers and actual writers make mistakes in these types of things.
  15. Hopefully they have bigger things on their mind at this moment, like Deep Dish or Beef Sammy.
  16. How many twitter followers you have has zero to do with who they know.
  17. That wouldn't surprise me either. A lot of people who write things don't actually understand how the rules work, or pay attention to the changes in them.
  18. I think we are to the stage where the first team to panic, wins. We have gone through the insane expectations, everyone being involved, team meetings, flight tracking, offers are too low, and now we are to the "mystery team" stage. All that is left is one of the teams panicking to make it worth Manny's while and this will be done.
  19. This. Everyone is reading social media for what they want to see, whether it be twitter, Soxtalk, reddit or whatever. When these guys speak, they aren't always speaking as informants but as themselves.
  20. I am going to go on record with a Sept 20 arrival date for Madrigal being extremely optimistic. Forget 2019 all together.
