This is what Hahn has said all along.

Hopefully something more substantive comes out soon so either sides lynch mob can get to work and this pointless 12 hours of hypothetical back and forths can die.

The Cubs have a couple of nice lefty arms, a top notch catcher, and some nice middle infielders in their top 10 prospects, any of whom would be nice adds.

For the record, this was rumor #2 for today.

Put in context together these things all point in the same direction.

If I were offered a top end prospect, Almora, and Shwarber to take on most of Heyward, I would do it happily.

Yet two new White Sox rumors popped up today.

If he wants the Yankees to offer more, the rumor would be that he was signing with someone other than the Yankees to get to offer more. If they are winning there is no reason for them to keep bidding.

He benefits more by keeping teams engaged, not losing them.

Which is why if it were false, MM would have all the reasons in the world to deny. If it is over, it doesn't matter and no need to care.

You use the team you don't want to go to, not the one you want to go to. If the process was still open, this would have been shot down hours ago. It would not be a state secret.

Hopefully it costs them a lot. I said it before, but all of the teams that can really use Harper, the Cubs gain the least marginal gain from him. I would love to see them sink a record contract in to him, as it means the chances they improve the back of the pen like they really need go down.

Why wouldn't it be said? If it was truly fake, at the very least the agent wouldn't want it out there so as there being any chance of bidders moving on to other targets. Also if you really think about it, assuming that the reports of MM wanting to be a Yankee were true, why would he leak a report about him being a Yankee? If anything the leak would be about MM with another team so as to drive up the Yankees bid. He gains nothing by tipping his hand to NYY. And no one of consequence has come out and said it isn't true.

No one has said it isn't true either.

Poorly thought out would be continuing to do something that you find misery in and get nothing out of, and then getting hurt feelings when someone doesn't agree with it.

If you believe all of this, yet continue to give it time/money/support/interest, that tells more about you.

I love that people make posts like this, yet still claim they are fans.

For once, this is actually a fairly reliable and well sourced person. It might still well not work out, but this is the single best sourced person who has spoken on this topic.

You are way too invested in the White Sox continuing failure.

If this is Manny's go to reporter, it really could be this

You must be thrilled with all of the cyberpoints you just accumulated. How do you plan on celebrating this amazing victory on the internet?

LA sports is nothing like NYC and Boston.

I notice you didn't say it was wrong.

Of all places he could have gone, NYC will eat Manny Machado alive. A guy like that can hide in a lot of markets, but you can't hide in NYC.
