  1. Both Burr and Johnson are putting up amazing numbers, but I think it terms of pure stuff I don't think I have seen anyone rank their stuff anywhere near to Hamilton and Burdi. While optimistic, for me there is a clear separation there between the two sets of players. For the Hamilton fan in me, I would love nothing more than to see Hamilton and Burr handing the ball to each other in the Sox pen for the next half decade.
  2. I guess I didn't watch the same Yoan Moncada everyone else did because he was extremely raw when he got here, and I even said that it shouldn't shock anyone if he took the Avi Garcia route versus the Kris Bryant route. And just for clarities sake, if anyone in our system is going to go the Bryant route, it will be Eloy. I firmly believe his adjustment period will be the smallest of all. It wouldn't shock me if he landed on the ground hitting, and never stopped. Also for the record, I believe Kopech will have a difficult adjustment, which is why I would like to see him up here working through it ASAP. He is done with AAA, at least for now. His work needs to be against major league hitters. I will ignore the rest of the listed names here as irrelevant.
  3. Ha, fair enough. I will say that I have a large investment in what the Sox have been able to do with relievers through their system, especially ones with + stuff. Hamilton and a couple of others are checking all of the boxes as a reliever in the very near future.
  4. As was said above, there was a large lack of information on him. No sources (1st or trusted 2nd hand) had seen him in person a few weeks ago when this process started. I am positive that his position will change drastically in the off season just based on what we have already seen from Bryce.
  5. If you are using the standard that 2.0 WAR is league average for a positional starter, he is almost exactly the definition of league average right now as we speak.
  6. It takes a lot to put me into Ron's camp, but here I am firmly #TeamHotFiRe. +1.
  7. With the stories that came to us after the trade, I was definitely worried about his maturity. While the Boston media loves to torch people as they leave town, there were some concerning things to keep in mind. The kid has been a model citizen since he got here, and has done seemingly everything asked of him. Even if he isn't as mature as some would like, he is still a pretty young kid and seems to be progressing. That is OK by me.
  8. And as to this list, I am going to go out on a limb and say that Ian Hamilton is the one who makes the biggest impact on the White Sox roster over the next decade. His stuff is going to turn him into an anchor at the back of our future bullpen. I will also say it is great to see some of the International players start to make some noise in a very deep White Sox system. Micker is obviously a top 15 selection, and Sosa is in the top 30, with Mieses making the just missed list. Plus they are getting important years from guys like Carlos Perez, Camilo Quintero (a darkhorse favorite of mine), Harvin Mendoza, Nunez, Beltre, and others.
  9. There has been no better organization at keeping pitchers healthy and growing people into starters from a low innings total. The Sox don't really pick a hard number as much as the monitor the stuff of the pitchers. If they hit an innings total and are still fine they let them keep going, if the stuff or mechanics starts to suffer, that's when they typically skip a start.
  10. Yeah, I have no idea what the deal is. In general Steve Stone has become a crusty old man, which was a large part of why he couldn't work with Hawk, and why Jason sounds much better on broadcasts without Stone. It could be that, or it could be some other peeve that Stone has, or it could be nothing. Who knows. Even if Stone has an issue, he should either be a professional and explain it, or act like a professional and not make it obvious that he has a problem.
  11. The same Steve Stone who was on the cover of Playgirl? That had better not be why he has an attitude towards Kopech.
  12. I think this list would look different for Bush if this process had started today instead of a few weeks ago.
  13. In a season where it has happened over 50 times for the 1st time in baseball history? Yes, it is news.
  14. This is such an odd thing to be worked up about it.
