  1. First 1/2/3 inning of the game for Q.
  2. Abreu gets a gift RBI to start the year.
  3. Woof. Nice work by the Detroit defense there.
  4. An interesting release to start the season... Matt Eddy‏ @MattEddyBA 51m51 minutes ago #Athletics release 25-year-old 1B Rangel Ravelo, part of return from #WhiteSox for Jeff Samardzija. Hit .262/.334/.395 at Triple-A Nashville
  5. Saladino with the 2.000 OPS.
  6. Nice first AB for May. Saw 9 pitches, but Verlander out guessed him on the curve to finish it.
  7. Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien Last year, Jose Quintana didn't give up his second home run until May 30th. #WhiteSox
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 01:58 PM) At least they haven't extended him. If he's bad, just say thanks and bye Supposedly they haven't even talked about it this year.
  9. QUOTE (Moncada @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 01:51 PM) Not really he is just nibbling at the corners with his one and only pitch and just missing And he seems to be working really slowly too.
  10. Mahtook did bobble, and they went to the cutoff man on the other side of the field.
  11. MLB Trade Rumors‏ @mlbtraderumors 4m4 minutes ago #Cowboys QB Tony Romo is retiring from the NFL and taking a job with CBS. For more, follow @pfrumors on Twitter.
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) Pitcher: Bernardo Flores Hitter: Carlos Perez It would be really nice to see a Perez breakout, both for a Latin program, and for our catching depth.
  13. Abreu tried half assing that into an error on the Q throw over to first.
  14. The NBC sports feed also works through their website if you have a cable/satellite log in. I have comcast, and they ask for your comcast log in to verify through comcast, but I am currently watch the Sox at work.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 12:48 PM) When is our private workout with him? The end of last week the workout was supposed to be "next week" (meaning this week) No word on where or exactly when that I have seen as of yet. Again, keep an eye on Kenny Williams here.
  16. QUOTE (Soha @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) Signing Luis Robert to me could take some pressure off needing a high pick, because I'd view him as basically a free top 5 pick in the draft. And what I'm really getting at is - I think to be a perennial World Series contender, you need some stars. So often stars are picked right at the very top of the draft. And speaking of that 2015 draft, which was just a year and a half ago - wouldn't it be nice if we had any of Swanson, Bregman, Tucker or Benintendi? As nice a prospect as Carson Fulmer is, who wouldn't give their right arm to trade him for one of those 4 guys? I guess it's a difference of philosophy - quantity or quality? Or maybe a mix of the two. We could get guys like that PLUS a guy like Carson Fulmer if we have assets worth trading.
  17. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) I think the problem is we can't be sure that even without Q we're bad enough to get the #1 pick. I would much rather get more high level prospects in exchange for a lower draft slot. I think we do much better in picking say 10th with 75 wins, but getting some decent value for the veterans versus winning 55/60 games, and getting nothing for guys like Frazier/Cabrera/Garcia/Robertson etc while getting the #1 pick. In the first scenario we are able to add many players to our farm system. It becomes deeper, richer and more diverse, versus adding a minimal amount in trades, but moving up the draft boards.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 12:30 PM) I'm sure Ovechkin will go, but I don't know how many will join him. You have to be in good standing with your club, because I'd assume it could void your contract. Or if you got hurt, your team's insurance may not cover it at all. It will be interesting to see how many players flee for a place like the KHL where they will probably be allowed to play for their home country (Russia or the old satellites in most cases)
  19. QUOTE (Soha @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 12:21 PM) Another way to look at it is. If the Sox had lost 2 or 3 more games in 2014, they draft Benintendi instead of Fulmer. Of course, you could then say that shows these guys can be had outside the top 2 or 3..... Either way, I'm rooting for Quintana to have a Cy Young caliber year, while the team still manages to crack the top 3 or 4 of the draft. That's a hard sell on Quintana though. Losing at that high of rate would wear down most normal players. The difference is that you get to upgrade one player, versus bringing in a whole package of players. For example if Q bombs this year, and directly contributes to our 2017 level of suck, maybe we can move up from say the #5 pick to the #1 pick. Or we could get a huge package of players for Q in addition to getting the #5 pick in the draft.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) Actually, going to change my pitcher to Blake Hickman, just because I like him and want him to get his career back on track. This is a name I was thinking of too. Great call. The big thing I would like to see happen this year is Hickman, Fisher, and Adolfo all stay healthy and get a full year of development. In addition to Alec Hansen, these are the guy you could see explode up the top 10 lists this year.
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 08:01 AM) Hitter: Jameson Fisher Pitcher: Bernardo Flores AAAA Bonus: Nicky Delmonico Fisher really needs to figure out a way to stay healthy.
  22. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 09:30 AM) You guys do a fantastic job and are a huge asset for Sox fans Let me know if there is anything I can ever do to assist FutureSox Click and read the articles, share them and encourage others to do so.
  23. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 06:46 PM) 2nd best. I'd like to see him uncensored. I have always said I would pay good money to go to a private lunch with Hawk to hear all of the stories he can't tell on the air. I'd pay more if AJ were there.
  24. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) Depends on your platform, but the NBC sports app is the key in. This. If you have a cable/sat account that has CSN on it, you can download the NBC sports app, and then they will ask for your cable/sat account log in information to confirm that you have it, then you can stream the game on your phone/tablet.
