Jay Cutler is considering retirement.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 01:09 PM) Sources tell @RoyceYoung and me that the Thunder have explored the prospect of a trade in which they acquire both D. McDermott and T. Gibson — Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) February 23, 2017 Ok, now that might lead to something. Payne? Knowing the Bulls they will get Mitch McGary and a second round pick and call it a victory.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) And I guess you missed last year's playoffs when George put it on the Raptors to the tune of 27/7.6/4.3/2.0 and nearly 3 3-point makes per game. Butler's playoff stats last year? Oh that's right. He wasn't there. Butler is a stud. You don't have to minimize George to make him look better. And George is signed through next season btw. I don't know why you keep bringing up his FA as if he's a FA this summer. This is a terrible argument for George vs Butler.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:23 AM) Who would Boston prefer to acquire if they had their choice of Butler or George? I don't really know who'd fit their team better. Butler is one of the ultimate defenders in basketball. He will take that team to another level on the D end of the floor.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:17 AM) Sounds like Boston is all in for Butler or George. Picks and assets available. It's now on the Bulls I don't know what Indy's position is, but I see zero chance of Jimmy in green after today.

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 10:32 AM) The Cubs and Maddux are a good comp for the Sox and Sale. Would the Cubs have retired Maddux's number if he hadn't come back at the end of his career? If Chris Sale becomes a first ballot hall of famer, then I think the idea of his number being retired is worth revisiting.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 10:20 AM) His stats were nowhere as good as Sale, so no. The Cy Young he has is nice but Sale arguably should've won the award in 2014 and 2016 as well. McDowell was definitely a great pitcher for the Sox, but Sale is in a different tier IMO. Some things are about more than stats. Mark Buehrle is absolutely a guy you retire a jersey for. In addition to what he did on the field, he was the consummate teammate, he was the face of the organization off of the field, and he never gave anyone a minute of problems.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 08:14 AM) The conference did change a bit 3 years ago but in their last 150 conference games in the Big East, DePaul is 21-129. I wonder if their new arena will do anything for them. Is there any school around that gets less talent from an area with so much of a talent base? How can they never convince anyone to stay in Chicago?

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 11:43 PM) Throw away reaction, no value add here. Shocker. Meanwhile, we have crocodile tears coming from the owner who has presided over 36 years of ownership in which his team has scarce made the postseason but five times, not once in the past eight years, and one that's on its way to extending that period to a full decade, in this the period of two Wild Card teams. Real funny, SS2K5, eh? Do you find that funny, SS2K5? The fact our fan base, the one you routinely enjoy denigrating, will go a full decade without seeing their team participate in the postseason? Is this a HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA moment for you, too? Do you find it funny when the folks who put the team we passionately follow remain in their positions of influence? Is the Sox situation really just a joke to you, not to be taken seriously? No, I don't take it nearly as seriously as you do. I can't imagine putting this much energy into being bitter and angry for decades over a sports team. What a complete waste of time and things you could actually be doing with your life. Yes, I find it hilarious that you are trying to convince people otherwise. Honestly it borders on restraining order level.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 09:14 PM) The exhibition season hasn't even started yet and they have already had two guys go down. Mark And it is all downhill from here. Wait until some of the guys that are going to save us start failing.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 11:25 PM) No hatred or obsession involved. Just a fact-based reaction to a ridiculous fluff piece of the blight who owns and leads the team we cherish and follow. Many people on this fan site focus their frustration on the team's futility over and over again on the manager (e.g., Ventura). Some comment incessantly on the former GM and current SVP - Baseball Operatons (KW). Looking back, there were many who went on a crusade here against a hitting coach of all things (Fire Greg Walker) to express their frustration on the team's results. The frequency of those types of reactions to management far outweigh my or any of the other well-articulated criticisms to Reinsdorf on this site, so I think your criticism is a bit exaggerated. My opinion as a fan as to who put our team in the position it is today having to pivot and react to the pattern of futility for over a decade lands squarely at Reinsdorf's feet, pure and simple. The guy who has allowed the continued failure we've witnessed but who refuses to replace the folks (Williams & Hahn) who put the team & franchise we love and cherish in the position it's in today. That's a fair and objective assessment, in my opinion, based on facts and recent team results, and one that has no connection to anything as ridiculous as your assertion about the owner and my woman. That suggestion was a bit much, which I hope you realize upon further reflection. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

QUOTE (brett05 @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 02:05 PM) If you are scared of the fringe than you have bigger issues. Kinda like being scared that terrorists are hiding in the Syrian refugees waiting for the chance to come here and blow us up? That fringe?
