Frazier Trade Discussion
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) What? There is quite literally a zero chance that the White Sox take on all of Pablo Sandoval's salary.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (GermanSock @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 12:10 PM) Actually the hold up on winters was that he is bad defensively and did not hit well enough for a bat first catcher. Not to mention a brutal last three years on the injury front.

Frazier Trade Discussion
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 12:08 PM) Not even if the White Sox took on Sandoval's entire salary? Why dabble in things that have no bearing on reality?

Frazier Trade Discussion
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 11:16 AM) Obviously. But yea, Moncada was their top prospect. They didn't wanna give the sox another infielder (3B at that) to completely gut their options in the future. And to go a step further, I see zero chance that Devers is on the table for Frazier, unless Frazier just goes nuts to start the season.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 11:13 AM) It never hurts to have depth an options at catcher Severino seems to have the floor of a glove first mlb backup, with the ceiling to be a regular if the hitting develops Even if Collins sticks at catcher, we will need backup options. Nobody catches every game anymore. Even if Collins can stick at Catcher, he is probably two or three years away. It doesn't hurt to have someone behind the plate who can help our young pitchers instead of hurting them, and maybe stunting their development.

Spring Training notes thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 11:15 AM) Yup, one of the reasons him getting booed at Soxfest a few years back really bothered me. He's bad though, like real bad. I can't boo guys like Avi. It is one thing for a guy to just not be good at baseball, but it is quite another for them to be lazy, a bad teammate, a horrible person, etc. Save the ire for those kinds of guys.

Frazier Trade Discussion
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) They didn't want to include him for Chris Sale and he's a 3rd baseman. There's not a chance we can get him for Todd freaking Frazier. To be clear, they didn't want to include Devers after including Moncada AND Kopech. I am sure if the Sox had asked for him as a headliner for Sale, they would have had him.

Spring Training notes thread
QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:47 AM) All usual BS ST fluff stories aside Avi Garcia looks much better than he has in the past. I saw two pictures of him and he looks great. Someone told me if he sucks or doesn't make the team it's not for lack of effort. I think he sucks and the Sox should have cut ties last year but he does seem to have a lot of fans in the org. The guy works. Gotta respect him for that. I don't think his work ethic was ever in question for me after the way he busted his ass to get back from the shoulder injury. But I also get being skeptical about his emerging into a real every day player.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:43 AM) I'm sure Severinos defense is advertised, but, I'm kinda questioning why we are falling over ourselves to get a likely backup catcher. I doubt he would be the headliner, or at least I would hope not. If he was, I'd hope they would just hold on to Robertson til the deadline.

2017 International Signings
QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:51 AM) It's pretty clear the Sox are much more inclined to get three or four notable guys as opposed to one big fish and maybe another guy or two that are notable. I am not sure it's the worst plan but the results aren't that promising. We are just now starting to get to the point where we can grade these players at a minimum standard. The first group is starting to get into High A ball. The largest chunk of them is pretty much in rookie ball or the DSL itself.

2017 International Signings
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) They'll spend the full $4.75 million. During a rebuild, hell during any season, there's no excuse to not acquire more $ and spend the full $8 million. If the players are already gone in deals that were already agreed on before the new rules giving the Sox the extra $2 million went into existance, there isn't any real way to spend it, unless something happens in Cuba to suck up those dollars. By the time December rolls around the deals for the next year are long since done for the top players.

2016-2017 NBA Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 08:44 AM) i understand people wanting to trade Jimmy for picks, but I just dont want that. This front office doesnt deserve it, i dont want to see them f*** all of this up. I would rather they sit on their hands and the team crash spectacularly into the ground and miss the playoffs again, with a 1/4 filled UC with booing fans at the end of the season. I dont want Garpax "fixing" this team. I dont want them settling for a s***ty deal with Boston where they dont get that Nets pick, i dont want them making any high picks in the draft, i dont want them doing anything anymore. f*** them. Totally. I'd rather continue doing what they have been doing rather than giving this group the keys to a rebuild.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 10:59 PM) Do you seriously think I'm getting paid to go to the dozen or so rallies I've attended? Like, seriously? Not to validate what the blind followers are saying here, but I would make a distinction here. I think there is a lot of organic anger that had led to an ease of organization of events like this. I do fully believe that the organization and planning of these events isn't random and that there is a paid work being done at the top levels to keep people angry and engaged through the elections.
