  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) I think Sands thought that ball was going to the screen. The umpire blocked the ball at the plate though. It hit Lawrie.
  2. Sands has got to make that break way sooner, but I will take the run.
  3. Nice AB for Sands to draw the BB.
  4. Almost threw that one away too. Nice stop by the C.
  5. Holland is trying to jam him to the left side.
  6. Come Jerry, just some solid contact.
  7. Cabrera didn't get a good read on that one, or he could have scored.
  8. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) I believe intent has to be called on the field. That is what I was thinking, I am not sure that part is even able to be reviewed. I believe that would fall under the category of judgement call.
  9. Can a call be overrule based on someone pushing a hand off of a base, if it isn't called on the field?
  10. Sox now by themselves in first place see their Fangraphs odds at 42.7%, which is their highest of the season so far there. At BP they are 61.5%.
  11. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 10:07 AM) Nice to see some introspection going on here, because these two sentiments absolutely apply to you. Even in a best case scenario to start the season, here you are concentrating on the worst. And attacking people by name for having an opinion other than yours. But that is how these posts usually go. As soon as someone answers back to a post of yours or following your agenda, you go after them personally. I sure didn't mention you, yet here you are. Again. I can't count how many times you have done exactly this. But keep playing the victim card every time.
  12. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 10:02 AM) You gotta love a board admin who constantly, each and every day, tries to derail and deflect constructive conversations around the ball players and team and turn those discussions into these kind of personal attacks and insults. Every single day this goes on. And the irony is that not one fan, in this case the ones discussing the problem that is Avi Garcia at the moment, not one of those fans comes off even remotely negative or miserable. The only time Misery rears it's ugly head is when SS2K5 and DA chime in and begin with the attacks and insults. It is only at those points in the discussion when the whole thing begins to go negative. Its sad that people can't handle an opinion other than their own. It is also sad that people can't enjoy good baseball.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 09:59 AM) Should be interesting to see if Garcia is on the plane to Toronto. Heard Steverson yesterday, and he certainly sounded like he wouldn't mind Avi off the roster for a while. I know everyone wants it now, but it is happening slowly but surely. Sands is basically splitting time with him at this point. If he keeps hitting, he will have most of the playing time here pretty quickly.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) Eaton, Saladino, Abreu, Frazier, Cabrera, Lawrie, Sands, Navarro, Jackson After basically not playing at all for the first week, this is Sands 4th start in the last 8 games.
  15. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 10:17 PM) With a lunatic like Trump in the election, Gary Johnson could get 5-10%. Personally, I might go that way only because my vote as a "Texas liberal" doesn't matter, because red state. In the general election, I am almost certainly voting Libertarian.
  16. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 01:47 AM) They do kind of have a point. There's a ridiculous amount of complaining and moaning on this board for a 12-6 team. The game threads are pretty much unreadable. Exactly. Misery.
  17. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 09:13 AM) If Avila is out for some time and Smith doesn't work out, I can't help but wonder if the White Sox will try to acquire AJ from the Braves. We are talking about a slighty pulled hamstring. If Avila wasn't a catcher, they might not even be calling someone up to cover his roster spot.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) No prevent defense Their best prevent defense is to push the offense.
  19. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) To those of you who decry; "stop complaining. this team is 12 and 6": I'm quite confident that the front office is working very hard, trying to "improve" this team. Does anyone think that Hahn is sitting back, with his feet up on his desk, celebrating this start, and patting himself on the back, with complete confidence that his job is finished, and that he has successfully put together a roster, which will go deep into the Post Season? Trust me, he isn't and well he should not be. The big difference is that Rick Hahn is being paid to improve the team. He is supposed to be stressed out about doing something. None of us fall into that category. But hey, don't let me stop the Misery crowd from hobbling themselves as the Sox biggest fans.
  20. That was the best period the Hawks have had of the playoffs so far. They need to close now.
  21. The Sox win again, so naturally we are talking about Avi.
  22. And for the record, in addition to the 11 hits, the Sox got 7 BB's, 2 HBP's for a total of 20 base runners.
