State of the farm system
Well I fully agree with the idea that none of this makes sense, hence my perplexed replies to your absurdities. But bonus points for the school yard level taunt.
-
State of the farm system
At least you are dropping the idea that the previous regime was actively refusing all of this, even after the absurdity that an "entry level" employee was somehow qualified to run an entire baseball organization better than experienced people because he apparently asked for stuff, but only after nine years.

State of the farm system
So Chris Getz is now a lower entry level hire... yet fully qualified to run an entire baseball franchise, complete with the knowledge of everything that needs to be done. WTAF.

State of the farm system
Apparently he is a fraction of the player development guy that Kenny Williams was by your own definition, because he was able to churn guys out with even less resources. But sure, I am going to believe that some "resources" were the problem, somehow the person responsible for approving resources hasn't changed, but now that problem is all better because Chris asked, and somehow Kenny and Rick were refusing any extra resources for some weird reason that has never been stated or outlined. But again, this isn't far fetched.

Or maybe the guy who ran player development, and had pretty much no talent develop while he was doing the job... hold on, this gets really complicated... wasn't actually good at player development? Whoa, right? But no, I am sure they literally picked the wrong guy in every single international signing, draft pick, and MiLB trade.

So the VP in charge was telling Jerry that he didn't need resources, and I am the one who is believing far fetched things. Got it.
-
State of the farm system
And if the implication is that Jerry did nothing for Getz in these areas before, are we supposed to believe that all of this magically changed just because Chris nicely asked him? GMAB.

Bro, we KNOW that this is a lame act. Spare me the I swear on my mommy crap.

State of the farm system
Good lord. Do you even believe this? All of the draft picks they had and listed top prospects and trade acquisitions are disqualified here? Let me guess, they all had bad attitudes, right? Good lord.

State of the farm system
All of the failure? Not even remotely. He's the only one who knew what he was doing even though his department was a massive and complete failure? lol-worthy.

And Cub fans enjoy seeing the Sox lose 121 games with no path to respectability.

State of the farm system
It's absolutely normal to fire people who massively fail at their jobs, which is why it is so absurd to deal with the idea that in the midst of this dumpster fire that Chris Getz was actually promoted, and now has every excuse on the planet being made for him as to why everyone else was the problem, except him.

State of the farm system
When you read what is being said here, it absolutely is, even though the people apparently above and below him are the problems, but somehow he isn't. Getz is just as much of the problem as a Marco Paddy is. If Getz didn't get anywhere because he didn't have enough control, why doesn't that excuse work for Paddy who was working under the same structure? Or the scouts who had their work over ruled above them supposedly? If Chris not being able to fire people before is the problem, why are we assuming that even though we just watched Jerry refuse to fire people until their contracts were pretty much done, that Chris will be able to realize that he needs to fire other people later to fix other problems? The ridiculous amount of weight being put into we have this all figured out and all of those old problems are gone without any actual indication to show that they are ACTUALLY gone now is absurd. You can choose to believe whatever you are fed, but until there are actually results that show differently, I am going to believe this franchise's history, over some selective printing of only the happy things.

State of the farm system
I can't just buy that conveniently he was the only one in this organization who knew what he was doing, couldn't do anything to fix it, but now can fix everything without any issue. That's ridiculously pollyanna.

It's the pic for me.

Uh, what? What is this dumpster fire?
-
State of the farm system
It also completely ignores that Getz WAS the leader of that development staff that failed. It's the spiderman meme in real life.
-
Crochet Traded to Boston
Considering he hasn't played due to a season ending injury, I feel like I would be the same.

If we get a Kris Byrant out of this deal, it was an all time great.

The 'no-trade' white sox scenario
Laptop? Can we get him to throw out the abacus?

State of the farm system
Player Development was quite literally Chris Getz's job.

Again, this team has to make up 40 games with Luis Robert on the roster just to get back to .500. They need to gain 45 to 50 games to get back to the playoffs. Is there any logic that sees Jerry swinging the resources necessary to pick up 40 to 50 games in the three years, all while paying Luis Robert too? We already know they are cutting for this year, so forget that one. We are now down to two years left. To me logic dictates working on the most probable path back to decency, thinking this mess can be fixed in three years doesn't seem logical.

Eder as any kind of a usable pitcher would be nice.

State of the farm system
I see 121 losses last year with Luis Robert on the roster.

The odds of that are barely above 0.
