  1. There should be nobody on this team more infuriated than Korey Lee. He has had a very good season and is giving up playing to to the worst player in baseball.
  2. He and Sosa have both been better this time around, which means they will be getting dumped momentarily.
  3. If you have the worst collection of pitching talent in the league is it really shocking that they were the 2nd worst in the league? We spent an entire winter talking about how awful they were going to be, and they are who we thought they were. Of all people needing fired, Katz might be last, or damned near it.
  4. In just pure pitching odds, someone is going to fail hard with this much young pitching. The crazy thing is he could turn it around tomorrow or next year and it wouldn't be weird. It's just pitching
  5. Eloy and Moncada are gone as soon as Jerry can buy them out. Robert is big game hunting with Boras for a few hundred million. Crochet has waited to extend this long, not sure why that would change unless the Sox get well into 9 figures. Vaughn is closer to a non-tender than an extension at this point. Lee? Maybe you could extend him, but he doesn't sound like a happy camper right now
  6. I think their pick has more to do with who is willing to give up cap space to get more overages later vs who we trade for
  7. I do feel good about the pitching. It would be nice to add another ace potential kind of guy, but I feel like we are doing pretty well there. The offense? Yeah that's the train at the end of the tunnel right now.
  8. These are the little thing Getz did so well to tale a 101 loss team and make it 20 games worse. No one move alone does this, but add em up and here we are.
  9. The latest has the Dox with Cags with both HS kids and Hagen Smith still on the board. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-pipeline-2024-mock-draft-june-13?t=mlb-draft-coverage
  10. And there is the name calling. Again.
  11. This year just keeps getting better
  12. The guys who average 40 to 50% of their seasons hurt, all get hurt, including ones with injuries you say are predictable, and yet no one could have seen it coming when deciding how bad this team would be. Makes sense.
  13. Weren't you just the one trying to say his injury was one of the reasons the were so historically bad?
  14. Looking at the actual guys on this pitching staff and their histories, I am not convinced there is much more to get out of them. By and large this is an awful bullpen, pitching pretty awful. The young guys have show young guy ups and downs. The reclamation projects have seen a couple of successes, and more failures, as is to be expected. Crochet and Fedde have been huge pluses.
  15. But no one could have planned for his being injured.
  16. As I have seen it so far the Sox traded a limited ceiling SP for a limited ceiling OF. I wasn't opposed to it because of who we gave up, but I sure haven't been impressed with who we got, and the team already seems to not be believing in Fletcher as well. That's not a good sign for any improvements in scouting which is what I am more worried about.
  17. Yeah, I hate to tell you this, but they have them now, and we are setting all time worst records with them.
  18. The front end of that prediction means we got front end prospects who are older and basically ready for the majors. If the top talent is younger, then keep adding to those seasons. It also means that we hit on a high percentage of them, and they had very high ceilings that they got to, especially in the position player group, because those do not exist in our system as of today. It means we need a Chris Sale type package for those two guys AND they need to actually pan out this time. It means that Fedde has to draw at least one guy who turns into a good every day starter, and maybe more. Thankfully all of the people responsible for our former minor league development have been sent packing...
  19. Ok those numbers don't make sense to me. He has a near major league average exit velocity against all of these pitches, yet has awful BABIP and even worse batting averages, but hard hit percentages near 40%. It looks like he is above MLB average of around 35% there. Can you explain the discrepancies?
