  1. QUOTE (Sockin @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 08:27 PM) Rosenthal says a deal still could happen and might even be close. Pierzynski has been persuading Damon to sign with the Sox. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/johnny-...hite-sox-021610 Well lets hope that AJ is more convincing that Borass.

There is no way Sawyer leaves the island.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) We need to cut ties with Tyrus, it speaks volumes that a rookie can come in and outplay him like Gibson has. Hell I'd rather have Richard.

I can't feel sorry for the subsidized business traveler. They should be forced to share their perks with the less fortunate travelers.
  7. 2-0 Backes with a nice move to beat Hiller.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) I think we should just all forget it. I'm not convinced. There is way too much chatter for this to be done.
  9. Chris Richard got his second 10 day contract from the Bulls.
  10. Ryan gets a goal with about a minute to go in the first 1-0 USA after one.

  13. Damn, someone forgot to tell the Swiss that there isn't physical hockey in the Olympics...
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) If it means replacing Farmer, I'm all for it. I seriously doubt it would mean new announcers. If anything they would need to keep the existing guys to give the new station some credibility.
  15. If it means more money for the Sox, I am for it.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) The Bulls priorities are the off-season though. It is the first priority for sure, but nothing would be a bigger disaster than dumping a bunch of players, having a terrible second half, and then having a repeat of the 2000 off season, where everyone viewed the Bulls as a joke and signed with different teams. Then to top it off, the if the Bulls picked two guys from the third tier of players and tried to sell it like they did something good, we could punt on the second decade of the 21st century as well.
  17. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) I will f***ing lose it if the Bulls don't make a trade by the deadline. If we are getting any sort of picks and expiring contracts for Thomas by god hit the accept button Pax and Gar. LeBron won't go anywhere people, I don't see him going away from his hometown to play somewhere else so stop the speculation. On top of that following up MJs legacy is not something LJ will want to do imo. If nothing else happens, Tyrus will be dumped. I can't see anything less than Thomas and at least one of Salmons or Hinrich being traded.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) If the Bulls could clear Salmons, Tyrus, and Deng's salaries and put themselves into a position to legitimately make a run at more than 1 top FA, and they didn't do it because they were wanting to get themselves into the 8th slot this year to lose to the Cavs in the opening round...well, I think that'd be pitchforks and torches time. The best way to convince players to come here is for stars to think they can win here. Otherwise we are the Clippers. Its also kinda misleading to say that they are eighth, because they also sit exactly one game out of sixth, and three point five games out of fifth. If they manage things right and dump salaries, plus somehow get into the second round it will do a lot more to convince players to come here than to go 10-30 in the second half because they traded off the entire team.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) I don't think so. The Bulls are going to make a few trades. No doubt. I imagine that this point they are weighing offers to see what works best.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Deng, Tyrus Thomas, and John Salmons for McGrady would work. I don't know if the Rockets have interest in that offer, but it would do wonders for the Bulls and if you got a 3rd team involved (for example, a team that wanted Tyrus Thomas), you could see the Rockets receive some draft picks and other stuff. The big issue is that I highly doubt the Rockets have any interest in Deng (since they have Battier and Ariza on the wing). Albeit, Deng is a superior all around player to both. That would decimate the Bulls chances to do anything this year. Most of the other deals that are being talked about bring back as many players as we would get, and would give us players that would probably not be hurt in a week.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) If we have the same Rios next year that we had in the 2nd half of last year, we're not winning this division. Rios is not going to hit sub .200 this year.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) Which is why he hasn't moved. The Bulls would only move Deng if that sort of offer was on the table and I believe the only deal they could possibly do that allows that to happen would be a McGrady deal, but I find that very unlikely. Otherwise, Deng will stay here this off-season until the Bulls are able to sign a FA (or two) and at that point the team will decide whether Deng fits the current lineup or if they would be better served dealing him for another guy whose signed long-term but is a better positional fit (Al Jefferson is an option). Or he would be part of a sign and trade for a Rudy Gay, etc. I think the Bulls pay Deng a lot less than McGrady is paid, so we would still have to move salaries into there, which would really take players off of the court for the Bulls.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 10:54 AM) So, there was one other person who had been trying to get on the Indiana Senate Primary ballot against Bayh, Tamyra d'Ipppolito, a cafe owner from Bloomington. As of yesterday it seemed like she had about 23 twitter followers and had raised $60 on ActBlue. And she's a former Lehman Bros. employee. Yesterday she was a few thousand signatures short of the needed number, but today it appears that, unless she's received some questionable assistance in getting those remaining signatures, she'll qualify for the primary ballot. That would mean the only way that she would not be the nominee is if the Indiana Democrats could mount a successful write-in campaign against her in the primary. This is the worst case scenario for the Dems. At least if she fell short, the party could pick someone.
