  1. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) They're my own rough rankings. Just kind of off the top of my head. Excellent. Great work as always
  2. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) They even edited a poster's post of an e-mail from his ticket rep. To each his own...
  3. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 12:55 PM) http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbullet...amp;postcount=1 No quoting from ANY article. Wild. I would have never guessed that.
  4. I am not sure if you are addressing me or Jenks, but I am 100% WITH Obama on this one. It was complete bush league to steal the letter and print it.
  5. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 05:43 PM) I was just letting you guys know that the Atlanta brass was at the Barons game. Seemed strange to me. Don't let a few nitpickers ruin it for you. 99% of people enjoy the information and can apply it FWIW. Thanks!
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) Except that he's not doing it in a private manner. It'd be different if he gave confession and his confessions were made public. The him and his God point doesn't make any sense when (1) the place is in public and (2) there's 10,000 media people present. Again, I'm not saying its right, but it should have been expected. He didn't make a public confession, or anything of the like. He didn't stand up in front of a microphone and read his letter. More accurately would be me following you into the confessional, recording everything that was said, and then selling it to the highest bidder. Everyone can see you walk into the confessional, so by your definition it is public and should be out there for everyone to hear.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:36 AM) But what is the foreign policy experience that McCain has? Can you define it for me? I am not going to do anymore of your homework for you, especially because it doesn't matter what I would post. It isn't going to change your mind at all.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:37 AM) I've got money stashed away elsewhere, but it'd really put my gf in a bind to make her car/ student loan/ mortgage payments if her money were unavailable for several weeks. Do you have a good source for banks that aren't being bent over by the subprime crisis? I'd hate to open another account and have that bank be on shaky ground a month later. I am moving to a local bank or local credit union. They sell off most of their loans anyway.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) Just because you could dig up some articles supporting your claim doesn't mean the entire MSM narrative hasn't been that McCain is a foreign policy expert. You almost never see the MSM claim otherwise. It means none of them have been challenged. They have both gotten a free pass. By all means a person who has no experience in an area should be getting more questions than someone who has it, correct?
  10. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:29 AM) Did you use this screen name? When I'm lurking I always change mine. Which can be fun. I remember someone here who always disagreed with me, who agreed with me there. My post was almost word for word the same. Yup. I wanted them to know who I was to thank everyone for attending the softball game. I wasn't even trying to hide.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) My girlfriend and I both have our main accounts there (not a ton of money, we're both in our early 20's). What's the procedure if a bank does go under? How long does it take to get the FDIC money? That is my biggest fear. I really don't want to go through all of the red-tape and having my money tied up.
  12. I find it more akin to blaming a girl for how she dressed or how much she had to drink after she is raped. I don't care if Obama had any motivations or not, this was a disgusting invasion of privacy. No one should have touched his note, let alone published it. That is between him and God.

  14. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:21 AM) He is their 4th best reliever there really isn't that much pressure on him. There is ALWAYS pressure in NY.
  15. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:22 AM) Ah, the old join so we can wack you game And I get the reputation for being a hardass. I am a AAAA admin compared to those guys.
  16. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 08:57 AM) Do you think they figured out it is you? The funny part is they told me to join after the softball game. Oh well.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 08:51 AM) My commentary on my last post: For everyone that is sick of the media fawning over Obama I am equally sick of the media anointing McCain as some sort of foreign policy expert. What exactly has he done or said that makes him an expert in foreign policy? I'm starting to think that since he's 72 and been in Washington forever that everyone just assumes he must be an expert. He has been less than impressive, to say the least, with regards to foreign policy during this campaign. From the numerous gaffes regarding Sunnis and Shiites to Czechoslovakia references to the Iraq/Pakistan border reference it's obvious he's getting a free pass on foreign policy. Seriously McCain has gotten a free pass? That is rich. Obama dispite his complete lack of anything forgein policy has gotten off scott-free. Did we hear about this? http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=70454 OR THIS http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=5433416 OR THIS http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/pos...WExZTI5OTc3YmY= OR THIS http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/pos...GRkM2I1MTU0ODc= OR THIS http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...8060503510.html

  19. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 08:49 AM) Why? That's the best part, I have no idea why. I posted the same article about national city failing and then the next time I went back to click something I got the message with a generic message directing me towards TOS. Man the answer to the national debt is WSI. They are so tight, just insert some coal and they will have diamonds coming out in no time.
  20. I got banned at WSI in my second post. True story.
  21. I have an account there, and we are moving our money out. Call me Chuck Schumer. They have been trying to raise capital, but I am not convinced. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gKqc2HQ...9TYdbAD91TSE580
  22. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 08:03 AM) In and of itself I don't find anything wrong with that, in fact it's necessary. It depends what the attacks are about. When the attacks are ad hominem, or outright lies/falsifications/distortions of the truth/completely irrelevant is when I have a problem with them. So it's ok to say something like "McCain has an inconsistent voting record on issue X" or "Obama voted against the surge." It's not ok to say "McCain has an illegitimate black love child" or "Obama's wife ranted about how she hates white people, I have proof but I don't have it right now but take my word for it." It bothers me when you present yourself as a "new" kind of politician, and then engage in the exact same stuff that you have been demonizing the other party for.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) New York's gonna eat Marte alive. I was just going to post that... The guy never liked being THE MAN, or the spotlight in the big series. He is going to get killed in NY.
  24. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:42 AM) Kerry's downfall was in letting the attacks continue before he went on the offensive. Well that, and he spent too much time convincing people he was the opposite of Bush. Exactly. Obama has had his people on the attack since day one.
  25. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:41 AM) Using words like "slimy" or "dirty" when talking about positions is relative though. Politics is a dirty business by nature. If there's one thing I've learned from following all these primaries, it's that. When talking about the Chicago political machine, I think the results speak for themselves. Maybe Lousiana could give us a run, but in general, I don't think there are many places that are nearly as corrupt as Chicago.
