QUOTE(juddling @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) hadn't really thought about it until now but maybe it's Sawyer. I bet in the next few shows it will show that Kate is REALLY pissed that Sawyer went with Locke and didn't stay with her. So..maybe she held onto that anger and refused to go to his funeral. He also didn't have any family to speak of. Just my 2cents And we all know Sawyer would stick a knife in anyone's back if it meant him getting what he wanted.

I have a crazy speculation for the ending of the show. Could the flash-forwards not necesarily be forward to the end of the show? Could they all get the same feeling about needing to go back to the island, and then the show ends with them finding the island again? Thoughts?
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 01:06 PM) And more polling... New York: Survey USA, 950 LV, 1/30-31 (change from mid-Jan, same poll, in parens) Clinton: 54% (-2) Obama: 38% (+8) UNDECIDED/OTHER: 8% So even in Clinton's home state, that 26 point lead has shrunk to 16. I doubt he has a chance to win NY, but, he may make it less than a blowout. That would be a victory for him. The poll says that Edwards' dropping out gave Obama a big boost. If he can work it in, I'd think a stop into Harlem or the Bronx might give Obama a further boost in NY. How great would it be for Barack to make a campaign appearence right outside of Bill Clinton's office in the Bronx?

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) couldn't hurley be dead??? This flashforward took place before last year's(with Jack's beard etc...) It could be anyone. To me it makes more sense that one of the guys that was stopping everyone from getting off of the island is probably the dead person, because no one went to the funeral. Then again that could just be another curveball, and we could have someone who is trusted now, betray the group, and end up being that hated person.

Don't forget that one of the six is probably dead, as there was the funeral that Jack went to, which no one else did. We are probably talking about Locke or Ben Linus, or someone else who ends up being really hated.
  6. No snowday's for traders either...

How about Jack pulling the trigger on Locke, after Locke said he wouldn't do it? Damn.
  8. QUOTE(rowand's rowdies @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) Ron needs asked for a $5 million dollar boost before February 5th. He is about 4.4 million away. Donate today, February 1st (his 51st anniversary to his wife) to help the cause! He will not be silenced! www.ronpaul2008.com By the way, welcome Fred and Rudy supporters who are joining us! You are certainly smart enough to look at Ron's views and join our cause for freedom! He needs to forget about money and start raising some votes. He is fading into oblivion faster than Bobby Brown.

    QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 10:33 PM) I totally missed that!
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) Keith if Porcello was off the board at that pick sure Poreda is what you get. But he was on the board, and with the absolute sucktatude our minors have been Porcello would of easily been our top prospect, and it would be nice to see a sox prospect at 11. Which means either he has perceived value for trades(see Cabrera) or real value see Verlander. We didnt want to go over slot, and passed on the better talent. Hopefully with the 8th pick this year we dont fall into the same trap. JR will never allow KW to go over draft slot for a bonus, because JR and his bunch of owners want to keep salaries down for draftees. There was never a chance that we would draft a guy overslot. That fact won't change no matter how much we cry about it. Berating the same point doesn't change that.
  11. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) Well I actually don't think Havlat is going to be around next season...speculation purely but from things that have gotten out about him not many people care much for him and now it appears he isn't even trying to play hard. IMO I don't know this, but I would be willing to bet after all of the injuries, it isn't a lack of hustle, but a major fear of getting hurt again.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) The only problem with Hossa is that he's going to get both a lot of money and a lot of years -- he'll almost certainly be looking for what Daniel Briere got (8/$52), and that's a lot of money to have tied up when you're going to have to pay Kane and Toews big bucks during most of those years as well. Tallon would get ripped apart for standing pat, but really, would the following group be so terrible? Kane - Toews - Havlat Sharp - Lang - Skille Ruutu - Kontiola - Williams Bourque - Bolland - Burish Dowell/Eager (Note: This obviously isn't going to happen and at this point, I'm speculating waaay too much and waaay too far into the future -- much more than I care to do.) They have GOT to get healthy first. They have a lot of talent on this team. It would be nice if they had an anchor Dman for special teams, and another scorer, but if they could just keep the guys they have on the ice, that would be worth at least just another 10 points this year. That would put the Hawks in the playoffs as the 7th seed.
  13. Obviously he couldn't succeed her as President, because of that silly thing called the Constitution, but what stops him from serving as VP, and them moving on to the #3 person in line in the event of Hillary's untimely death (god forbid)?
  14. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) Bill Clinton - Allow More than Two Terms as Preisdent Stupid question, could Hillary choose Bill as her VP running mate?
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 02:19 PM) Here's a lotta interesting stuff on McCain's position in relation to having accepted public financing for his campaign and whether or not he can get out of /get around that pledge. Perhaps the most interesting part, McCain pledged to accept public financing for the period after the conventions last year as long as his opponent did. Only 1 Democrat made a similar pledge. Obama. In other words, for fundraising reasons...an Obama candidacy may well hamstring a McCain candidacy a lot more than a Clinton one could. How would both candidates being on a level playing field handicap McCain? Besides, I would much rather seem them out campaigning, versus fundraising.
  16. What a sad effort after the flame job they got from Savvy before the break. It doesn't give me much hope for the rest of the season.

Or Jack could be indulging in more self-pity by referring to his dead dad....

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 10:22 AM) When Jack was drunk at the hospital, he says, "go find my father and see if he's more drunk than me right now", or something along those lines. But it was a flash forward into the future when Jack had a beard, so clearly his father is dead when he says this. Is it a clue to something? That was all part of the "flash forward" which revealed itself with Jack meeting Kate at the airport. His father was dead already.
  19. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Honestly, I only use that phrase among friends. I have a feeling my adviser wouldn't find it nearly as hilarious as I do. . .I'm pretty cool for a linguist. Sad, huh? I am not familiar with the idea of a cool linguist, but I imagine it equates out to tallest midget
  20. The more things change...
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) I'm actually glad we didn't sign hunter. Its hard to say that in retrospect. If we sign Hunter, does that change the Miguel Cabrera trade situation? Does that mean we potentially pump in more prospects to the deal because we aren't still worried about getting another OFer, and needing those players to do it? If we still don't get Cabrera, do we make the Swisher deal at all, and hold onto Sweeney, DLS, and Gio, or do we deal them out for another player, maybe a starting pitcher instead? Getting Torri really completely changes the direction of the off season, and it is hard to put that one signing in a vaccum and isolate it from what would have happened after the fact.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) I don't know if that was the situation or not. All I know is she was 'on the street'. She had her daughter with with her and just may have come from home. Regardless, once she crosses that threshold and is off the clock, and if she's not wearing a uniform or something, she's nothing more than a citizen and every right to ask her elected representative a question about his policies. Maybe it is just because of the industry I work in, but information you gather at work is supposed to be just that. I could get indicted for using information I gather at work to my own benefit. I know that it is not that extreme for others, but even if you just look at the fact that by using that information, they could be impacting her employers bottom line, they have every right in the world to fire her. I know if I was in her shoes, I would have another job in my pocket before I confronted a high ranking politician who was coming out of my place of employment.
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 02:17 PM) She was on the Street! at the theater where she worked!
  24. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) I have a gut feeling he'll endorse Obama unless Hillary ... ummm ... scratches his back. Is there any doubt that both candidates are pretty much going to offer Edwards anything that they can to get him into their fold?
