Forgetfulness
I forget stuff all of the time. I have to be very systematic about the way I do thinks, so that ritual will help me remember what I need.

Who is your favorite player currently on the Sox's MLB level team?
There are a lot of guys that I like on this team. I would have to say Buehrle is my favorite, but you can't not mention guys like Thome, Crede, and Dye.

USA Today editorial cartoon

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) Jabroni over at SouthSideSox posted this link. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...24?OpenDocument Edmonds would have taken over nicely for Erstad.... Geesh. It sounds like Williams pretty much chased every possible CF he could think off this off season.

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) If it could get her elected, she'd grab him in a second. The Constitution keeps the VP in line, I've read a number of references to where the President and Vice President do not meet for months. After eight years of a Clinton in the White House, plus watching their operations in this election cycle leave me zero doubt that there are endless things that the Clinton Machine would do to get elected. We all know the litany of rules the Clinton's broke while in office, and nothing seems to have changed with Hillary at the helm.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 11:38 AM) hmmmm.... Obama canceled his meeting with John Edwards today. Edwards met with Clinton on Thursday. Interesting! I don't know if there could be a president ticket that I would dispise more than that duo.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 11:30 AM) Huckabee press release. As far as what I'm reading out there goes, the guy in charge did some sort of back of the envelope calculation, without bothering to see which districts still needed to be counted, and declared that there was no need to count the last bunch of those votes because McCain had won. And since then he's spent his time avoiding phone calls on the subject and trying to avoid Huckabee's lawyers. At least the Republicans have moved on from trying to make sure votes for Gore weren't counted to making sure only the right kind of Republican votes are counted. Eh? Eh? Eh? Thank you thank you we'll be here all week. Call me when the Super delegates steal the election for Hillary

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) So is it rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? I really hope so. I don't agree with much that Obama has to say, but at least I respect the guy.

Noah Lowry/Matt Cain (for some reason?)
QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 11:43 AM) He would be gone by now if that was the case. If Crede is healthy he is worth MLB talent. I believe he goes for Lowry and then Floyd is traded for Roberts. No. If someone was offering something for him, he would have been gone a long time ago. No one is offering s*** for him, and Kenny has already said he has to deal him ( or send Fields to AAA, which isn't going to happen.)

GOP Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) They showed a graphic on CNN tonight that showed just how unlikely that is. If Huckabee won every single state left (literally, every state) by a 50 percent to 40 percent margin, McCain would still have enough delegates to win the nomination before the convention. So, not only must Huckabee go perfect the rest of the way (and he might not, Lousiana and Washington are neck and neck right now, and he won't get the LA delegates tonight since he doesn't have 50 percent of the vote), but he must win by a lot. It's pretty much impossible, especially since quite a few states left are not republican only primaries. What about Romney's delegates? With the hate of McCain in right wing circles, I could see a backroom deal for Mitt and Huck to team up as the "conservative ticket" and slip the nomination out from under McCain.

Economic Stimulus Check
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) Speaking of that, how is it that Illinois has you list your state tax refund as income the next year? If I get a refund in 2007 for the taxes I paid in 2006, I have to claim it as income for 2007! i already paid taxes on it in 2006, which is why they returned it to me to begin with. How they got that one thru is amazing. Because the total amout of sales or state income taxes you pay is tax deductable. A refund is an adjustment upwards of income in that sense.

Hillary Clinton - Why the hate?
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) Fair enough. I'll even go as far as to say that I watch the candidates I don't like more than the ones I do. I am more interested in what others are saying, and why they are saying it. I think Obama could do a good job, but I am not going to like most of what he does.

Noah Lowry/Matt Cain (for some reason?)
QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 11:03 PM) interesting.. Sabean said that some trade talks have been "ongoing" but would be tabled until later in Spring Training to allow the Giants time for further evaluations. That would seem to fuel the rampant rumors that have linked the Giants to the Chicago White Sox, who are dangling third baseman Joe Crede. Having undergone lower back surgery last year, Crede will require the sort of evaluation Sabean mentioned as he performs in exhibition games. But Sabean pointed out that those evaluations include internal ones. "The bigger dilemma is always who you're going to give up," he said. We keep mentioning all of these big names, I could almost bet money that it is minor leaguers we have never heard of before that we get for Crede.

Hillary Clinton - Why the hate?
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 10:54 AM) I can see how that would be a turnoff. Have you have a chance to look over all of his stances on issues? Perhaps there are some things you could agree with him on? http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ I've watched the guy talk a lot. He's just not a person I want to see elected from a purely selfish standpoint.
