  1. Is that Ron Rivera that used to play for the Bears? Or is it someone else.

Yeah that was the year of the OSU backcourt. I always remembered that year because of SMS, because I knew Alford from where I went to college. A few years before that he led our college to the D3 basketball national championship game, which incidently we lost to Bo Ryan's Wisconson Whitewater team. It was the only time in NCAA history that two undefeated teams met for a basketball championship.

1999 and lost to Duke. that is what I thought I couldn't remember the year anymore. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketbal...ts/classic.html

They did make it to the sweet 16 one year.

Am I the only one who sees a lawsuit when someone asks a cute chick if she wants to make a call on his bone phone?
  6. That deal sounds almost too good to be true. Burrells numbers would explode at hitter friendly Comiskey, plus getting into the AL would help him as well. It would also give us some room to make a late run at a FA if we wanted, if I am calculating correctly.
  7. hmm I work right accross the street from there... But then again I am surfing the internet on the 10th floor, so I would have no idea what is going on.
  8. The Tribune always endorses conservative canditiates all things being equal. They always are much more conservative in their columns than the ST. The ST panders to the Chicago democratic machine so much it is discusting.
  9. So one issue makes a paper conserv or lib? Read deeper.
  10. The antiwall stuff is all you hear on the news and in the papers. I'd be curious how Israel is justifying it statistically.
  11. Are you kidding me? You might be the first person I have ever heard who ever called the Trib "Ultra-Lib". Have you read the Sun Times before? Heck read any of the NYC papers. That's liberal.
  12. There have been minor leaguers at Soxfest every year that I have went. I would try calling the front office and asking them about specific players 312-674-1000. I used to email, but no one ever responds to emails there.
  13. And if you touched anymore than that, please, don't tell us
  14. This is honest advice right now. Find a nationally respected newspaper and read it everyday. Part of the problem with the US's general apathy in the 18-24 crowd is that they have no idea what is going on in the world around them. You live in NY, read the NY Times national and world sections (I have no idea how the paper breaks it sections down, so it could be all together) from beginning to end. It might be boring and dry, but I really believe if the younger generation had any idea what goes on in the world, they would make themselves more a part of the political process. I have read the Tribune daily for most of my life now, and I really think the habit of doing it makes me much more informed than the average 30 year old.

Efollet.com used to be the best one. I haven't looked for books online for years though...
  16. I'd be interested to see the Zionist slant on the fence.
  17. One of the interesting things I haven't heard anyone mention yet is that Bush appealed to professional athletes for ending steroid usage. It was kind of out of place if you ask me, but interesting none the less.
  18. 3....2....1...
  19. This might not happen now. It was reported in today's Trib that Shea's asking price was a lot more than the Bears had expected. Stay tuned on this one.
  20. It would depend on where you were "working" where you recieved your income. If you recieved the money in the US, for "work" in the US, despite recieving it from a foreign source, you should only be paying US taxes on it. I am not positive about his, but I know we have some nerdy CPA's out there who might be able to shine somemore light on this.
  21. If it was the IRS we were talking about, I would be about 95% sure that the answer was yes. The IRS got Capone on his illegal money, when the feds couldn't put a case together against him. The IRS is how most mobbsters get taken down. So I would imagine that bribes would fall under the same category (yeah I know you were probably kidding, but hey)
  22. If I had a ladder....
