Burkett only looks reasonable because he had the Red Sox offense behind him so that he didn't lose 15 games with his awful numbers.

After seeing what Vlad got, I think the 4 year $48 mil doesn't look nearly as unfair as what was portrayed before. But I wouldn't be opposed to 5 years $60 mil. The thing is I would like to see him traded before spring training if no extension can be worked out.

There aren't going to be teams that go 13-3, 14-2 and win the Big 10. The winner will have at least 4 if not 5 losses, which means the separation won't be there, so the 5th place team is going to have 6-7 losses, which is about how many teams usually get into the tourney.

It will be interesting to see how the Lions respond.
