Actually I have got two real quick points. A quarterly recession by definition is impossible. A recession is defined as two consecutive declining quarters. And as for raising rates, it sounds as if a rate increase won't come until at least this summer. The professionals and the futures based on interest rates, don't have a rate increase priced in until June's contract.

He just got a reasonable 3 year deal though. That will help keep him here.

Brazil seems to have no problems accepting $40 billion a year from the US, plus flooding our markets with their cheaply produced goods, not to mention singlehandedly proping up their military. But because the US wants something in return, we have an evil government? Brazil is another American welfare state. They would still be in a hyperinflationary depression, if we hadn't have spent American tax dollars to bail them out. As I have said before, if Brazilians have such a problem the only way that they are going to change anything is by not doing business with the US. Until then, they are hypocritical for expecting something for nothing.
