F-ing Awesome CD of the month
"Bring the noise" kicked ass. That was the only Anthrax CD I ever owned. The two other awesome songs on there were a "nicefukinballad" and the song they wrote for Tipper Gore about censorship(I can't remember the name of it).

Yanks going after Brown
See also the NHL... Things are going to get that bad for MLB. The thing that made the situations deteriorate more quickly is the amount of teams from Canada who are paying wages in US $ but getting their revenues in Canadian $ worth only about 70 cents on the dollar. I really expect to hear of a bankruptcy filing by a MLB team within the next 5 years.

F-ing Awesome CD of the month
There are some songs that were a definate step back of the studioized versions of the originals. But for the most part the de-popping of that album made it sounds a lot more like an old Beatles album IMO.

Cincinnati Police incident
http://www.msnbc.com/news/999853.asp?0dm=C18KN This is a pretty wild story. Has anyone else seen the tape of the beating? The cops just beat this guy like crazy, but at the beginning the guys goes after one of the cops, and sporatically through the video the guy keeps trying to get up and it looks like get after the cops. nbc5.com actually has a streaming video that shows a decent amount of the incident.

Sad story of PC gone too far
http://www.wbbm780.com/asp/go.asp?ID=http:...ain586293.shtml Here is the text of the story. A 7-year-old boy was scolded and forced to write "I will never use the word `gay' in school again" after he told a classmate about his lesbian mother, the American Civil Liberties Union alleged Monday. Marcus McLaurin was waiting for recess at Ernest Gaullet Elementary School on Nov. 11 when a classmate asked about Marcus' mother and father, the ACLU said in a complaint. Marcus responded he had two mothers because his mother is gay. When the other child asked for explanation, Marcus told him: "Gay is when a girl likes another girl," according to the complaint. A teacher who heard the remark scolded Marcus, telling him "gay" was a "bad word" and sending him to the principal's office. The following week, Marcus had to come to school early and repeatedly write: "I will never use the word `gay' in school again." A phone message left for Lafayette Parish schools superintendent James Easton was not immediately returned. The ACLU is demanding the case be removed from Marcus' file and that the school apologize to the boy and his mother, Sharon Huff. "I was concerned when the assistant principal called and told me my son had said a word so bad that he didn't want to repeat it over the phone," Huff said. "But that was nothing compared to the shock I felt when my little boy came home and told me that his teacher had told him his family is a dirty word."

Believe it or not, it is the same guy. Jeffries went to Fresno St. He must have gone for the bald look in college. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3626

Player ratings
The Yankees first round pick plus a sandwich pick, I believe. But there are all kinds of comlications based on what other free agents that the Yanks sign as to who actually gets their first round pick, and who gets sandwich picks instead.

Illinois vs North Carolina Thread
Nah, I am from Indiana. Actually the Illini are one of my least favorite teams. I have a hard time keeping a favorite team because I follow a school more for their coach than for the school, its players, or its program. I have been a Pitino fan forever so I am a Kentucky fan (even though he is gone, I still follow them), also I know Steve Alford from where I went to college so I follow Iowa too. I am an Indiana University fan a lot more so now the Mike Davis is in charge. But I am a Big 10 and MidMajor fan above all else.

Illinois vs North Carolina Thread
I saw Sean May as a sophomore in HS and he was a monster. I can't wait to see how he has progressed. Back then I remember how soft his touch was from the outside, much like his dad was at IU back in the day.

Illinois vs North Carolina Thread
For star power it is hard to beat Carolina with May, Felton and McCants, but the thing that will kill them is their depth. If the Illini can muster some sort of a post up game to get some of the Heels into foul trouble, they could own this game.

The former Joliet basketball star is leaving Duke and transfering somewhere else. Has anyone heard rumors of where he might land, or where he had considered before chosing Duke?
